SBI PO exam is directed by the State Bank of India to recruit Probationary Officers. The objective is to recruit young graduates for the Managerial post in the Bank. Huge number of students apply for the exam every year but a very few students make their way through it. The best ones are selected post the personal interview. Please note that the pattern of SBI PO exam has changed. Earlier, the SBI PO exam was conducted in 2 parts and now there is an additional part as well i.e. Group Discussion & Interview. A candidate is subjected to clear the Phase I exam in order to attempt the Mains exam. On successful attempts in Prelims & Mains, the candidate qualifies to appear for the Group Discussion round followed by a personal interview.

SBI PO 2017 Recruitment: Exam Dates & Complete details

SBI PO 2017 Recruitment

SBI conducts national level examination to appoint Probationary Officer by conducting the SBI PO examination for young graduates.  On-line registration and payment of fees is open from 07-02-2017 to 06-03-2017. This exam is conducted in 3 different phases. Phase I is the Preliminary Examination, Phase II is the Main Examination and Phase III is the Group Discussion & Interview. In the following article, we will give you the detailed description of every phase. As per the eligibility criteria, the candidate should not be below 21 years and above 30 years of age as on 01-04-2017. There are certain relaxation criteria of age as per the categories.

SBI 2017 Recruitment Exam Pattern & Recruitment procedure:

The recruitment procedure and the pattern are given in this section.

Phase I:

Preliminary Examination – Date of Exam - 29th & 30th Apr and 6th & 7th May'17:

The Preliminary Exam is of be Objective type for 100 marks & will be conducted online and its duration will be of one-hour. This exam will consist of 3 sections namely (1) English Language, (2) Quantitative Aptitude and (3) Reasoning Ability.

Phase II:

Main Exam - Date of Exam - 4th June 2017:

The Main Exam consists of Objective & Descriptive type for 250 marks & will be conducted online and its duration will be of 3 hours. This exam will have 4 sections such as (1) Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, (2) Data Analysis and Interpretation, (3) General Economics & Banking Awareness (4) English Language.

The descriptive test is of 50 marks and the duration is of 30 Minutes. The candidates are required to qualify this descriptive test by securing passing marks. Descriptive test paper of the qualified candidates only will be evaluated.

Be aware that there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer (applicable for objective type questions only).

Candidates who qualify the main exam will be called for the GD & Interview Round.

Phase III - 10th July 2017 onwards:

GD – 20 Marks & Personal Interview – 30 Marks

The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in Descriptive & Objective will be set in descending order in each category. Sufficient number of candidates in each category will be called for GD & interview.

Final Selection:

The marks obtained in descriptive and objective tests will be added to the marks secured in GD and interview for the preparation of the final list. The written test marks i.e., 250 will be calculated to out of 75 marks and GD & interview out of 50 will be converted to 25. The final merit list will be aggregated to 100 marks for each category. The selection is made from the top ranked candidates in each category. These results will be put up on the official website of SBI as well as in the Employment news papers.

Attention all SBI aspirants! The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the candidates’ marks in the Probationary Officer (PO) examination 2016. The process of recruitment for SBI PO 2016 has come to an end after the final declaration of results on September 30 and call letters were issued a day later.

Candidates who wish to view their results may visit the official website of SBI i.e. www.sbi.co.in . On the official website, please enter your roll number and date of birth

Important notes:

  • The total marks scored by the candidate in test out of 250 marks are normalized to 75.
  • The total marks scored by the candidate in interview out of 50 marks are normalized to 35.
  • Final list= Sum total of the (normalized marks of test + normalized marks of interview + normalized marks of GD) with an aggregate of 100

A candidate, when he/ she would be able to see his / her marks, would also be able to see the category wise cut- off marks and the minimum marks required to qualify.   • Go the latest announcements panel and click on the sixth dot
  • Click on the link which says “Call letter for GD- Interview (Phase III) Bio- data form”
  • Provide the details asked such as roll no/ registration no and password/ date of birth in the format of dd-mm-yy at the places asked.
  • Identify the captcha code given in the box and enter it.
  • Login in order to download the call letter
  • Take a print out of the call letter and keep it for future reference.

Steps for easy access your bio data form:

  • After you click on the link for downloading the bio data form, the bio data form will open in the form of a PDF.
  • Download the PDF, go through the details carefully and then fill in the required fields.
  • You can also find other important instructions and some essential documents along with bio data form.
  • Please note that you need to carry all the necessary documents along with you on the day of interview. Admit card is highly mandatory on the day of the interview.
