SSC SI ASI Exam Preparation Tips

The Staff Selection Commission of India conducts examinations every year for the recruitment of Sub Inspector (SI) and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in the Central Industry Security force (CISF) and Delhi Police. The recruits to these forces are prestigious position-holders and the candidates therefore have to face stiff competition from the thousands of applicants. Hence, it is necessary that the candidates be prepared beforehand for the examination.

This article shall provide SSC SI ASI Exam Preparation Tips for the candidates appearing this year.

Examination Pattern

The SSC SI ASI Exam consists of two written examination tests.

Paper 1 (duration-two hours)

It consists of four sections as follows:

Paper 2 (duration-two hours)

It consists of English comprehension mainly.

The candidates will have to clear the individual cut-offs set up by the commission in both the papers. Those who are successful in the written examinations will have to appear for an interview and medical examination/ physical endurance test.

Preparation Tips

Practice is the key to succeed in any competitive examination. With efficient time management skills and adequate preparation, one not only strengthens his/her position the competitive race but also reduces the chances of last minute stresses. The following are the tips that will help you in preparing for the examination:

• General Awareness: It consists of the Static general knowledge and the current affairs. Thus, it is important to read newspapers daily. Also NCERT textbooks of History, Geography, Economics and Science (from class 7^th to 10^th) are suggested to be read.
• General Intelligence and reasoning: This section tests the logical skills of the candidates. Some important topics that need to be practiced are- Number series, Coding-Decoding, Arrangement-Direction, Non-verbal, Classification, Syllogism etc.
• Quantitative Aptitude: This is the most scoring section if one has conceptual clarity and has practiced enough. Some important topics in this section are Ratio and Partnership, Number Theory, Algebra, Percentage, Data Interpretation, Trigonometry and geometry.
• English Language: This section is a test of Vocabulary and basics of English including Grammar, Idioms, Sentence completion and Reading Comprehension.

With adequate practice and determination, you are sure to crack this examination.
