Section wise preparation tips:

Preparation tips for Quant and Statistics:

  • Make a list of topics in which you are strong at. Practice as many questions as you can from those topics and make them your strongest points.
  • Make a list of topics in which you are weak at. Practice those topics in detail which will make you score good in these topics as well.
  • In the examination, pick up topics which are your strength and will take less time for you to solve. After you are done with your strong areas, start with your weak areas.
  • Practice some short cut tricks and approaches which will help you to solve the questions in a faster way and will, in turn, save much of your time.
  • In case of quant, focus on topics like Geometry, Algebra, Percentage, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Profit and Loss etc.
  • In case of statistics, focus on topics like Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression, Probability Theory, Time Series Analysis, Sampling Theory, Statistical Interference etc.

Preparation tips for English:

  • Strengthen your grammar and vocabulary by going through different standard grammar books.  
  • Go through different newspapers and articles. This practice will make your grammar and vocabulary strong and in turn will make your reading skills better.
  • For sentence correction and arrangement, there is no specific rule. You need to identify the link between two sentences and if the sentence link makes sense. You need to try different arrangements and check if the arrangements make sense.
  • Prepare a list of new words and learn them. Find out the meanings of the words and list them. This habit will make you remember so many new words.
  • Start with the basics of grammar (parts of speech, active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech etc.)
  • Relax before your exam. Relaxation will make you prepare well before the examination. It will keep you stress free and will keep your mind free to grasp the concepts in a better way.

  • General Studies needs utmost attention. This section is the most unpredictable section from which different types of questions can be asked.

Smart preparation tips (For all sections):

  • Prepare a time table and strictly adhere to the time table. The time table will make you go through various topics.

  • The examination was conducted in all total of 44 batches in 99 cities across the whole country.
  • The dates of conduction of the exam were 27th of August and 11th of September. Srinagar one was an exception because the date of exam there was 25th of September 2016.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam date released

SSC CGL Tier 1 had come along with so many surprises. SSC CGL Tier II is about to arrive and students expect lots of surprises from it too. Positive attitude and hard work are the essentials for success in SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2016.

Before moving on to the exam dates, let us take a look at the pattern of     SSC CGL Tier II 2016:

The exam pattern refers to the structure of the question paper and this will give an idea to the students of how to prepare for the examination. The examination will be divided into three papers:

  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English Language and comprehension

Highlights:

  • The paper will be objective (multiple choice)
  • You will be given 2 hours to solve each paper which signifies that all total of 6 hours will be granted for all papers.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for paper 1 and 3 and a negative marking of 0.25 marks for paper 2

SSC CGL Tier II - Syllabus

  • Paper-1100 Questions on Quantitative Aptitude (200 Marks). Each Question will be of 2 marks, and the time duration will be of 2 hours. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
  • Paper -IIWill consist of English Language and Comprehension. There will be 200 Questions carrying 200 marks, and each question, have weightage of 1 mark. The negative marking will be (for Paper-II) is 0.25 mark. The duration of the examination is 2 hours.
  • Paper-III is meant for the candidates who applied for the post of Statistical Investigator (Otherwise known as Junior Statistical Officer). It will consist of 100 Questions on Statistics (of 200 Marks) each question carrying 2 marks. For every wrong answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted.
  • Paper IV is for those candidates who applied for the post of Assistant Audit officer in CAG. This Paper will have 40 Questions (80 Marks) on Accounts and Finance and 60 Questions (120 Marks) on Economics and Governance. All in all, there will be 100 Questions carrying 200 Marks with 2 marks per Question. The total duration of this paper is 2 hours and negative marking for every wrong answer is 0.50 marks.

  • The credentials required for a candidate to check his / her result is roll number and date of birth
  • The mode of result declaration will be online.
  • The score cards will be released later for the candidates who have qualified. The dispatch of the score cards to the candidates will be on individual basis.

SSC CGL tier 1 result 2016 expected to be declared on first week of November

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the result of SSC CGL Tier 1 exam 2016. The exam was held between August 27, 2016 to September 11, 2016 at various time slots.The exam was conducted online and this year the question paper had four parts-- Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence, General Awareness and English Language. Each section carried 25 questions, each question carried two marks and for each wrong answer, 0.50 mark was to be deducted. The time limit of the examination is 75 minutes.
