Staff Selection Commission holds the Stenographer exam for recruitment to Grade C and D posts. As the notification was published on 22nd October 2018, candidates can apply for the same till 9th November 2018. The eligibility criteria for this post is minimal. You need to clear only 12th Standard examination to write this exam. So, this is a very good opportunity for you to try and grab a govt. job. Your selection to the post will depend upon your performance in the two phases of the exam. The first phase is the Computer-Based Exam and the next phase is the Skill Test. All the questions are of objective nature. And there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong attempt. You can take all the sections but English Language in either English or Hindi.

⇒Skill Test

  • A dictation will be given in 10 minutes. For Grade C posts, your typing speed should be 100 words per minute. And for Grade D posts, your speed should be 80 words per minute.
  • You need to transcribe the dictation on the Computer. For Grade C posts, you will get 50 minutes to complete it (65 minutes for Hindi). And for Grade D posts, you will get 40 minutes to complete (55 minutes for Hindi).

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern – Tier 3

This is a Skill/Typing test. For skill test, you should have a typing speed of 8000 key depressions per hour. They will provide you with a printed sheet. And you have to type that in the computer within 15 minutes. The total number of words in the sheet will be around 2000 – 2200.

For typing test, if you choose English, your typing speed should be 35 words per minute. And for Hindi, typing speed should be 30 words per minute. Total time is 10 minutes. They will judge you on the basis of accuracy as well as speed.

Eligibility Criteria for KVPY 2018:

Nationality:

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualifications

  1. Stream SA: Students enrolled in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2017-18 and have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science in the X Standard Board Examination. The fellowship of the selected students will begin only if they join an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2019-20 after having secured a minimum of  60% (50%for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Science subjects in the XII standard/(+2) Board Examination. During the interim period of one year, they will be invited for the National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp and their travel and other related expenses will be met by KVPY.
  2. Stream SX: Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (+2) (Science subjects) during the academic year 2017–18 and aspiring to join undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to  B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. for the session 2018–19 provided they have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the X Standard Board Examination and a minimum of  60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the XII standard Board Examination.
  3. Students in their 2nd year of study in Cambridge International Examination Board and aspiring to join an UG program (viz. B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.)in Basic Sciences namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology are eligible to apply provided they have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the X Standard Board Examination. They must secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the XII standard Board Examination before taking up the fellowship is awarded.
  4. Stream SB: Students enrolled in the 1st year of the undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. and having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology)  in the XII Standard Board Examination. In the 1st year final examination of B.Sc./B.S./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. they must secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks before taking up the fellowship is awarded.
  5. Students enrolled in an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences, that is, B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Materials Science or Environmental Science are eligible for KVPY fellowship.

Exam Pattern

The Complete Exam pattern is given below

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted via online mode
  • Language: the exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English language.
  • Duration of the Exam: The exam will be for a duration of three hours.
  • Exam Mode: The exam will be conducted through online (computer-based test) mode.
  • Language: The exam will be conducted both in English & Hindi Language.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the examination will be three hours.
  • Type of Questions: Objective Type Questions
  • No. of Papers:Two Papers – Paper I and Paper II.
  • Marks: The question paper will out of 100 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: In PART I, one mark will be given to the candidates for correct answer. In KVPY PART II exam, two marks will be awarded for each correct response.
  • In KVPY PART I, 0.25 marks will be deducted for incorrect answer. In KVPY PART II, 0.5 marks will be deducted for wrong response.

KVPY Syllabus 2018

The syllabus of KVPY 2018 will consist of the PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology) Subjects. KVPY 2018 Syllabus will be comprised of the topics & chapters of the Class 10th/11th/12th/1styear of B.Sc/BS/B.Stat/B.Math/MS/Int. M.Sc. There is no prescribed syllabus for this exam.
