The number of vacancies are 1000 and the exam is to get admission in Manipal School of Banking, Bengaluru for 1-year PG diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF). It is a 1-year course, which comprises of 9 months as classroom studies and 3 months of probation in IDBI bank branches. The course fees is Rs. 3, 50,000/-. The selected candidates would have to sign a service bond for a minimum period of 3 years or shall have to pay an estimated sum of 2-lakh rupees. If a candidate leaves the services of IDBI bank before the completion of 3 years, he/she will have to clear the outstanding dues of educational loan at the applicable card rate is he/she opted for educational loan from IDBI Bank, this is in addition to the 2-lakh rupees mentioned above.

The selection procedure includes online examination and the successful candidate would be called for a personal interview. During the interview, the applicants have an option either to answer in Hindi or English. The final shortlisting of candidates happen among the qualifying candidates. The candidate must be medically fit and must fulfil all the eligibility criteria apart from the marks secured in online test and interview. On successful completion of the course, Manipal University will award a certificate to the candidate.

The time I am mentioning for each section is according to the average time taken to finish a particular section.

IDBI (PGDBF) Assistant Manager Test Series

Reasoning Ability:

The first section is Reasoning ability, which requires about 35 Minutes. Any vague question can be answered at the end if it seems to take longer than needed to answer. Fifty questions related to Syllogism, Inequality, Logical Reasoning, and Coding-decoding, seating arrangement, miscellaneous topics like blood relations, order and ranking, alphanumeric series.

  • Prepare well for the new patterns, which are coding-decoding, Syllogism, maximum questions related to puzzles will be there, so practice them thoroughly.

English Language:

This section also has 50 questions. Questions related to Spotting errors, sentence correction, Para jumbles, reading comprehension, cloze test.

Keep these in mind while you prepare:

  • Spotting errors and cloze test requires a thorough understanding of Grammar, practice these tests well.
  • There are ample mock tests on Para Jumbles (New Pattern), practice such questions well. This will help you be acquainted with these type of questions.

Quantitative Aptitude:

This section comprises of 50 questions related to Number series, Simplification / Approximation, Data interpretation and Quadratic Equations. Miscellaneous questions come from this section. Tips to keep in mind:

  • Practice number series questions well such that you finish well before time.
  • Go through the concepts related to averages, ratios and percentages. The questions related to Data interpretation are based on these concepts, hence practice thoroughly.
  • It is always better to use approximate values than exact values in Simplification/Approximation questions.

General Awareness (with special reference to Banking):

Details for the post of IDBI (PGDBF) Assistant Manager:

Compensations:
