  • The entry closing time will be half an hour before the scheduled start time of the Examination

  • The tentative time scheduling for conducting of Tier-II would be November, 2016.

  • Tier III is proposed to be held simultaneously in the month of January, 2017.

  • The Commission would make a concerted effort to declare the final result for CGLE 2016 by the last week of April, 2017.

Some Important Notes regarding SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2016 :

  • The scores obtained by the candidates in Tier I & Tier II, together, would determine the eligibility of the candidates to appear in Tier III & Tier IV.

  • The number of questions has been reduced to 100 in tier 1 exam.

  • If any candidate appears at more than 1 shift, his/her candidature will be cancelled and he/she would be debarred for a period of three years.

  • SSC proposes to upload on its website a practice test / mock test on 1st August, 2016

  • SSC also proposes to upload an animated 'walk through' on 10th August, 2016 to appropriately familiarize the candidates with the salient processes and procedures which are associated with the computer based examination.

Attention! Important Announcement- RRB NTPC examination (2nd stage)

Attention all the aspirants of RRB NTPC examination! We have a note- worthy update for you regarding the answer keys, CBT (Computer Based Test) and pattern of the 2nd stage of the RRB NTPC examination 2016.

Some of the significant announcement made by the ‘Railway Board’ are as follows:

  • Any kind of objections/ remarks on the question/ answer keys by the students were invited and considered by the board. After these considerations, the question papers, the answer keys and responses of the candidates shall be again made available on the website of RRB in the month of September/ October 2016.
  • As per the earlier notifications on 10th September 2016, the “Railway Recruitment Board” will hold a second stage. CBT i.e. Computer Based Test. The test will be held for various NTPC (Graduate) category posts, in accordance to the paragraphs 8. 12 and 14. 03 of CEN No. 03/ 2015. The number of candidates called for 2nd stage CBT will be 15 times of the available vacancies. The candidates will be called on the basis of the merit position in the CBT conducted during the dates: 28th August 2016 to 3rd September 2016.
  • The final list of selection of the candidates will be based on the following
  • Merit position scored by the candidates/ aspirants in the CBT- second stage (and/ or)
  • Result obtained in the “Aptitude Section” (and/ or)
  • Skills in typing (Wherever applicable)
  • The normalization process of the marks will be based on the rules existing in the 1st and 2nd stage of the Computer Based Test.
  • The 2nd stage is anticipated to contain questions from the following sections:
  • General Awareness
  • Arithmetic
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • The entire duration or time slot of the second slot of CBT will be all total of 90 minutes and the paper will comprise of 120 objective questions.

  • Negative Marking: Yes, there is negative marking in SSC CGL Examinations.
  • In SSC CGL Tier-I exam, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
  • In SSC CGL Tier-II exam, 0.50 marks deduction for every incorrect answer in Quantitative Aptitude section and 0.25 marks deduction for every incorrect answer in English section.

So, before you analyze your total score, you must always remember that every incorrect answer takes away 0.25 marks from your entire score.

How was SSC CGL Tier-I Exam?

SSC CGL Tier-I Exam was neither difficult nor a joy ride for the appearing students; it can be called a moderately difficult exam. SSC CGL Tier I Quantitative Aptitude Analysis:

This section had questions from topics such as,

Arithmetic,

Geometry,

Trigonometry,

Geometry

Bar Charts

Height and Distance

Simple Interest questions

The questions were not tricky rather were direct.

The questions from Arithmetic part were easy.

Questions based on topics such as Geometry and Trigonometry were moderately difficult. Candidates found Quantitative Aptitude section doable and straight forward. .

If you have attempted 18-20 questions correctly then there are is a great chance that you will easily sail through this passage.

SSC CGL Tier I General Intelligence and Reasoning Analysis:

The questions in this section were of easy level. It has been estimated that around 60 percent of the total questions could have been attempted quickly by the appearing students.

The major focus of candidates while attempting SSC CGL Tier I General Intelligence and Reasoning section was to solve maximum questions correctly within 15-20 minutes allotted for this section.

This time, there were hardly any current affairs questions; this time’s candidates were luckier than those of the previous year. Even in this section, 20-22 questions could have been easily attempted by the candidates even if they haven’t really prepared for this section.
