President inaugurates innovation and entrepreneurship celebrations;

●        President Shri Ramnath Kovind today inaugurated the Innovation and Festivity of Entrepreneurship (Fine) at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and presented the Gandhian Youth Technology Innovation Award.
●        On this occasion, the President said that to build a relatively new and better India, some developmental objectives need to be completed, some of them will be celebrated in the year 2022 when we celebrate 75th anniversary of our independence.
 
Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the International Yoga Festival on March 21, representatives of 16 countries will participate in it.

●        The three-day International Yoga Festival will be held from 21 March to 23 March 2018 at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
●        The International Yoga Festival is being organized as a preview of International Yoga Day (IDY) 2018.
●        This program is being organized by Morarji Desai National Yoga Institute (MDNIY).
 
 Draft of Agricultural Export Policy made publicly available

●        In order to realize the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'doubling of income of farmers', Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu has taken initiative to draft a 'Agricultural Export Policy' in the wider interest of farmers and agricultural exports. 
●        Ministry of Commerce and Industry has introduced a draft 'Agricultural Export Policy', which aims to double the agricultural exports and integrate the farmers and agricultural products of India with the global value chain.
 
In order to promote tourism in the North-East, four MoUs under the aegis of the Ministry of Donor were signed.

●        The presence of senior officials of the Central Northeast Region Development Minister (Independent Charge) and PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Minister of State of Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh and senior officials of the Department of Donor, 

NEC and various other organizations. Four MoUs (MoUs) were signed today under the aegis of Donor.

●        After signing the above agreements, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the development of the North-Eastern region has a special significance for overall inclusive growth in India and keeping in view the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the North-Eastern region, the development of tourism sector is our focus areas. 

One of the monuments coming under the Taj Mahal "Acceptance of Heritage Project"

●        Tajmahal is one of the monuments under the "Acceptance of Heritage Project" launched on World Tourism Day, 2017.
●        In addition to the Taj Mahal, for issuing Vision bids for 75 destinations, 24 letters are being issued to the Agencies.
●        Two hues have been received for the Taj Mahal, but no decision has been taken so far.

Policy Commission released SATH-Education Roadmap 2018-2020 on March 17, 2018

Recommendation of granting status of Lingayat to different religion by Karnataka government
 
●        Karnataka's Siddaramaiah government has approved the demand for separate religion status on the Lingayat community on March 19, 2018.
●        This proposal has been sent to the Center for approval.
●        Nagamohan Das Committee was constituted to consider Lingayat demand.
●        The state cabinet has accepted the recommendations of the committee.
 
Discovering new species of insects living in water in Nagaland

●        The team of scientists of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have discovered some new insects on water in Nagaland.
●        Scientists discover the insects of Tilomera Nagaland, Jehmar and Chandra in the INTakki river.
●        These pests will be known only in the name of Nagaland. In this regard, in the journal Jutexa, the research report was published in January 2018.

FCRA Amendment Bill passed
 
●        The Lok Sabha passed amendment in the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act-2010 (FCRA).
●        This act prevents foreign corporation from funding political parties.
●        Under this, the investigation of foreign funds received till now since 1976 will not take place.
●        The Central Government has also amended the FCRA under the Finance Bill 2016, which will enable the political parties to easily take foreign donations.

●        Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Deputy Chairman, Policy Commission today inaugurated the first India-Japan Workshop on the subject of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) here today.
●        The two-day workshop is jointly organized by the Home Ministry, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Japanese Government.
 
Indian Railways handed over 18 microprocessor controlled Indian rail engines to Myanmar Railway

●        According to Vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Indian Railways is playing an important role in developing cordial relations with neighboring countries.
●        India and Myanmar have been collaborating in the field of rail for the last two decades.
●        In order to further encourage cooperation between the two countries, the Minister of State for Railways, Mr. Rajen Gohain, was present in the ceremony of formally giving the 18 AC-DC 1350, HP diesel electric engine, Myanmar Railway to Myanmar.

