The IBPS Probationary Officer examination pattern 2016 has changed completely. That is why, it is important to be aware about these changes. The candidates should qualify three main stages before getting their seats allotted. Let us have a look at these stages and their exam syllabus.

Stage-I: – IBPS PO 2016 Preliminary Examination

The level of questions asked in Prelim examinations is not very difficult at this stage. It consist of three main sections, which are depicted below-

For every correct answer, you get 1 mark and for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted.

The candidates should qualify through each section so as to pass Stage-III. After you have given your objective test, a descriptive question paper will appear on the screen. It will have English Language related questions.

Stage-III: – Personal Interview

In this stage, the candidates shall be judged on the basis of many factors. The panel of judges consist from the representatives from different banks.

IBPS PO 2016 Exam Syllabus

  • English language: Reading Comprehension, Jumbled Sentences, Error Corrections
  • Reasoning Section:  Input–output (machine coding and decoding), Sentence coding, Logical Reasoning, Syllogism, Puzzle, Seating Arrangement, Data Sufficiency, Directions etc.
  • General Awareness, Marketing, and Computer: Current Affairs, Banking Awareness, Marketing, Computer Awareness
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Line graphs, Bar chart, Pie chart, Tables, Probability
