SSC CGL launched this new idea in the year 2016 in which Tier 3 exam has a focal point on the writing efficiency of the aspirants. So, the candidate can choose which language he wants to write it. The options are English and Hindi only.

For SSC CGL Tier 3 Preparation, there are a few things that all candidates must keep in mind.

  1. It is not an objective but DESCRIPTIVE paper
  2. While writing this paper, candidates should follow a certain pattern
  3. All the topics demand a specific level of understanding and IQ
  4. There are an incredible number of ways of turning this exam into an effortless practice

  1. Understanding the concept

  • Candidates must understand the topic they are writing on during SSC CGL Tier 3 Preparation
  • Memorizing the letters or cramming essays will not help. Focus on the question and write exactly on that
  • The time should be completely utilized on conceiving the actual concept during the preparation

5. Grammar & Vocabulary

  • The Vocabulary and Grammar are the most important aspects of SSC CGL Tier 3 Preparation
  • Without proper grammar, the exam checker will not give marks.
  • Practice the use of tenses, modals, prepositions, synonyms/antonyms, sentence formation and punctuation every single day. Practicing this will make your writing very attractive
  • To enhance vocabulary, learn 2-3 words every day. Make different sentences using those words

6. The Time

  • Manage time effectively. Candidates should remember they have a very limited period of time to complete the exam
  • In one hour, aspirants have to finish three activities
  • Time can only be managed well by practicing more and more Mock Tests

  • Also, try to finish all 3 questions within 1 hour

SSC CGL Exam Centers

Allotment of exam center while applying for SSC CGL is done by taking applicant’s Choice of order. Applicants need to provide a choice of three cities as their SSC CGL Exam Centers. These three cities or centers need to follow specific order of preference; first needs to be the nearest and easily commuted, second can be a neighbor city and third needs to be any other city which can be commuted on time.

  • One need to pick three cities out of 105 cities.
  • All three cities needs to follow order of preference with first being the nearest.
  • Other choices of SSC CGL Exam Centers also need easy to commute.
  • Allotment of Exam Centers will be on first come first serve basis.

Choice of center:

 Candidates need to provide a choice of three cities as their SSC CGL exam centers in the application form.

Order: 

All three Exam centers are to be provided in the candidate’s order of preference. The first preferred city should be easy to travel to write the exam.

Exam Day Instructions

Once the exam center is allotted to an applicant, he/she needs to take care of certain things in the examination hall/center.

  • Dress Code
  • Items not allowed

SSC CGL Dress Code:

SSC strictly instructs a specific dress code during the conduction of SSC CGL Examination. Both male & Female candidates need to follow below mentioned dress code in order to avoid suspension of candidature from SSC CGL 2018-2019.

Dress Code for Male Candidates
  • Male Candidates are advised to Wear light coloured shirt/ t-shirt half sleeves with small buttons.
  • Any traditional wear like kurta or pyjama is not allowed.
  • Only plain sleepers or sandals with toes visible can be worn in the Exam Center
Dress code for Female Candidates
  • Female Candidates are advised to wear Light coloured, half sleeves kurtas or tops, with small buttons.
  • No brooch, flowers, bangles, jewellery, etc are allowed during the exam.
  • Women are not allowed to wear any kind of jewellery except Mangal Sutra.
  • Salwar’s, Patiala’s, and plain simple lowers cannot be worn.
  • Only Jeans or Leggings/ Jeggings can be worn.

Items not Allowed:

Candidates are not allowed to posses following list of items during the exam. If found any, applicants may be asked to leave the examination hall.

  • Stationary item such as bits of papers, textual material (written or printed), Pencil box/ Geometry, Plastic Pouch, Pen, Calculator, Scale, Pen Drive, Writing Pad, Eraser, Log Table, Calculator, Scanner/ Electronic Pen etc.
  • Watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, Bracelet, etc.
  • Communication devices such as Bluetooth, Mobile Phone, Earphones, Pager, Microphone, Health Band etc.
  • Items such as Goggles, Wallet, Handbags, Cap, Belt etc.
  • Ornaments such as Earrings, Ring, Nose-pin, Pendants, Chain/Necklace, Badge, Brooch are not allowed
  • Food items either opened or closed are not allowed.
  • Metallic item such as knife are strictly prohibited.
  • One should not have items that can be used for hiding Bluetooth device, camera

SSC CGL Exam Date 2018 Announced for Tier III & IV

Staff Selection Commission has announced exam dates for SSC CGL Tier III and Tier IV exam. In its latest announcement, SSC has released the SSC CGL Exam date, Time and Venue for all appearing candidates. 30,26,599 candidates registered this year for SSC CGL. A total of 15,43,962 candidates appeared for SSC CGL Tier I exam conducted in 43 Batches across the Country from 5th August 2017 to 23rd August 2017. The SSC CGL Tier II exam was finally held between 17th to 22nd February 2018, after multiple postponement of the exam. The re-exam for SSC CGL Tier II was held on 9th March 2018 for Quantitative Aptitude paper. The Tier III exam was scheduled on 31st March 2018. Candidates have to qualify for Tier I, Tier II, and subsequently in Tier III with a high score to secure a rank in the final merit list released by the SSC. The appointment of posts for candidates will be done on the basis of the merit and posts selected. Candidates will have to clear each of the 3 or 4 levels of exams.

It is a descriptive test that will be testing your communication skills in English/Hindi. You need to write an Essay and a Letter/Application/Precis. And you must complete the paper consisting of 100 marks within 60 minutes.

Tier IV consists of Skill Test specific to certain post requirements. Data entry speed test will be conducted for certain posts and Computer Proficiency Test for the other posts.

Staff Selection Commission has postponed the exam date for SSC CGL Tier II 2017. The SSC CGL 2017 Tier II exam will now take place from 17th February 2018 to 22nd February 2018. The erstwhile dates for the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam were 18th January to 20th January 2018.

Exam Date for SSC CGL Tier II:

The Staff Selection Commission or SSC is going to conduct the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam from17th February 2018 to 22nd February 2018. You can find the official annopuncement on their website.