About 6.25 lakh children in India smoke every day

●        According to the Global Tobacco Atlas Report, more than 6.25 lakh children in India smoke daily, which is a serious warning to public health.
●        Tobacco use consumes 17,887 lives every week in the country.

United Nations urges $ 95.1 Crore million for Rohingya refugees

Cabinet approves recommendations of inter-ministerial group on the encumbered assets in telecom sector

●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet today gave its approval for two important steps to increase investment, telecom and strengthening the sector.
●        In addition to the currently approved 10 installments, by giving opportunity of one time to opt for maximum installments (maximum of 16 installments).
●        Incremented installments are based on the principle that the net present value of the outstanding payment (NPV) is preserved as per the notice regarding inviting applications for spectrum auction from 2012.

Cabinet Approves Mediation and Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2018

●        In the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the introduction of mediation and reconciliation legislation, 2018 in the Lok Sabha.
●        It is part of the Government's effort to encourage institutional arbitration to resolve disputes and it makes India a center of strong alternative dispute resolution (ADR) system.

500 quintals of mango wood will be burned to reduce pollution

●        A nine-day grand law has started from Sunday in Meerut city of UP.
●        350 Brahmins from Varanasi are doing great things with 500 quintals of mangoes on the Bhansali ground in the city so that 'pollution can be reduced'.

Cabinet approves MoU on renewable energy cooperation between India and Helenik

●        The Union Cabinet was apprised of the agreement on cooperation between India and Helenik in renewable energy sector.
●        This MoU was signed during November 2017 during the visit of His Excellency Foreign Minister, His Excellency Nicos Kottajeet to New Delhi.
●        On behalf of India, the MoD was signed by External Affairs Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj and Helenik Foreign Minister HE NICHOS Kottajeet.

Union Cabinet approved the MoU between the Union Public Service Commission and the Public Service Commission of Mauritius.

●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Union Public Service Commission and the Public Service Commission of Mauritius.
●        The Memorandum will strengthen the existing relationship between the Union Public Service Commission and the Public Service Commission of Mauritius.
●        This will facilitate exchange of experiences and expertise of the two sides in the recruitment area.
●        The Memorandum will develop institutional contacts between the two public service commissions.

 86 percent of the country's population does not have health insurance
 
●        The Healthcare Federation of India (Nathealth) says that the government should make health insurance compulsory for all citizens of the country and the health sector should be given primary area status.
●        Nathelth said that currently only 4% of the population of the country has health insurance coverage.
●        In India, 86 per cent of the total expenditure on health care is not covered.
 
SEBI ban imposed on investment adviser

●        Market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India has banned Research Analyst Anirudh Sethi from the securities market, while screwing up investment advice given by online investment advisory companies without registration.
●        He has also been asked to return money collected from investors.
●        SEBI found that many deposit entries of Rs 36,000 were found from different parts of the country between April 1, 2013 and April 20, 2016 in Sethi's bank account.
 
No claimant for Rs 11,300 crore deposited in 64 banks across the country

●        According to the recent data released by the Reserve Bank , there are no claimants of Rs 11,302 crore deposited in more than 3 crore accounts of 64 banks in the country .
●        The highest amount is Rs 1,262 crore in the State Bank of India, whereas in Punjab National Bank, 1,250 crore and other government banks, the total amount is Rs 7,040 crore, which has no claimants.
●        However, this amount is only a small part of Rs 100 lakh crore deposited in banks across India.

●        Tara's lawyer Simranjit Singh gave this information.

GST is very complex in India: World Bank Report

●        The report says that GST in India is very complex.
●        The World Bank report says that compared to 115 countries, the tax rate in India is the second highest.
●        There are 5 tax slabs in GST implemented on 1 July 2017.

●        This program improves the care of pregnant women in the delivery room, operation theater and maternity intensive care units (ICU), high dependency units (HDU).
●        The target program is being implemented in all Medical College Hospitals, District Hospitals and First Referral Unit (FRU) and Community Health Centers (CHC).
 
