Bank of Maharashtra, with a network of more than 1897 branches in India enjoys the presence in all states and 4 Union Territories. (MMGS- II) stands for Middle Management Grade Scale- II, and the selected candidates will be appointed as Security officers.

Important Information

1. The above number of vacancies may vary according to the actual requirement of the bank

2. The selected candidates will be posted anywhere in India, depending on the requirement of the bank.

3. The candidates discharged/will be discharged from services on or before 30.09.2017 are only eligible to apply for these posts.

Bank of Maharashtra Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government.
  • Experience: An Officer with 5 years of commissioned Service in Army/Navy/Air Force and not below the rank of Captain or equivalent or an officer not below the rank of Asst. Commandant in Para Military Forces or police officer not below the rank of Asst. Superintendent of police/Dy. Superintendent of police with 5 years experience.
  • Computer Knowledge: Working Knowledge of computer systems shall be essential qualification, which the candidate must either possess or acquire within 6 months from the date of joining the Bank.

Job Profile

  • Monitoring Security and Fire Safety of the Bank, cooperating with Police & other security Officials, Training Armed Guards etc.
  • Work related to development and security arrangements in case of need and allied activities.

Selection Procedure for BOM Recruitment

  • Selection undergoes a three stage process
  • Selected candidates will be called for a group discussion.
  • The GD will be of 20 marks
  • Once you qualify the GD round, you will go for Personal Interview (PI)
  • The Personal Interview carries 100 marks
  • You need to bag at least 50 marks to clear the Personal Interview. However, for candidates coming under SC/ST/OBC category will need 45 marks.
  • The selected candidates will be informed through email/sms from Bank of Maharashtra itself.

Application Procedure of BOM

1. Candidates need to visit the Bank’s website www.bankofmaharashtra.in and click the ‘RECRUITMENT’ to open the link “Online application for recruitment of “Security officers” and then click on the option “APPLY ONLINE” which will open a new screen.

2. Choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter Name, Contact details and e-mail id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Note it down carefully. An Email & SMS will be also sent to you regarding the same.

3. Validate your details and Save your application by clicking the Validate your details’ and ‘Proceed’ button

4. Candidates can proceed to upload Photo & Signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature.

5. Click on the Preview Tab to preview and verify the entire application form before FINAL SUBMIT.

6. Modify details, if required, and click on ‘FINAL SUBMIT’ ONLY after verifying and ensuring that the photograph, signature uploaded and other details filled by you are correct.

Guidelines for Scanning the Photograph and Signature

Photograph

  • Photograph must be a recent passport size photo
  • If you have to use flash, ensure there is no “red-eye”
  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover your face.
  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)
  • Size of file should be between 20kb- 50 kb
  • the size of the scanned image should not be more than 50KB

Signature

  • The candidate need to sign on white paper with black ink pen
  • Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred)
  • Size of file should be between 10kb-20kb
  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20KB

Scanning the Photograph and Signature

1. Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch)

2. Set color to true color

3. Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size. The image file should be JPG or JPEG format.

4. If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed.

5. While filling in the Online Application Form the candidate should fill in all his details on Page 1. After verifying that the details he has filled in are correct and clicking on the ‘Submit / Next’ button a link will he provided on Page 2 of the online application form to upload his photograph and signature.

1. There will be two separate links for uploading photograph and signature.

2. Click on the respective link “Upload Photograph I Signature”

3. Browse & Select the location where the Scanned Photo / Signature file has been saved.

4. Select the file by clicking it

5. Click the upload button

Pay Scale: Rs. 31705 -1145/1-32850 -1310/10 – 45950 as per revised scales.

