SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus

SSC CGL Exam Centers

Allotment of exam center while applying for SSC CGL is done by taking applicant’s Choice of order. Applicants need to provide a choice of three cities as their SSC CGL Exam Centers. These three cities or centers need to follow specific order of preference; first needs to be the nearest and easily commuted, second can be a neighbor city and third needs to be any other city which can be commuted on time.

  • One need to pick three cities out of 105 cities.
  • All three cities needs to follow order of preference with first being the nearest.
  • Other choices of SSC CGL Exam Centers also need easy to commute.
  • Allotment of Exam Centers will be on first come first serve basis.

Choice of center:

 Candidates need to provide a choice of three cities as their SSC CGL exam centers in the application form.

Order: 

All three Exam centers are to be provided in the candidate’s order of preference. The first preferred city should be easy to travel to write the exam.

Exam Day Instructions

Once the exam center is allotted to an applicant, he/she needs to take care of certain things in the examination hall/center.

  • Dress Code
  • Items not allowed

SSC CGL Dress Code:

SSC strictly instructs a specific dress code during the conduction of SSC CGL Examination. Both male & Female candidates need to follow below mentioned dress code in order to avoid suspension of candidature from SSC CGL 2018-2019.

Dress Code for Male Candidates
  • Male Candidates are advised to Wear light coloured shirt/ t-shirt half sleeves with small buttons.
  • Any traditional wear like kurta or pyjama is not allowed.
  • Only plain sleepers or sandals with toes visible can be worn in the Exam Center
Dress code for Female Candidates
  • Female Candidates are advised to wear Light coloured, half sleeves kurtas or tops, with small buttons.
  • No brooch, flowers, bangles, jewellery, etc are allowed during the exam.
  • Women are not allowed to wear any kind of jewellery except Mangal Sutra.
  • Salwar’s, Patiala’s, and plain simple lowers cannot be worn.
  • Only Jeans or Leggings/ Jeggings can be worn.

Items not Allowed:

Candidates are not allowed to posses following list of items during the exam. If found any, applicants may be asked to leave the examination hall.

  • Stationary item such as bits of papers, textual material (written or printed), Pencil box/ Geometry, Plastic Pouch, Pen, Calculator, Scale, Pen Drive, Writing Pad, Eraser, Log Table, Calculator, Scanner/ Electronic Pen etc.
  • Watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, Bracelet, etc.
  • Communication devices such as Bluetooth, Mobile Phone, Earphones, Pager, Microphone, Health Band etc.
  • Items such as Goggles, Wallet, Handbags, Cap, Belt etc.
  • Ornaments such as Earrings, Ring, Nose-pin, Pendants, Chain/Necklace, Badge, Brooch are not allowed
  • Food items either opened or closed are not allowed.
  • Metallic item such as knife are strictly prohibited.
  • One should not have items that can be used for hiding Bluetooth device, camera

SSC GD Eligibility 2018-19 | Age Limit and Qualification

The SSC (Staff Selection Commission) released the SSC GD Notification 2018-19. Therefore, the following article has entire details of SSC GD Eligibility. The total vacancies are 54,953 for SSC GD Constable posts. Eligibility for SSC GD Constable

SSC GD Eligibility: Age Limit

SSC GD Eligibility: Education Qualification

A candidate’s education qualification plays a huge role in the selection of SSC GD (constable). Therefore, candidates should know the qualifications which enable you to apply for SSC GD. It is mandatory as well as a very important part of SSC GD Eligibility.

Candidates who have completed their 10th/12th/graduation from a renowned university or board are eligible to apply for SSC GD. The aspirants who do not have any level of educational record, are not allowed to apply for the Constable post of SSC GD.

Nationality: SSC GD Eligibility

SSC has certainly set certain criteria in regard to the Nationality of the candidates. So, only those aspirants coming from the pre-decided places will be considered eligible to apply for SSC GD. The aspirants must belong from the areas mentioned below:

  • Indian Citizen
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A subject of Nepal
  • Refugees from Tibet (settled permanently in India before January 1st, 1962)
  • People from Indian origin migrated from East African countries of Kenya, Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the plan to permanently stay in India

SSC Physical Eligibility

The physical test is a very crucial and the last part of SSC GD Eligibility. Candidates who will clear this, only, will get their confirmation call. Also, this exam arrives followed by the online exam of SSC GD.  The standard for physical test set are as follows:

  • First of all, you must qualify in the race event in order to appear in Long jump and High jump events
  • So, only 3 chances are given to clear the Long & High jump events
  • Once banned in the race, no candidate can request for the long and high jump.
  • Candidates can appeal if their height and chest measurements are on the same day of PE and MT
  • Moreover, female aspirants shall not undergo any chest measurements.
  • Also, if any female applicant is pregnant during PE and MT, she will be immediately rejected because they cannot take any tests
  • Furthermore, the candidates who take drugs will be disqualified during Physical Endurance Test right away

10th, 12th and Degree Marks

Candidates need to submit their marks for Class 10th, 12th, and Degree. The marks submitted should be accurate and it shouldn’t be round off of the total marks. Any changes in the Marks, If noticed during document verification process will be taken into account and the candidate will be restricted from being a part of the examination process anymore. So, one needs to calculate the marks properly before submitting it.

Passport size Photograph

The photo which you are going to upload while filling the application needs to be optimized as per the specific requirements mentioned by Railway Recruitment Board for RRB JE Photo format. The image should be in JPEG format with a specified dimension of 35 mm X 45 mm. The size of the image/ Photograph shouldn’t exceed 240 KB.

Aspirants who are not yet aware of changing Image format and size can follow the steps mentioned below;

  • Changing Image Dimension:
  1. Applicants need to open paint at first and open the photograph/ image you need to edit.
  2. Now look for resize and click on it.
  3. Look for pixel and click on it and don’t forget to untick maintain aspect ratio.
  4. Now enter the horizontal and vertical dimensions as per specified requirement and click on OK.
  5. You have successfully changed the dimension of your photograph for RRB JE application.
  • Changing Image Size:
  1. While there are many free tools available on the internet.
  2. Upload the photograph you need to resize and click on compress images.
  3. Click on the download button under section to save the image.

Signature

Same as the photograph, even the signature which you are going to upload needs to be optimized properly as per the specified requirement as per the official Notification for RRB JE signature format. The signature should be uploaded in JPEG format with a specified dimension of 80mm X 35mm. The size of the image shouldn’t exceed 240 KB.

Importance of WBCS Hall Ticket

The Hall Ticket for WBCS 2019 is the mandatory document to carry during the Exam hall at the time of written examination. First of all, the last date to fill the online application for RRB JE examination is 31st January 2019. As far as there are only 13,847 vacant seats available, the competition seems difficult. RRB JE Selection Process for the posts Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant.

RRB JE Selection Process consists of total three (3) stages.