 Assamese buffalo cloning for the first time in India

●        Indian scientists have claimed success in cloning technology for the first time born of Assamese breed buffalo.
●        The team of scientists of the Central Buffalo Research Institute (CIRB) used a special method.
●        Having achieved this success in creating a clone of Assamese buffalo. Its name was 'true pride'.

●        Intellectual Property Rights Promotion and Management Cell is organizing a national conference on the role of counterfeiting and enforcement agencies in New Delhi on 13-14 March, 2018, under the aegis of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Union Home Minister medal for excellence in Police investigation

●        The Government has approved the proposal for introduction of 'Union Home Minister Medal for Excellence in Police Investigation' to promote the promotion of high professional standards of crime investigation (investigation) in the state / UT police and central investigating agencies in the country.
●        Officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police from the Deputy Superintendent of Police will be eligible.
●        On the basis of the average crime statistics of the last three years, 162 medals per year will be provided, out of which 137 medals are from States / Union Territories and 25 Central Investigation Agencies .... The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will be for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Drug Control Bureau (NCB).

Quarterly Employment Survey (July-September, 2017)

●        Labor Bureau has been conducting quarterly employment surveys (new categories) from April 2016, which aims at estimating relative change in employment conditions during the succeeding quarters, in which 8 large areas like manufacturing, construction, trade, transport, education, health , Include large sections of non-agricultural industrial economy like housing and restaurants and IT / BPO .
●        This survey consists of establishments having employees of 10 or more.
●        According to the Sixth Economic Census (6th EC), 81% of the total employed in the workforce of 10 or more workers (organized sector) in these 8 sectors employed.
 
 Approval of road reconstruction projects for West Bengal

●        Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the reconstruction and upgradation of 11.9 km stretch of NH-31 between Ghoshpukur and Bihar turn in Bagdogra of Darjeeling district of West Bengal.
●        This road will be upgraded to four lanes under the EPC turn at a cost of approximately Rs 254.30 crores.
●        This project will be completed in two years.
 
 Road strengthening projects for Odisha

●        Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the reconstruction and upgradation of two road segments in Odisha state.
●        From the 173/370 kms to 229/400 kms, the 53.79-km long segment of NH-59 will be strengthened and widened in two lanes with a permanent slope under EPC mode at a cost of approximately Rs 214.23 crores.
 
Road rehabilitation projects approved for Punjab
●        Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the rehabilitation and upgradation of three road routes in Punjab.
●        The National Highway between Machu will be upgraded to two lane along with a permanent slope under EPC mode.
●        The length of this section is approximately 24.60 km. is.
●        About 130.313 crore rupees will be spent on this project.

Center constitutes Mahanadi Water Dispute Tribunal

●        Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection Ministry today issued a notification regarding the formation of Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal.
●        The headquarters of the tribunal will be in Delhi and the following person nominated by the Chief Justice of India will be its members:
●        Judge of the Supreme Court, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar
●        As a member of the Patna High Court Judge Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan

Foreign investors pulled out Rs 6,000 crore from Indian market

●    Due to better opportunities in other emerging countries, withdrawal of foreign investors from the Indian capital market continues.
●    Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) has cleared nearly Rs 6,000 crore in just 6 business days of the current month.
●    According to the depository data, between March 1 and 9, March, FPI has raised Rs 2,410 crore from the stock market and the date
●    3,473 crore withdrawal from the market. Thus, these investors have withdrawn a total of Rs 5,883 crore.

SpiceJet deals with CFM International for 810 billion rupees 

●    SpiceJet, the cheap aviation company, said on Saturday that it has tied up with CFM International to buy 155 engines of Boeing-737 MAX aircraft, with an approximate value of 810 billion rupees.
●    Spares engines will also be purchased with this.
●    CFM develops engines of international aircraft. It is a 50:50-share company of American General Electric and France's Safran Aircraft Engine.