Tackling Topics Smartly-Section Wise Planning and Preparation

Reasoning Ability:

  1. The most frequently asked topic is puzzle and it has high difficulty level. However this topic has high weightage because under one puzzle situation it gives 3-5 questions that allow the candidate to fetch more marks. Therefore, it is wise to give some decent amount of time on the topics like puzzle and seating arrangement.
  2. Learn squares, cubes and multiplication tables thoroughly. You can simply write them on paper and just read them before going to sleep for a week and your brain will automatically register it. This will help you to score easily in the questions of series which are based upon the logics of squares, cubes and other arithmetic operations.
  3. Practice doing addition, subtraction, multiplication with maximum speed using the tricks that you can easily find in mental mathematics books or you can browse it on search engines.
  4. Vision based reasoning: It is one of the easiest sections that you can easily score with proper concentration. Make sure that you don’t mark the option in haste as the questions can confuse you easily. Always look for the right picture option 2-3 times.

Quantitative Aptitude:

  1. The candidate can focus on the Data Interpretation topic which gives many questions to score marks. You need to have apt edge over solving the percentage, ratios, converting the degree of circle into the percentage and analyzing the graphs and table with maximum speed.
  2. Other important topics include Mensuration for which you need to thoroughly learn the formula. What you can do is make a separate notebook for all the formulae and understand their concept as the questions are based more on it.
  3. If you feel that you totally get lost in the formulae and concepts of mathematics that you find in the study material then you better trace the roots in NCERT mathematics books of 7th-10th standard. You don’t need to practice questions from there, just take one topic and start finding the basic concept from the scratch. It will help resolve all the confusions. Though it would take a bit of time but will speed up your practice later.

General Awareness:

  1. Focus on the current affairs of past six months and mainly study the business section of the newspaper.
  2. Learn about the latest fiscal policies introduced by the government and important tie ups of major business tycoons.
  3. Formulate your opinion on the fiscal policies and interpret them with the latest and previous trends. It will help you have strong hold during the group discussion and interview level of the exam.
  4. Read newspaper regularly and focus on the section of national political and development news, business news and international economic affairs that has impact on nation’s economy.
  5. Make sure that you know all the recent appointments in the banking sector and finance ministry.
  6. Make sure that you have thoroughly mugged up the latest & different fiscal rates that RBI sets for all the banks, like bank rate, repo rate, CRR, SLR etc.

English:

  1. Make a notebook for vocabulary and you can find the trend from previous papers for the type of one word substitution, synonyms, antonyms, words based on diseases, manias and phobias etc.
  2. Make a rule book for the grammar section and separate out the special words which consist of exceptional dealing in grammar.
  3. Develop reading habit which will help you in solving the questions based on comprehensions and it will enable to you to answer the question without getting confused between the lines.

General Strategies to Score Maximum in BOM PO and Clerk Exam

  • Time Management: Start using the timer and practice on the mock tests. Apart from doing the entire mock tests, you need to practice each and every question especially for logical and quantitative aptitude by setting the timer. This will enhance your speed and will give you fair idea in dealing questions in the limited time during exam.
  • Meditation and Proper Sleep: It is crucial to retain the learned concepts in your mind and it requires the candidate to take proper sleep of 7 hours. One should also practice meditation to keep mind calm and healthy body to study properly.

Bank of Maharashtra Exam Calendar

The BOM has requirement for 1315 PO and 200 Clerks for the current year 2016. This is a golden opportunity for banking aspirants to get into a reputed bank on a good scale.

Bank of Maharashtra has notified the exam dates for the recruitment of Clerk / Probationary Officer(PO).

Bank of Maharashtra Clerk Exam date and shift timing:

The written test for theBank of Maharashtra Clerk will be a 1 hour objective test of 100 marks consisting of 3 sections as follows:

  • General Knowledge
  • Reasoning Ability
  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude


The Clerical exam for Bank of Maharashtra is scheduled to happen on 26 October 2016 (Wednesday). The examination will be conducted in two shifts : Shift 1 which is morning shift will commence at 9 AM. The afternoon shift (Shift 2) will start from 1 PM.

The selection will be based on the marks scored in the written test and document verification.

Bank of Maharashtra PO Exam date and shift timing:

objective test of 2 hours duration consisting of 4 Sections for total 200 marks.
