Cap On educational Concession to Children of Missing/ Disabled/ Killed Soldiers Removed 


●        The government has decided to continue the academic concession without the maximum prescribed limit of Rs 10,000 per month to the children of employees below the Officers / Officers rank of the Armed Forces who died in the disappearance / lightning / war.
●        The Ministry of Defense gave the Finance Ministry two times about this, after which the Finance Ministry has agreed on this.

Cabinet approved the government's largest funded health program- Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Mission (NHPM)


●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central cabinet approved the central government-sponsored National Health Conservation Mission.
●        In this mission, the central government share will be available under Ayushmann Bharat which is a program under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
●        Thanking Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and continuous guidance, Shri Nadda said that NHPM is an important step towards universal health coverage.
 
Gratuity Payment (Amendment) Bill, 2018 Passed in Parliament


●        Parliament passed the Gratuity Payment (Amendment) Bill, 2018 today.
●      With the passage of the bill, there was a parallel between gratuity between the private sector and public sector undertakings / autonomous organizations under the government who did not come under the CCS (Pension) Rules.
●        Such employees will also be entitled to get the highest amount of gratuity, like government employees in front of them.

India will become self-reliant in silk production by 2020
 
●        Talking to media persons today, Union Textile Minister Smt. Zubin Irani said that India will be self-reliant in silk production by 2020.
●        The cabinet has approved the integrated plan for the development of silk industry.
●        This is expected to increase by 62 percent in the production of high level silk (vivoltine) by 2020.
 
8th National Painting Competition


●        Under the 'Information, Education and Communication' scheme of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation, the central land water board for the school children on March 26, 2018. P. Sinde is organizing 8th National Painting Competition in Auditorium, Pusa, New Delhi.
●        Central Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation, Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari will be the Chief Guest of the program and will award prizes to the winners.


Cambridge Analytica Scandal


●        The world's largest social media platform Facebook has reported the leak of private information about 5 million users.
●        In this case recently Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has admitted that his company has made mistakes.
●        In fact, Cambridge Analytica, an app maker for Facebook, has been accused of stealing personal information of people during the US presidential election and extending the benefits of that data to political parties.
 
National High Education Mission Plan has been approved till 2020


●        The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the Centrally Sponsored Scheme, National Higher Education Campaign from 01 April, 2017 to 31 March, 2020.
●        Under this campaign, the central government allocates funds to states for higher education.
●        Under RUSA, the goal of the government is to increase the total enrollment ratio from 20 percent to 30 percent by 2020.
 
Kumar Mangalam will be chairman of the company formed by the merger of Vodafone-Aida


●        Idea Cellular and Vodafone Group announced on Thursday the new team for their merger unit.
●        Under this, Kumar Mangalam Birla will be the non-executive chairman of the new unit.
●        Balesh Sharma will be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of this new unit.


Sherry Rehman becomes Senate's first woman leader


●        Pakistan's parliamentarian Sherry Rehman has been elected the first woman leader of the Opposition in the Upper House Senate of the country's parliament .
●        Sheri (57) is associated with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP).
●        She has been Pakistan's Ambassador to the US between 2011 and 2013.
●        He was elected to the Senate in 2015.

President of India presents Standard to the 51 Squadron and Colours to the 230 Signal Unit of the Indian Air Force


●    The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, presented the Standard to the 51 Squadron and Colours to the 230 Signal Unit of the Indian Air Force at Halwara, Punjab, today (March 22, 2018).
●    Speaking on the occasion, the President said that the 51 Squadron and the 230 Signal Unit have distinguished themselves in service to our nation. 
 
50 Half Marathon was organized in the last 50 days by the Army team of the Indian Army EME


●        Lt Gen Sarath Chand, Vice Chief of the Army Staff, flagged the team of 'EME Ultra Run' under the leadership of Lt Col Vishal Ahlawat and Major Sandeep Kumar, who completed the extremely harsh and challenging obligation of running 1055 km race.
●        He congratulated the team on displaying uncounted team spirit, determination and perseverance.
●        'EME Ultra Run' was started on February 01, 2018.
●        This race is being organized this year to celebrate Platinum Jubilee by the EME military team.

Smart India Hackathon - 2018


●        The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology announced today that the multi-awaited Smart India Hackathon - 2018 program will be organized simultaneously on 28 and 31 March, 2018 across 28 model centers across India.
●        27 ministries and 17 state governments have become partners in this grand initiative.
●        Hyderabad is the nodal center of Central Electronics and Information Technology Ministry. Ministry is a key ally of this initiative.

Construction of 10 million houses will be completed by March 2019 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana


●        PMAY (G) was started from Agra, Uttar Pradesh on November 20, 2016 (14 months ago) by Hon'ble Prime Minister.
●        It aims to complete the construction work of 10 million houses by March 31, 2019.
●        Due to lack of construction work of some Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) houses, the Rural Development Department had set a target of 1.02 crore houses, including the construction work of 2 lakh houses of Indira Awaas Yojana.

China's Space Station to hit Earth next week


●        China's uncontrollable space station with extremely poisonous chemicals can soon hit the world's largest cities, including New York.
●        China's first space station Tiangong-1 can hit the ground between March 30 and April 6.
●        The space station, weighing eight and eight tons, had lost control in 2016 and since then it has been falling on the ground.
●        According to the scientists, most of this spacecraft will be burnt down while falling, but 10 to 40 percent of the share can be left as debris and may contain hazardous chemicals.
 
 
Maldivian President removed emergency from country


●        Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen, while citing the situation in the country to be normal, removed the emergency for 45 days on Thursday.
●        The political crisis in the Maldives came after the Supreme Court ordered the release of political prisoners.
●        Refusing to accept this order, President Abdulla Yameen had imposed emergency on February 5 for 15 days.
●        It was later extended for 30 days.
 

US Federal Reserve raises 25 basis points in interest rates


●        US central bank Federal Reserve raises interest rates by 25 basis points (0.25%) in the policy meeting, citing a strong economic scenario.
●        Along with this, interest rates have increased from 1.5 percent to 1.75 percent.
●        Jerome Powell, chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, described the decision as a stepping stone to monetary policy.
