IBPS SO Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The IBPS SO 2018-19 recruitment is out. A total vacancy of 1599 posts have been announced. As expected, the feature of Sectional Timing has also been introduced in the IBPS SO Exam Pattern. This year IBPS has introduced sectional timing for both prelims and main exam in case of IBPS Clerk and IBPS PO Exam. Hence, you must go through the complete selection process and updated exam pattern for Specialist officer.
IBPS SO Selection Process
IBPS recruits Specialist Officers in different domains as in IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Law Officer, Rajya Sabha Adhikari, HR Officer and Marketing Officer. The selection process for Specialist officer includes 3 stages:
- Preliminary Exam
- Main Exam
- Interview
IBPS SO Exam Pattern
First of all, we have already stated that Specialist Officer recruitment takes place for different domains. Hence, the exam topics are also different for these domains. You can find the detail exam pattern for two different domains given below. You must also remember that for both Prelims and Mains Exam, there is negative marking for both. For your every wrong answer, 0.25 marks shall be deducted.
1.Specialist Officer Exam – Prelims
This year for each section in prelims, a sectional timing of 40 marks has been added. you can find the complete exam pattern below.

The candidates have to qualify every section with minimum cutoff marks as well as attain the overall cut off as decided by the bank. On qualifying, they will be eligible for appearing in the Mains Exam for Specialist Officer.
