Hello people,

National Development Assistant and Rural Development (NABARD) conducts ‘Preliminary Examination’ on an annual basis to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of ‘Development Assistant”. This year i.e. 2016, NABARD has a target to recruit 85 number of vacancies.

The candidates who manage to qualify the Prelims will only get a chance to sit for the NABARD Mains examination. All they need is an effective preparation strategy along with self- confidence. However, the merit list of the Mains exam will be the toolkit for procedure of final selection. The paper will be an objective one with questions from three sections: Quantitative, Reasoning and English. The pattern of the examination will be as follows:

Those who qualify for the Prelims exam will be called to attend the Mains exam. The merit list of the Mains exam will be the basis for final selection. NABARD has released notifications for the post of Development Assistants and is conducting the examination of NABARD Development Assistant 2016. The opening date of application was 30th August 2016 and date of closing of submission of application was 20th September 2016. The tentative dates of the examination are 10th of November and December 2016.

The examination will be conducted to recruit candidates for 85 number of ‘Development Assistant” posts. The selection procedure is through a ‘Prelims examination’ followed by a ‘Mains examination’ and both of them will be conducted online.

1. Combination of Subjects: The best way to study is to learn the concepts in an easy manner that can allow you to retain it for long. If you are taking two difficult topics or subjects, for instance if you practice the puzzles and the data interpretation on same day you will feel hectic. To resolve this problem, you can choose the combination of one difficult topic of mathematics and one simple topic of reasoning a day and vice versa. Similarly you can also choose the combinations like mathematics and English a day and on the alternate day you can study reasoning with general awareness topics and computer knowledge.

2. Time Allotment: The time allotment for each subject and topic is crucial, you have to make sure that you are not giving unnecessary time for only one topic. First of all make sure that you are giving more time to high weightage topics but amidst this don’t forget to pay attention to moderate scoring topics. Give adequate time to those topics as well.

3. Daily Newspaper Reading: If you are reading newspaper daily and focusing on the special section that is banking, fiscal and development policies and going through the magazines that give information on the latest appointments and development in the banking and agriculture sectors would help you. You just need to give half an hour to newspaper reading daily.

4. Separate Notes and Crisp Rule Book: While making notes and doing notes make sure that you are doing it in separate notebooks. You can also do the section wise mock test and solve each section within limited time, like try to solve the quantitative aptitude and reasoning section in 20-25 minutes for each section for pre exams. And for English section try to solve in 15 minutes.

1. Solving Questions in Mind: It is a smart exercise that you can try while practicing papers at home. Try to use the pen and paper least and do the calculations in your mind and try to unlock the hidden idea to solve question mentally. It will reduce your time to solve the exam and will enable you to solve maximum questions with proper accuracy. Make sure you do such practice only when you are confident enough.

Thorough Learning of Multiplication Tables: The candidates should thoroughly learn multiplication tables, squares, cubes, percentage table as this will help them to reduce major share of time for solving data interpretation questions, numeric series in reasoning and these questions will enable you to fetch huge marks.

3. Checking the Latest Trend: Make sure that you know the latest pattern of topic distribution in other such competitive exams. This will help you to focus on the important topics and you will be prepared for the best. You can analyze the question papers of IBPS, Indian post office exams and you can check question papers of other banks’ exams as well.

4. Write down Basic Rules on Exam Sheet: Have you observed that you are given some decent amount of time before the actual commencement of exam?
