Interim order issued by Madras High Court on SBI clerk prelims 2016 exam

With the announcement of the SBI Clerks Prelims 2016 exam result, the candidates who have received their call letters are still under the influence of confusion. Considering the PIL filed by one of the aspirants in Madras High Court, fate of one of the biggest recruitment drives in the banking sector has been left undecided. However, the students need not worry, at least for now.

Good news for the selected candidates

Even though the final verdict by the Madras High Court on SBI clerk prelims 2016 exam is yet to be announced, but the court has given some relief to the candidates. The court recently said that SBI can, as of now, go ahead with its SBI clerk selection procedure 2016, but also cautioned the bank to consider its final judgement.

The Madras High Court said that the final order by the court still had the capacity to impact the SBI clerk 2016 recruitment for 17000 junior agricultural associates and junior associates.

A short background of the case

Among various eligibility criteria, SBI also mentioned that the candidates who were educational loan defaulters were not eligible to appear for this exam. This left thousands of educational loan defaulters barred from applying/ appearing for the exam.

One of the aspirants for SBI Clerk 2016 exam, in turn, filed a PIL in the Madras High Court against SBI.

The court, after this, also ordered the bank for explanation on the matter. Final verdict of the court is still pending. But, the short shower of relief has been given by the court on the examination.

It is vital to note here that the interim order issued by Madras High Court on SBI clerk prelims 2016 exam will bring about a few positive notions among the candidates. But, it is still too early to say what the Madras High Court shall decide on SBI clerk prelims 2016 exam.

As of now, the candidates who have been selected for the SBI clerk 2016 should download their call letters and prepare for the SBI Clerk Mains exam 2016
