Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has recently released an official notice regarding the recruitment of Office Assistant and Officers in Scale I, II, and III. The exam will be held on 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th August, and 1st September 2018. As there are only two months left before the exam, we hope that you have started preparing with full determination. If you haven’t done so, we suggest you start now. The exam pattern for both the posts is the same. The only difference is the difficulty level of the exam – more difficult for Officer Scale I compared to Office Assistant. How to Prepare for IBPS RRB Prelims 2018

Good news, guys! The Preliminary exam for IBPS RRB consists of two sections only – Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability. You will get total of 45 minutes to complete both the sections. So, you need to assign around 20 minutes each for each section. Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for each incorrect attempt. And therefore, you should attempt only those questions which you are 100% sure of. Also, keep in mind that this exam is of qualifying nature only. So, don’t stress your mind trying to score excessively high. You only need to clear the cutoff score.

#1stWeek Preparation Strategy

  • Clear your concepts on the following topics from Numerical – Ratio & Proportion, Percentages & Averages, and from Reasoning – Linear and Circular Seating Arrangement, and Puzzles.
  • Devote three hours to each section on a daily basis.
  • Give topic tests and quizzes on the same.

#2ndWeek Preparation Strategy

  • Work on the following topics – Number System and Simplification/Approximation from Numerical, and Coding Decoding and Blood Relations from Reasoning.
  • practice previous year questions on the same.

#3rdWeek Preparation Strategy

  • Devote your time on the following – Interest, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Time & Distance from Numerical and Syllogism and Coded Inequalities from Reasoning.
  • Practice as many problems as you can during this time.

#4thWeek Preparation Strategy

  • Give your time to the following – Data Interpretation, Permutation/Combination, and Probability from Numerical, and Data Sufficiency, Ordering & Ranking, Direction Sense, Input-Output from Reasoning.
  • Attempt Mock Tests and evaluate your skills.

#5thWeek Preparation Strategy

  • Dedicate your time to the remaining miscellaneous topics like – Mixtures & Alligations from Numerical and Alphanumeric Series and Non-verbal Reasoning from Reasoning.
  • Start attempting Full-Length Mock Tests on a daily basis.
  • Work on your weak areas after evaluating your performance.
  • Practice more of those questions which you could not solve.

#6thWeek Preparation Strategy

  • Take one Full-Length Mock Test daily and analyse your performance.
  • Practice previous year papers and sample papers.
  • Dedicate time to your weak areas.
  • Give Speed Tests to improve time-management skills and speed.

#7thWeek Preparation Strategy

  • Continue taking Mock Tests and Speed Tests to improve your score gradually.
  • Go through your notes and revise.

#8thWeek Preparation Strategy

  • Revise important rules and formulae.
  • Attempt Online Tests and Speed Tests till the last day.
  • Have proper food and rest.
  • Peform recreational activities during breaks to keep your mind refreshed.
