RBI Assistant Mains 2017 : Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Reserve Bank of India will conduct a recruitment exam for the selection of Assistants in the Bank. There exist a total of 610 posts.

The prelims exam was held on 23^rd and 24^rd December 2016. The result of the pre exam was declared on 30^th December 2016. Those who have qualified will pass through the next stage which is RBI Assistant Mains. The exam is scheduled on 24^th January.

Most aspirants are still confused about the RBI Assistant(Clerk) Exam pattern and syallbus for the Mains examination. We are illustrating below the syllabus and pattern as notified by Reserve Bank of India.

RBI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern

RBI Mains exam will consist of 200 questions and a composite time duration of 2 hours will be provided to complete the exam. There

Negative Marks: There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong attempt. Hence, it is advised to attempt questions which has certainity.

RBI Assistant Interview

The candidates who qualify for the RBI Assistant Mains exam will be called for an Interview. The interview panel will test the basic banking awareness and current affairs along with candidate's bio.

The interview will be of 35 marks.

(d) General Awareness (Special Reference to Banking Industry)

The GK or topics asked can be divided into three broad categories:

(i) Banking/Financial terms

(ii) Current Affairs – It covers every current news including related to banking industry, latest appointments, obituaries, awards and honors, books and authors, new schemes of central and state governments, sports, etc.

(iii) Static GK – It covers headquarters of financial organizations ,Country-capital, country-currency, constituencies of ministers, dance forms, nuclear and thermal power stations, Superlatives of World and India, First in India & World, Places with surname, Palaces, International Lines/Boundaries, Important Monuments of India & World, Rivers, Parliament names of different countries, Important Temples, National Parks,Airports, Wildlife Sanctuary, Stadium, Important Days,memorial place etc.

 

(e) Computer Knowledge:

The topics covered for Computer section are:

• Basics of computer, different generations, hardware/software, etc.
• DBMS
• Networking
• Internet
• MS Office and Shortcuts used in MS Office
• Input/output Devices, their types
• Important Abbreviations
