Note: The number of questions from each section are 40 questions. So, the total number of questions are 240. The time duration of the exam is 2 hours.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale I and II Mains 2016: Section- wise tips and important topics

Whenever you go for a ‘smart preparation’, prepare for important topics from which questions will be asked. Never go for preparing all the topics as it won’t yield you significant results.

Quantitative Aptitude:

  1. Try to save some time some time from the rest of the sections like English Language, Reasoning Ability, General Awareness etc. Invest the extra time in this section and you will be able to solve more and more number of questions.

Day 1- Plan:

  • Go through any three topics of Quant (say Simplification/ Approximation, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage and Averages etc.)
  • After this, pick up any three topics of Reasoning (say Inequality, Coding and Decoding)
  • Pick up one topic from English Language (say Cloze Test)
  • Allot a duration of 2 hours to any two topics of General Awareness

Day 2 - Plan:

  • Go through any two topics of Quant (say DI, Number Series)
  • After this, pick up any two topics of Reasoning (say Syllogism and Coding and Decoding)
  • Pick up one topic from English Language (say Sentence Correction /Error Correction)
  • Allot a duration of 2 hours to any two topics of ‘Computer Knowledge’

Day 3- Plan:

  • Pick up and prepare any three topics of Quant (say Number Series, Time and Distance, Pipes and Cisterns)
  • After this, pick up any one topic of Reasoning (say Data Sufficiency)
  • Pick up and prepare one topic from English Language (say Para Jumbles)
  • Allot a duration of 2 hours to any two topics of ‘General Knowledge’

Plans for Day 8, Day 9 and Day 10: In the last three days, attempt quizzes and mock tests. GO through different questions from different sections and analyse your performance.
