RBI Grade B Examination: Pattern, Cut- off marks and Last Minute Preparation Tips

While preparing for exams, it often comes to our minds that it would have been a lot easier to ace any examination if some kind of magic spell like “Abra ka Dabra” would have helped us answer all the questions in the examination. In case of the RBI Grade B examination, this can happen when the magic spell is “Effective preparation”.
RBI Grade B examination: Pattern
The RBI or Reserve Bank of India is one of the prominent names in the banking sector. The phase 1 of the RBI Grade B examination will be conducted on 4th September 2016 and the paper of Phase 1 will consist of the following sections:
- General Awareness
- English Language
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning
- The entire paper of the phase 1
The entire paper will be of 200 marks. The candidates those who will successfully complete the Phase 1 examination will be eligible for the Phase II of RBI Grade B examination. The phase II examination will comprise of questions worth 300 marks and it will be an online examination. The entire examination will consist all total of three papers i.e. paper 1, paper 2 and paper 3. After this, the candidates will be shortlisted based on the aggregate of marks scored in all three papers of phase 2. The last round will be an interview round which will have questions worth 50 marks.

Note- worthy updates of RBI Grade B examination:
- The examination will be conducted in online mode.
- The phase 1 examination will be of objective type and the phase 2 will consist of some questions which will be descriptive in nature.
- The negative marking will be equal to 1/4th of the marks allotted to each response which is correct. There will be no deductions for questions which are not attempted.

RBI Grade B: Last Minute Preparation Tips
(i) An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of teaching. So, practice the questions of the important topics instead of practising questions from all the sections.
(ii) Take a stop watch and practice sample tests. It will give you a sense of your accuracy and speed and help you improve accordingly.
(iii) Prefer studying in group at times. It will give some quality time to discuss concepts with your friends and you will be able to grasp the concepts well.
(iv) The main weapon to crack RBI Grade B Officers exam is the proper Time Management. Try to manage time properly as it is one of those inevitable factors which will determine your performance.
(iii) Don’t get stuck on a single as you will end up wasting a lot of time which will, in turn, degrade your performance You are not under a compulsion to answer all the questions at any cost. Answer only those questions which you are sure about instead of answering all the questions and ending up with negative marking due to some incorrect answers.
(iv) Last but not the least, Keep calm and believe in yourself. Confidence matters!
