Staff Selection Commission holds the Stenographer exam for recruitment to Grade C and D posts. As the notification was published on 22nd October 2018, candidates can apply for the same till 9th November 2018. The eligibility criteria for this post is minimal. You need to clear only 12th Standard examination to write this exam. So, this is a very good opportunity for you to try and grab a govt. job. Your selection to the post will depend upon your performance in the two phases of the exam. The first phase is the Computer-Based Exam and the next phase is the Skill Test. Only if you qualify the first round, you will be called for the next round. To prepare for this post, the first step is to go through the latest SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern. The Staff Selection Commission has activated the link to apply for SSC JHT post on October 22nd, 2018. Candidates can fill the online application form by 19th November 2018. However, the last date to pay the application fee (both online and offline) is 21st November 2018 till 5 pm.

The process of filling online application for the examination consists of two parts:

The One Time Registration is required to Login to the exam page you are applying in the Official Website of SSC. Therefore, it is mandatory that you register yourself first. You must have the following document for the one time registration:

  • In the absence of Aadhaar Number, you need to provide any one of the valid ID proof:
    • Voter ID
    • PAN
    • Passport
    • Driving License
    • School/College ID
    • Employee ID (Govt./PSU/Private)
  • Matriculation (10th Board) Marksheet and pass certificate
  • Scanned colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). Blurred Photos will be rejected.
  • Scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB). Image dimension of the signature should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 3.0 cm (height).
  • If Aadhaar Number or Aadhaar Enrollment Number is not provided, scanned Left hand Thumb Impression (LTI) in JPEG format (10KB to 30 KB). Image dimension of the required impression should be about 3.0 cm (width) x 3.0 cm (height).
  • Disability Certificate (if applicable).

Steps for SSC Junior Hindi Translator One Time Registration

  1. For One-Time Registration, click on ‘Register Now’ link provided in ‘Login’ Section.
  2. Fill in the Basic Details, Additional Details, Contact Details, Photo-Signature & LTI.

How to Fill SSC JHT Online Application Form 2018

After you have registered through the one-time registration, you will have to fill the online SSC Junior Hindi Translator Application form. You can do it by following the below mentioned steps:

  • Login with your Username (Email ID) and your Password.
  • Select “SSC JHT” and then click on “Apply”.
  • All your details will be automatically filled through one time registration done earlier.
  • Select the suitable center of examination from the list of centers given to you.

SSC Stenographer Selection Process – Complete Selection process of Written Test, Skill Test and Document Verification

SSC Stenographer Selection Process

The Staff Selection Commission conducts a Computer Based Examination for Recruitment of Stenographer Grade “C”(Group B Non-gazetted) and Stenographer Grade “D”, Group “C” Non-Gazetted Posts. Selection Process for SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D comprises of Written test or Computer Based Test, Skill Test, and Document verification.
The SSC Stenographer written exam is a computer-based exam. The paper includes three subjects having multiple choice questions – Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language & comprehension.

The details of computer-based examination are mentioned below –

  • The question paper will be of Objective Multiple choice types.
  • Questions will be set in Hindi and English except Part-III.

Skill Test:

The candidates will have to appear for the stenography test or skill test involving a test of typing. They will be judged on the basis of speed and accuracy of typing.

Skill test in Stenography:

Candidates who obtain qualifying marks in the written exam will be called for a Skill Test. The skill test will involve a typing test that is qualifying in nature. Skill test will be based on Stenography.

The candidates who appear for the stenography skill test and will be given dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi(as per choice) at a speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade “C” and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade “D”. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer. Candidates will have to know stenography in both Hindi and English, being a fundamental requirement of the job as a stenographer.

Candidates may also produce work experience certificates if any.
