RBI or the Reserve Bank of India has invited applications for the post of “Assistant”. There are vacancies for 623 posts across offices of RBI across India.

Important Dates for RBI Assistant Recruitment notification 2017:

Salary and Emoluments RBI Assistant Recruitment notification 2017: Assistants will draw a starting basic pay of ₹ 14650/- per month (i.e. ₹ 13150 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates) in the scale of 13150-750 (3)-15400- 900(4) -19000-1200(6)-26200-1300 (2)-28800- 1480(3) – 33240 – 1750 (1)- 34990 (20 years) and other allowances , viz Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Assistants is approximately ₹ 32528/- including House Rent Allowance @ of 15%.

Phase III- Language Proficiency Test (LPT) – The candidates who qualify in the mains exam will to undergo language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the concerned state. Candidate not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified. The mains exam will be conducted bilingually in both English and Hindi. Candidates have to pass in each objective tests of the online examination. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam will appear for the mains examination. There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the objective tests in both the preliminary and mains exam. Candidates will lose 0.25 or 1/4th marks for every wrong answer.

• The Preliminary Exam result of RBI Assistant was declared on 29th December 2016. 
• The Mains online examination was conducted on 24th January 2017.
• On 7th February 2017, RBI also announced that there will be no interviews for the Assistant post.

As per RBI guidelines, the list released for the allotted candidates is provisional in nature and is subject to the fulfilment of following - 

• Candidate should be medically fit.
• Candidate should submit proper documentary evidences for his/ her eligibility criteria (Age, Educational Qualification, Category, Caste certificate, reliving letter etc.).
• Candidates also need to qualify the Language Proficiency Test. Candidates who qualify this test will be appointed as Assistant in RBI.

Candidates will now have to appear for the Language Proficiency Test,which will be of qualifying nature and only those candidates who qualify in the said test shall be appointed in the Bank. As per the notification of RBI 7th February, Interviews will not be conducted for the RBI Assistant Post from this year.
