Important updates about SSC CGL 2016:

  • The age of the candidates appearing for the examination shall now be calculated as on 1st August 2016 instead of calculating as on 01st January.

  • The interview section of the examination has been eliminated from this year. So, there shall be no conduction of interviews.

Few important points to remember during SSC CGL 2016:

  • The examination will be held in two languages: English and Hindi (except for English Comprehension)

  • The total time of the examination is 2 hours. (120 minutes)

  • The time duration for the candidates who are visually impaired candidates is 160 minutes.

  • The total questions and the total marks i.e. 200

  • Each question carries 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 0.25 mark for every wrong answer.

Let us take a look on the preparation for SSC CGL 2016 on a weekly basis:

Week 1: In the week 1, you can start with the general awareness section:

a. Read current affairs from newspapers and articles. Note down the important headlines and remember them. Try to cover important events from the Indian History (Medieval and Modern). Geography (Physical), Economics, Indian Constitution etc.

b. Analyze some of the papers from previous years. You will get a brief idea of the important topics and you can focus on them.

c. Make a list of all the important and frequently asked topics and practice them.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) recently released the examination notification for aspirants willing to pursue SSC CGL 2016 exam. The Combined Graduate Level exam 2016 details can be found at ssc.nic.in, the official website of SSC. According to the notification, the SSC CGL 2016 exam I to be held on August 27 and the aspirants can check further details on our site.

Changed pattern

The SSC CGL 2016 exam shall be conducted in two parts now. The total number of questions has also been reduced. For the SSC CGL 2016 exam Tier 1 there shall now be 100 questions instead of 200.

Pattern of examination scheduled to be held from 27th August, 2016

The Commission has decided to reduce the Number of Questions from 200 to 100 in Tier-I.

The examination would continue to carry 200 marks.

The duration of the Tier-I examination would be for a period of 75 minutes.

The Tier-I and Tier-II will now be in computer based examination mode in place of OMR based examination mode.

Latest News: SSC CGL 2016 Change in Exam pattern|SSC CGL 2016 will be conducted Online from 27th August

STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION has decided to conduct SSC CGL Exam 2016 in Computer based examination mode (online) in place of OMR based examination mode.

SSC CGL 2016 Online Exam

The Commission has also decided to reduce the Number of Questions from 200 to 100 in Tier-I of the Examination which would continue to carry 200 marks. The duration of the Tier-I examination would be for a period of 75 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier-I Exam is scheduled to be held from 27th August, 2016.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organization under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of Chairman, two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations.

TheStaff Selection Commission declared the final result of various examinations conducted for various posts like assistant in ministries, Inspector in various departments, Statistical investigator, Auditor in Office, Tax assistants and many other posts on June 29, 2016. The exams had been conducted successfully by SSC in 2015 and the qualified candidates in all the written exams were called for the interviews by SSC.

A total of 8624 vacancies (3724 for interview posts and 4900 for non-interview posts) will be filled through this recruitment process. The Interview / CPT / Skill Test, wherever it was required, has been conducted on February 27, 2016.
