тЧП        For the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, software version of Ganda Finale of Hackathon will be held on 30 and 31 March 2018 in the GV Barnard College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli, Karnataka.

Niti Aayog releases baseline ranking for 101 ambitious districts
 
тЧП        On March 28, 2018, the Commission released the rankings for 101 Ambitious Districts across the country.
тЧП        This ranking was released on the basis of 49 parameters.
тЧП        It is related to many areas including standard health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources.
тЧП        These include financial inclusion, skill development and basic infrastructure.
тЧП        The government has identified 101 districts for the transformation of backward districts.
тЧП        By not calling these districts the backward district, the government named them as 'Aspirational District'.

Central Government partnered with Kaushal Bharat for has shared partnership with India for Saubhagya Yojana
 
тЧП       The Central Government partnered with the Union Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry on March 27, 2018, to train labor force in six states for the immediate implementation of its 'Saubhagya' scheme.
тЧП        'Saubhagya' scheme is also known as Prime Minister's Sarp electricity every household scheme.
тЧП        The goal of this scheme is to provide electricity to all the houses located in all parts of the country in a time bound manner.
тЧП        Under this plan, there is hope for transmission of electricity to about 40 million households.

Manipal Hospitals Acquired Fortis Hospitals
 
тЧП        Manipal Health Enterprises acquired Fortis Healthcare Limited on March 28, 2018.
тЧП        This deal was officially announced.
тЧП        After completion of the deal, the joint company will be built.
тЧП        Under this deal, the Fortis Healthcare Hospital will sell the business to Manipal Hospital.
тЧП        Promotional TPG in Manipal Hospital will invest Rs 3,900 crores
 
Judge Jawad Rahim appointed acting guardian of NGT
 
тЧП        The appointment has been done by a committee headed by Chief Justice of India Justice Justice Deepak Mishra, on the petition of Justice A.M.Khanvilkar and Justice DK Chandrachud.
тЧП        In the petition, the NGT (Practice and Procedure) Amendment Act, 2017 has been stated as unconstitutional, in which there is a provision for a bench of single judge to set up the dispute.
тЧП        The petition said that this is against the spirit of the NGT Act, 2010.

тЧП        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the proposal of the Department of School Education and Literacy to create a new Integrated Education Plan on March 28, 2018.
тЧП        This scheme will be prepared on the basis of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), National Secondary Education Campaign (RMSA) and teacher education campaign.
тЧП        This plan will be applicable from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2020.
тЧП        The cabinet has approved the allocation of Rs. 75 thousand crore for the proposed scheme.
тЧП        This amount is 20 percent more than the allotted amount.

 Cabinet approves amendment to the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act


тЧП        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet approved amendments to the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act. These amendments have been done in the backdrop of considering the date of 2 January 2018 in the Lok Sabha and after which the Parliamentary Committee related to the department is sent for consideration.
тЧП        The government has considered the views / suggestions given by parliamentary committee on the approval of the report submitted on March 20, 2018 and the medical students and those related to medical profession in Parliament.
  
Approval for formulation of new integrated education plan for April 1, 2018 to March, 2020


тЧП        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the proposal of the School Education and Literacy Department to create a new Integrated Education Plan for the period 01 April 2018 to 31 March, 2020.
тЧП        In the proposed scheme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), National Secondary Education Campaign (RMSA) and teacher education campaign will be included.
тЧП        75 thousand crores have been sanctioned for the proposed scheme.
тЧП        This amount is 20 percent more than the allotted amount.
 
 NAFED signed a one-time solution agreement with eight creditor banks


тЧП        The Indian National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Association Limited (NAFED) has signed a one-time solution agreement with its eight creditor banks.
тЧП        Under this agreement, NAFED has transferred assets worth Rs.220 crores and properties located at Lawrence Road, New Delhi, estimated at Rs.254 crores to banks.
тЧП        Along with this, Nafed has transferred the auction rights of some of the shops of Mega Mall located in Andheri Mumbai, of its debtor company.
 
Permission to export bulk of all edible oils except mustard oil


тЧП        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to remove the restrictions on exports of large amounts of edible oils except all mustard oil.
тЧП        Permission to export five kilograms of consumer pack will be continued at a minimum price of 900 US dollars per ton for mustard oil.
тЧП        The Committee of Economic Affairs has also given its approval to the Committee headed by the Secretary, Food and Public Distribution Department.
 
Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Shri Harsimrat Kaur will inaugurate the first mega food park of Rajasthan in Ajmer tomorrow


тЧП        Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal will inaugurate the first Mega Food Park in Rupnagana village in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
тЧП        About 25 thousand farmers of Ajmer and neighboring districts will benefit from this Mega Food Park, built at a cost of Rs. 113.57 crores.

тЧП        Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has launched Pensioner Portal.
тЧП        From this portal on the EPFO website, the pensioner can get all the pension related information such as pension payment order number, pensioner payment order details, pensioner passbook information, date of pension deposit, pensioner life certificate etc.
тЧП        In case of failure of the pensioner's certificate or acceptance of the life certificate of the pensioner, it will help in getting information regarding the status of life certificate.
тЧП        It also provides details of pension prevention and cause information.

тЧП        Between India and the United Kingdom, there is already agreement for crime receipts and crime measures (including currency transfers involved) and for the search, restraint and seizure of terrorist funds.

тЧП        The Union Cabinet has approved the closure of the Indo-Development Foundation (IDF-OI) of Indians living abroad, so that the contributions of the Overseas Indians to the National Program for Major Programs like Clean Ganga Mission and Clean India Mission Coordination can be extended.
тЧП        With the approval of the Cabinet in 2008, the government had set up IDF-II as an autonomous non-profit trust, to facilitate the contribution of Overseas Indians voluntarily in the social and development projects of India.
 
Agreement between India and Guyana on cooperation in renewable energy


тЧП        The Union Cabinet was apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Guyana for cooperation in renewable energy.
тЧП        The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Minister of State for Power and Innovation and Renewable Energy (Independent Charge), Shri RK Singh, and the Vice President of Guyana and his Excellency Mr. Karl B. Grinz, Foreign Minister on 30 January 2018.
тЧП        The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to create a basis for cooperative institutional relations to encourage technical bilateral cooperation on matters of innovative and renewable energy on the basis of mutual benefit, equality and mutual exchange in both countries.

тЧП        The Central Cabinet has approved the financial allocation of 3000 crore rupees by 2020 to the North-Eastern Development Plan (NEIDS), 2017.

тЧП        Bihar Day was organized to celebrate its historic relationship with the capital of Bihar in a small town called Patna, located in the Eastern Ayrshire area of Scotland.
тЧП        Scottish farmer William Fullerton set up a small town in 1802, to give a residential facility to the people working in the Schelden State and coal mines, which he named after Bihar's capital Patna.
