SSC CHSL Exam: 1 Month Study Plan and Preparation Tips

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts CHSL examination to recruit candidates for the posts of Low Division Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Sorting Assistant and Court Clerk/ Postal Assistant.

The registrations have started by 8th of October 2016 and the last date for closing of registration has been declared as 25th November 2016. The dates of SSC CHSL exam has been declared as 7th January 2016 to 5th February 2016. The results of the SSC CHSL  examination will be declared by the month of April 2017. SSC CHSL  2016: Exam Pattern

What is the exam pattern of SSC CHSL  2016? Here we go:

  • The nature of the exam will be of objective type and the examination will be an ‘online examination’.
  • The question paper will consist of four parts/ sections namely
  • (Part-1)- General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • (Part-2)- English Language
  • (Part-3)- Quantitative Aptitude
  • (Part-4)- General Awareness / General Knowledge.
  • The duration of the examination will be of 75 Minutes.
  • The paper will consist of 100 questions worth 200 marks.
  • The questions will be in both languages: English and Hindi.
  • For every incorrect response, there will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks.

  • Focus on ‘Static GK’ questions
  • Keep a note of the current affairs of last one month
  • Cover topics like Indian History, Geography (physical), Economy and theories, Polity etc.

Week 2 (Focus on General Intelligence and Reasoning)

  • This weak is meant forGeneral Intelligence and Reasoning’
  • Practice questions from topics of caselets, puzzles, venn diagrams,
  • Practice topics which will be less time taking among all imp topics.
  • Go through question papers of pervious years to get an idea of what is asked.

Week 3 (Focus on Quantitative Aptitude)

  • This weak is meant forQuantitative Aptitude’
  • Practice questions from this section in a rigorous manner.
  • Practice questions from topics which are frequently asked in SSC CHSL exams.
  • Cover topics like DI, Arithmetic etc. Learn short tricks to approach questions faster.

Week 4 (Focus on English Language)

 
  • This weak is meant forEnglish Language’
  • Keep a notebook for all imp words and use them. Go through different grammar books.
  • Cover topics like one word substitution, analogy, antonyms and synonyms etc.
