SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2016 - Previous Year Questions and Expected Cut- off Marks

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Tier II examination is on the way and students are all set to prepare well. The SSC CGL Tier II examination will be held from 30th November 2016 to 3rd December 2016. The exam will be conducted in two slots i.e. Slot 1 will be from 10: 00 AM to 12:00 PM and slot 2 timings would be 2: 45 PM to 4: 45 PM. In order to add to the efforts of the students, we present you questions asked in the previous years along with the expected cut- off. SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2016: Previous Year Questions

The questions asked in previous years are the questions asked in SSC CGL Tier II in years 2014, 2015 etc. We have presented a few previous years questions which will make you aware of the exam pattern and types of questions asked. English language has been of the vital sections which will require attention but numerical abilities will need hard-core preparation. English Language:

English Language has been one of the scoring sections in CGL exams. You may make a good attempt of 55- 60 questions to clear the sectional cut- off.

Numerical Abilities:

Numerical Abilities can be an easy section if you regularly practice questions from the frequently asked topics in SSC CGL exams. If you make a good attempt of 50- 55 questions, you may safely clear the cut – off marks.

SSC CGL Tier II Cut off marks is based on some factors like difficulty level of papers, number of candidates, number of vacancies etc. It varies from different categories and states. Let us take a look at the SSC CGL Tier 2 2015 and 2016 cut- off marks:

5 Time Management tips to crack SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2016:

  1. Understand and become familiar with the exam syllabus and pattern. This will be the key as you know what to study.
  2. Complete the whole syllabus before a week of the exam and give last week for revision.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus and Pattern 2016

The SSC CGL Tier 2 exam dates  and Shift timings are as follows: 

On Day 1, i.e exam commencement date - 30 October 2016 - there paper 1 of Quantitative Aptitude and paper 2 of English Language will be conducted in two shifts. The slot time/shift timing for paper 1 will be from 10 AM to 12 PM. The Paper 2 will  start at 2.45 PM and end by 4.45 PM . Similar exam schedule will be followed for SSC CGL tier 2 on the second day( 1st December).  On Day 3 i. e 2nd December 2016,  optional papers of Statistics (Paper -3) will be conducted from 10 AM to 12 PM and General Studies (Paper -4) will be conducted from 2.45 PM to 4.45 PM. The final day (3rd December) will have only one shift , which is afternoon shift for Paper 4. 

In summary, SSC CGL Tier 2 will be held in 4 days and shifts will be morning and evening for different papers. The RRB NTPC trend is back again! The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released notifications for RRB NTPC Mains stage 2 CBT syllabus and Exam details. A stage 2 ‘Computer Based Test (CBT)’ will be conducted by all RRBs for various NTPC (Graduate) posts. A number equal to 15 times the available vacancy will be invited for stage 2 CBT based on merit list of 1st stage CBT conducted in between 28/ 3/ 16 to 3/ 05/ 16.

RRB NTPC Mains (Stage 2) Exam- Exam Dates

The RRB NTPC (Stage 2) examination will be on held in 17th, 18th and 19th January 2017. The date of RRB NTPC is tentative and in case of any further changes in the schedule, the candidates will be intimated via official notifications by RRB.

The RRB NTPC (2nd stage) will consist of three sections:

The final selection in RRB NTPC (Stage 2) will be based on merit obtained in the Computer Based Test (CBT) of RRB NTPC (Stage 2). The result of Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test can also be considered (whenever and wherever required) for final selection. The extant rules in 1st and 2nd stage CBT will be used in the process of normalisation of marks.

The paper III is all about data and its representation in various domains and various forms. This paper will be of 200 marks and will consist of 100 questions. The marks each question would carry is 2 marks and for every incorrect response, 0.50 marks will be deducted from the score. The scope of the paper can be:

  • In CGL Tier-I exam, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
  • In CGL Tier-II exam, 0.50 marks deduction for every wrong answer in Quantitative Aptitude section and 0.25 marks deduction for every wrong answer in English section.
