  • SSC CGL 2016 Tier 1- Exam Analysis: 28th August (1st and 2nd shifts)

    The Staff Selection Commission has successfully conducted the SSC CGL Tier 1 examination on 28th August 2016 in two phases. The SSC CGL examination has once again proved to be the most competitive examinations. In this article, we bring you the analysis of the first and second shift of the examination. The first shift of the examination was conducted from 10 am to 11: 15 am and the second shift was conducted from 4pm to 5: 15 pm. As per the review by one of the students, the level of the questions in both the shifts were relatively easy.

    Before going on the analysis of the shift 1 of the SSC CGL 2016 Tier 1 conducted on 28th August 2016, let us take a quick look at the pattern of the examination.

    SSC CGL Tier I 2016 Examination/Test Pattern

    SSC CGL Tier-I Examination or Phase –I of SSC CGL Examination is conducted offline. Once you have cleared the initial phase, you will be called in for the subsequent phase which is known as the SSC CGL Tier-II Examination.

    The following pattern had come for the SSC Tier-I Test that was held on August 27.  The SSC CGL Tier I Exam 2016 (2nd Shift) was an Objective written exam which went on for 1 hour 15 minutes- 4 pm to 5:15 pm. This exam includes 4 major sections, and each of them has 25 questions. Candidates were supposed to answer maximum questions within the stipulated time.

    You must note these important things about SSC CGL Tier-I (held today) and Tier-II (upcoming) Examination

    • Exam Type: Both exams are multiple choice objective type exams. 
    • Marking Scheme in both the examinations: There is two-mark for each correct answer.
    • Negative Marking: Yes, there is negative marking in SSC CGL Examinations.
    • In SSC CGL Tier-I exam, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
    • In SSC CGL Tier-II exam, 0.50 marks deduction for every incorrect answer in Quantitative Aptitude section and 0.25 marks deduction for every incorrect answer in English section.

    So, before you analyze your total score, you must always remember that every incorrect answer takes away 0.25 marks from your entire score.

    How was SSC CGL Tier-I Exam?

    SSC CGL Tier-I Exam was neither difficult nor a joy ride for the appearing students; it can be called a moderately difficult exam. If you are satisfied with your performance in the 2nd Shift, you don’t have much to worry because the overall level of the four sections has been termed as “easy and doable” by many candidates who have appeared for the exam.

    The questions in this section were of easy level. It has been estimated that around 60 percent of the total questions could have been attempted quickly by the appearing students.

  • SBI PO Main Exam Result: 16 Aug 2016 - Check Here

    State Bank has conducted the Preliminary stage of most awaited PO exam .The result of online exam for SBI PO Prelims 2016 will be declared on 18 July. The result will be available on the official website of the bank.

    The candidates who appeared the Prelims Examination of SBI PO 2016 will have to obtain the required cut off to qualify for the Mains Exam. Around 45,000 candidates will be selected for the Mains. The tentative date for the Main Exam is 31 July 2016. The SBI PO Result 2016 of the Main Exam will be declared on 16 Aug 2016 tentatively. The candidates who qualify the Mains will be shortlisted for GD and Interview. SBI will declare the Final Result on 30 September 2016.     To Check the SBI PO Prelims Result 2016:

    After each successful completion of the exam, the result will be declared on the website of SBI. Some of the salient features of the SBI PO Result 2016 are as follows:

    • After the online Preliminary Examination, Bank will declare the SBI PO Result 2016 within 2 weeks of the exam. Candidates will be able to check their scores and the qualifying cut off marks

    • The qualified candidates will be eligible to compete in the Main Examination. Once it is over, SBI PO Result (Main) will be declared by the Bank after a month or so.

    • The participation of candidates in the next level of selection will solely lie on their performance in the previous stage.

    • Candidates who will qualify the Main exam by achieving the minimum required cut-offs will be eligible to attend the Group Discussion & Personal Interview.

    • Once all the phases are completed, final SBI PO Result will be declared. The result will display the Roll numbers of the successful candidates for the post of Probationary Officers.The final result will be declared on 30 September 2016.

    Educational Qualification for the Candidates who want to apply for UG programme:   Interested candidate must have done 12thand the candidates who have given the examination but their result is not out yet, they can also apply for this examination.     Application Procedure:

    Go to the official website in order to apply for CLAT 2017. Except online registration, candidate can not apply via any other application mode. Application Fee – Candidate who belong from general category they need to pay Rs. 4000/- Candidate who belong from reserved category they need to pay Rs. 3500/- Payment must be done via online mode by using net banking or debit card or credit card.

