SSC CGL is back again on the field! The tier I examination has come to an end with lots of surprises and now the SSC CGL Tier II examination is round the corner. SSC jobs are one of the jobs in demand almost everywhere throughout the country. Every year, almost 20 lakh students appear for SSC jobs. Section wise preparation tips:

Preparation tips for Quant and Statistics:

  • Make a list of topics in which you are strong at. Practice as many questions as you can from those topics and make them your strongest points.
  • Make a list of topics in which you are weak at. Practice those topics in detail which will make you score good in these topics as well.
  • In the examination, pick up topics which are your strength and will take less time for you to solve. After you are done with your strong areas, start with your weak areas.
  • Practice some short cut tricks and approaches which will help you to solve the questions in a faster way and will, in turn, save much of your time.
  • In case of quant, focus on topics like Geometry, Algebra, Percentage, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Profit and Loss etc.
  • In case of statistics, focus on topics like Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression, Probability Theory, Time Series Analysis, Sampling Theory, Statistical Interference etc.

Preparation tips for English:

  • Strengthen your grammar and vocabulary by going through different standard grammar books.  
  • Go through different newspapers and articles. This practice will make your grammar and vocabulary strong and in turn will make your reading skills better.
  • For sentence correction and arrangement, there is no specific rule. You need to identify the link between two sentences and if the sentence link makes sense. You need to try different arrangements and check if the arrangements make sense.
  • Prepare a list of new words and learn them. Find out the meanings of the words and list them. This habit will make you remember so many new words.
  • Start with the basics of grammar (parts of speech, active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech etc.)
  • Relax before your exam. Relaxation will make you prepare well before the examination. It will keep you stress free and will keep your mind free to grasp the concepts in a better way.

Preparation tips for General Studies (Finance and Economics):

  • General Studies needs utmost attention. This section is the most unpredictable section from which different types of questions can be asked.

Smart preparation tips (For all sections):

  • Prepare a time table and strictly adhere to the time table. The time table will make you go through various topics.
  • Go through the topics which you take less time to solve and the topics which you find easy. Solve them thoroughly and make them your scoring areas.
  • Pick up the topics which you find tough to solve. These topics can be weak areas so work hard on these topics.
  • Solve previous year papers and mock tests. This practice will give you confidence to solve the exam paper without any hesitation.
  • Attempt only those questions which you are sure about. If you are not sure about any question, then don’t answer the question which will adversely affect your score.
  • Be confident about your preparation. Confidence is the ultimate key to happiness. Have a positive attitude towards hard work.
