The IBPS PO Prelims Oct 2016 is done with the 2^nd slot of the day. The second slot of the examination was held 10: 30 AM onwards. We had a word with the candidates and asked about the questions asked in the examination. The response from the students was quite appealing and we could get data for the analysis. The results of the IBPS PO Prelims 2016 will be declared in the month of November 2016. All you need to do is go through the analysis and make a list of the topics which are frequently asked. You can then prepare these topics for the upcoming slots.

English Language Section:

Good Attempts for this section: An attempt of 15- 20 number of questions can be a great attempt to clear the cut- off.

Difficulty Level: The questions asked from this section were of moderate level.

Analysis:

1. Reading Comprehension – 7 Questions – (Moderate)
2. Note:- No Synonym Antonym questions were asked
3. Cloze Test (Based on Economy) – 8 Questions (Easy)
4. Spotting Error/ Sentence Correction – 10 Questions (Moderate)
5. Para jumbles – 5 Questions (Moderate)

Quantitative Aptitude Section:

Good Attempts for this section: An attempt of 20- 24 number of questions can be a great attempt to clear the cut- off.

Difficulty Level: The questions asked from this section were of easy- moderate level.

Analysis:

1. Number Series – 5 Questions (Moderate)
2. Approximation/ Simplification – 5 Questions (Easy)
3. Data Interpretation (2 Sets) (Line graph and Tabular graph)- 10 Questions (Easy to Moderate)
4. Quadratic Equation – 5 Questions (Easy)
5. Miscellaneous Questions – 10 Questions (Moderate)

Some of the topics from which miscellaneous questions were asked include – Age, Probability, Partnership, Profit Loss, Average, Boats & Stream, Compound/Simple Interest, Time & Work, etc.

Reasoning Ability Section:

Good Attempts for this section: An attempt of 20- 24 number of questions can be a great attempt to clear the cut- off.

Difficulty Level: The questions asked from this section were of moderate level.

Analysis:

1. Syllogism – 5 Questions (Easy)
2. Inequality – 5 Questions (Easy)
3. Puzzle and Arrangement (Floor arrangement, Circular arrangement, Linear arrangement) - 15 Questions (Moderate)
4. Miscellaneous Questions (Blood Relation, Direction based) – 10 Questions (Easy to Moderate)
   Note: No Coding – Decoding Questions were asked.
