  • Follow the format: No matter what always follow the format. The general format of a letter is given below:

  • Heading of a letter: address of the writer and the date. Heading must be written on the left corner of the first page of the letter.

  • Salutation is an important part of the letter is an important part. Always put the salutation at the left hand of the page, at a lower level to the Heading. Start the first and last word of the salutation in Capital Letters.

  • Subject: Mention the purpose of the letter in short.

  • Body: The body must cover the entirety of the subject given in the question. Be short and precise.

  • Subscription: A polite form of thanking. It is generally written on the left hand side corner of the lines after the body.

  • Designation follows the subscription.

  • Be specific, Stick to the subject of the letter: Do not write stores. Elaborate things with a limit.

  • Do not repeat sentences or the matter that you are writing about. Generally, candidates repeat too many things in order to show lengthy letter. This is absolutely wrong.

  • Check your command over the Language and tone: Use language tone according to the letter type that has been assigned t you. If it is formal then use formal and precise tone.

  • Maintain a Flow: Yes, you must maintain a steady flow while writing a letter. From start till the end, stick to particular type of flow.
