Reserve Bank of India will conduct a recruitment exam for the selection of Assistants in the Bank. There exist a total of 610 posts.

The prelims exam was held on 23rd and 24rd December 2016. The result of the pre exam was declared on 30th December 2016. Those who have qualified will pass through the next stage which is RBI Assistant Mains. The exam is scheduled on 24th January.

RBI Assistant Prelims 2016: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of RBI Assistant Prelims 2016 is based on three factors:

  • Nationality
  • Age Limit
  • Educational Qualification

Nationality/Citizenship

Candidates who are eligible ‘Indian Nationals’ can only apply for the post of RBI Assistant.

Age Limit: It is one of the crucial factors of ‘Eligibility Criteria’. The candidates who will apply for this post will have to satisfy the age limit prescribed by RBI Assistant 2016.

  • The Age as on 7th November 2016 must be between the limit of 20 to 28 years.
  • There are provisions of age relaxation based on different categories. It can be stated as follows:

5 years, i.e. up to 33 years

Other Backward Classes (OBC)

3 years, i.e. up to 31 years

Ex-Servicemen

Based on service rendered by those professionals in Armed Forces along with an additional period of 3 years subject to maximum of 50 years

Widows/divorced women/ women judicially separated and not re-married

Candidates domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 1/ 1/ 1980 to 31/ 12/ 1989.

5 years

Candidates having some work experience in RBI

To the extent of number of years of such experience, subject to maximum of 3 years.