    Application Fee for CLAT 2017:

    General category candidates will have to pay: Rs. 4000/- Reserved category candidates will have to pay: Rs. 3500/- Payment must be done via online mode by using net banking or debit card or credit card. No other mode like challan or DD will be acceptable.

    Examination Pattern and Syllabus for CLAT 2017:

    Exam Pattern for UG Courses: 200 objective type MCQs will be asked in the question paper. The duration of exam will be two hours. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer and there will be 0.25 negative marking for wrong answers. The questions will be asked from following topics:
    • English Language and Comprehension : 40 questions
    • General Knowledge and Current Affairs : 50questions
    • Numeric Ability : 20 questions
    • Legal Aptitude : 50 questions
    • Logical Reasoning : 40 questions
    Exam Pattern for PG Courses: 150 MCQs will be asked and two hours duration will be provided to attempt the examination. Each question will carry one mark and 0.25 negative marking will be applicable for wrong answers. Questions will be asked from following subjects:
    • Constitutional Law : 50 questions
    • Jurisprudence : 50questions
    • Other Subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR : 50 questions
      CLAT 2017 Result : The declaration of CLAT result will be during 3rd to 4th week of May 2017  through the official website. The admission process for the passing candidates will start from 4th week of May to 1st week of July 2017 as expected. The candidates will have to carry all the original documents for verification while taking admission for verification. It is expected that the closing date of Admission into will be 1st week of July 2017.

  • ‘Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar’ for Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society

    Recognising it’s efforts for developing football at the grassroot level, the ‘Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society’ (SMSES) has been bestowed with National Sports Award ‘Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar’, for ‘Sports for Development’ by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The ‘Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society’ organises the famous Subroto Cup Football Tournament, and over last six decades has made significant contribution towards development of football in the country. 
    •    The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, on 23 August announced the award of ‘Sports for Development’ to ‘Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society’ along with the other annual sports awards like the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Dronacharya, Arjuna Award and others. 
    •    Ever since its inception in 1960, the Subroto Cup Football Tournament, named after the first Chief of Air Staff of Indian Air Force, Late Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee OBE, has time and again ventured into unchartered territory to ensure every child is encouraged to play football in the country. Subroto Cup, conducted by the Indian Air Force, is the largest Football tournament for school children with over 35000 Indian and Foreign teams participating each year. The tournament has made a major impact on Indian Football in recent times with increased interest in football in the country. Subroto Cup Football tournament is now recognised as a ‘Game Changer’ and a ‘Bedrock’ for nurturing talent at junior and sub-junior level in the country. 
    •    Air Marshal MK Malik AVSM VSM Air Officer-in-charge Administration who is also the Vice Chairman of ‘Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society’ received the ‘Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar’ on behalf of ‘Subroto Mukherjee Sports Education Society’ from Hon’ble President of India today at a ceremony in Rastrapati Bhawan.
     

  • Iranian Man Awarded International Cartooning Award


    An Iranian man who has been detained at Australia's Manus Island detention centre for over three years was awarded an international cartooning award for courage by the Cartoonist Rights Network International. 
    •    Ali, who goes by the pen name Mr Eaten Fish, has been detained in Australia’s offshore immigration processing centre for more than three years.
    •    The man, under the pen-name 'Eaten Fish', has documented abuses he suffered at the centre through his cartoons, pushing "through the veil of secrecy and silence".
    •    CRNI is an international human rights organization with a network of more than 600 illustrators. 
    •    It seeks to support and defend cartoonists facing censorship, intimidation, imprisonment, violence and death.
    •    It campaigns for protection and freedom of cartoonists, and its annual award seeks to honor an individual for expressing their freedom of speech rights.
     

  • Himachal Launches 1st Ambulance Hailing Mobile App

    Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur today launched a mobile app for availing immediate and easy access to ambulances in the state.
    •    The app named '108 HP' can be downloaded on any smartphone.
    •    He also flagged off five ambulances from Ridge Maidan.
    •    The new ambulances under 108- National Ambulance Service would be serving at health centres of Jalog and Rampur in Shimla District, Chatari in Mandi District, Gagret in Una District and Bharari in Bilaspur District.
    •    With this, the number of 108 ambulances which was just 50 in 2010 has increased to 199 and there is one ambulance for every 34,000 population.
    •    The state government was spending Rs 1 lakh per day on the ambulance services and till now 7.50 lakh emergency cases had been facilitated.
    •    Besides, 102 Janani Express providing free services to pregnant women from home to hospital and back home after delivery was being provided and so far 82,000 women had benefited.
    •    During the programme, Singh also distributed cheques of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of deceased in the 108 National Ambulance Service accidents.
