Para-jumble Asked :

UNTIL six months ago, no self-respecting financial consultant would travel without it: the bar chart showing that the marginal cost of Internet banking transactions was a tiny fraction of the cost of branch banking. It was the chart that launched dozens of stand-alone Internet banks. Unshackled from the cost of real property—and real people—Internet banks would, it was claimed, blow stuck-in-the-mud incumbents out of the water. However, as Roberta Arena, director in charge of the Internet forHSBC, a British banking giant, remarks wryly: “Easy to say; tough to do.”

Now Internet banks around the world are faltering. Part of the reason is that their physical rivals have become wiser, launching their own integrated “clicks ‘n bricks” strategies that offer customers electronic access as well as dark satanic branches. But they are not undisputed winners either. They are finding that the Internet is, at best, a zero-sum game.

Questions asked in Reasoning Section:

7 Box arrangement with different values :

T – 16
P – 2
V – 6
S – 20
Q – 9
R – 15
U – 11

IBPS RRB Officer and Assistant - Job Profile, Salary Structure & Career Growth

In RRB, as the name suggests, candidates that are recruited are posted in rural areas as RRBs have compulsion to have 80% of their banks in rural areas.

When an employee works for a RRB bank, he/she will have to work in rural areas for development and growth same as other banks located in towns and cities.

One cannot join automatically as an officer in a commercial bank from RRB. The candidate has to come through IBPS for nationalised Banks or SBI Recruitment Board for SBI officer's post.

RRB (Regional Rural Banks) Job Profile : Nature of Work

Each year numerous aspirants appear for the IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 and Assistant (Multipurpose) examination. It is essential to understand the nature of this post along with the overall career growth.

For those who are recruited for Office Assistant (Multipurpose), their job profile consists of clerical functions and co-ordination with other department in the organization and the individual must be multitasking. After Assistant (Multipurpose) comes Officer Scale 1. Officer Scale 1 is essentially a Management Trainee job. The new recruits are kept on a probation period for two years. On the successful completion of the Probation period, the Manager Trainee will be promoted to the Assistant Manager position.

RRBs have similar hierarchy as other banks, like if an individual starts as Assistant Manager (Scale 1) then he/she moves to Manager (Scale 2) then Senior Manager (Scale 3) and so on. But in smaller RRBs (who have fewer branches) senior level positions are not that prominent.

RRB (Regional Rural Banks) Salary Structure : Officer and Assistant Posts

The in hand salary of an IBPS RRB Officer (Scale 1) ranges from Rs. 29,000 to 33,000. Now this is the starting salary. Once you keep moving the career growth ladder, the salary will keep increasing too.

Below is a small table showing salary distribution in RRBs for different posts.

Post

Officer Scale 1

29-33

Officer Scale 2

33-39

Officer Scale 3

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

RRB (Regional Rural Banks) Officers/Assistants : Career Growth

As India has a sizeable rural population, regional banks become their first point of access for banking activities.

As an officer one can rise in the RRB cadre maximum up to Scale III, as senior posts are mostly filled by officers from their sponsoring bank/banks.

Many current CEOs and MDs of various government-owned banks began their career as a junior officer. With experience and performance on their side, they moved up the ladder. Consequently candidates can reach the top post as long as their commitment to serve and motivation to excel remains alive.

A job in RRB comes with many perks and benefits and the growth in this job is rising.

For example, the salary of Officer Scale 1 comes with 100% DA (Dearness Allowance). There will be a probation period of two years and after the successful completion of that period the candidate is promoted to Officer Scale 2.
Being a part of RRB, one is always open to various growth opportunities both inside and outside the organization. A person who joins as a Scale I officer can move to become Scale II and III officer through promotion.

There are also exchange programs wherein RRB employees are deputed to work in different government departments and share their expertise for effective implementation of various schemes.
