Letter writing is an important component of the English section of major banks exams like SBI PO,   IBPS PO etc. Letter writing allows you with an opportunity to show your writing skills and vocabulary. • Heading of a letter: address of the writer and the date. Heading must be written on the left corner of the first page of the letter.

• Subject: Mention the purpose of the letter in short.

• Subscription: A polite form of thanking. It is generally written on the left hand side corner of the lines after the body.

• Designation follows the subscription.

• Be specific, Stick to the subject of the letter: Do not write stores. Elaborate things with a limit.

• Do not repeat sentences or the matter that you are writing about. Generally, candidates repeat too many things in order to show lengthy letter. This is absolutely wrong.

• Check your command over the Language and tone: Use language tone according to the letter type that has been assigned t you. If it is formal then use formal and precise tone.

• Maintain a Flow: Yes, you must maintain a steady flow while writing a letter. From start till the end, stick to particular type of flow.
