NIACL AO Mains Exam 2017: Last Minute Preparation Tips and Time Management

Dear Aspirants,

New India Assurance company will conduct the phase 2 or mains exam for the recruitment of ‘Administrative Officers’  on  10^th January 2017.

We expect all to be geared up for the exam.  There are few last minute tips which will be beneficial to give a final touch to your exam preparation.

Reasoning Ability

• If practiced well, this section can be highly scoring for you since questions here are usually in sets and there are less chances of getting the solution wrong since it can be verified from the information in question.
• Scoring topics of this section are -
  Syllogism, Inequality, Number Series, Blood Relations, Direction Sense

Quantitative Aptitude

• Good calculation speed will be the key factor to clear this section of the exam since questions of this section can be lengthy and calculative.
• Following are the scoring  topics -
  Number Series, Simplification/ Approximation, Data Interpretation (Ratio and Average based questions),Quadratic Equations (if practiced well)
• Miscellaneous questions are usually calculative and thus should be attempted once you are done with the above mentioned topics.

General Awareness

• This section can help you score some extra marks.
• Try to cover the general affairs news of last 6 months.
• Focus on Static GK .
• Clear all banking related terms and definitions.

English Language

• The understanding level will be a deciding factor for this section. Try to grasp the context of the passage while you read.
• Scoring topics of this section which can be attempted first are -
  Cloze Test, Spotting Errors ,Sentence Improvement and Fill in the blank
• Learn all the Grammar rules and usage.
• Learn as many new words as possible and use them to frame sentences.

Some General Tips to follow:

• Be Confident and have faith in your ability.
• Avoid Negative marks and attempt only questions which you are sure of.
• Solve previous year’s papers.
• Revise and take ample mock tests.
• Do not spend too much time on a particular question.
• Read the instructions mentioned in the call letter and gather all the necessary documents before the exam.
• Be familiar with the exam venue prior to the exam date.
