Suresh Prabhu took charge of the Ministry of Civil Aviation


●        Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry, today took additional charge of Civil Aviation Ministry, saying that the aviation sector is one of the fastest growing areas of the Indian economy.
●        On this occasion, he said that the free sky policy has seen an increase in the aviation sector and the benefits of this increase will be seen as an increase in employment generation.
●        Due to increased air connectivity and cheap fare, people of small towns have started to fly for work and vacations.
 
National conference on the role of counterfeiting and enforcement agencies


●        Intellectual Property Rights Promotion and Management Cell is organizing a national conference on the role of counterfeiting and enforcement agencies in New Delhi on 13-14 March, 2018, under the aegis of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
●        Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Suresh Prabhu will inaugurate this two-day conference in the presence of DIPP Secretary Mr. Ramesh Abhishek.
●        The rapid increase in the cases of counterfeiting has affected the world.
 
 
Union Home Minister medal for excellence in Police investigation


●        The Government has approved the proposal for introduction of 'Union Home Minister Medal for Excellence in Police Investigation' to promote the promotion of high professional standards of crime investigation (investigation) in the state / UT police and central investigating agencies in the country.
●        Officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police from the Deputy Superintendent of Police will be eligible.
●        On the basis of the average crime statistics of the last three years, 162 medals per year will be provided, out of which 137 medals are from States / Union Territories and 25 Central Investigation Agencies .... The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will be for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Drug Control Bureau (NCB).

Quarterly Employment Survey (July-September, 2017)


●        Labor Bureau has been conducting quarterly employment surveys (new categories) from April 2016, which aims at estimating relative change in employment conditions during the succeeding quarters, in which 8 large areas like manufacturing, construction, trade, transport, education, health , Include large sections of non-agricultural industrial economy like housing and restaurants and IT / BPO .
●        This survey consists of establishments having employees of 10 or more.
●        According to the Sixth Economic Census (6th EC), 81% of the total employed in the workforce of 10 or more workers (organized sector) in these 8 sectors employed.
 
 Approval of road reconstruction projects for West Bengal


●        Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the reconstruction and upgradation of 11.9 km stretch of NH-31 between Ghoshpukur and Bihar turn in Bagdogra of Darjeeling district of West Bengal.
●        This road will be upgraded to four lanes under the EPC turn at a cost of approximately Rs 254.30 crores.
●        This project will be completed in two years.
 
 Road strengthening projects for Odisha


●        Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the reconstruction and upgradation of two road segments in Odisha state.
●        From the 173/370 kms to 229/400 kms, the 53.79-km long segment of NH-59 will be strengthened and widened in two lanes with a permanent slope under EPC mode at a cost of approximately Rs 214.23 crores.
 
Road rehabilitation projects approved for Punjab
●        Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the rehabilitation and upgradation of three road routes in Punjab.
●        The National Highway between Machu will be upgraded to two lane along with a permanent slope under EPC mode.
●        The length of this section is approximately 24.60 km. is.
●        About 130.313 crore rupees will be spent on this project.

Center constitutes Mahanadi Water Dispute Tribunal


●        Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection Ministry today issued a notification regarding the formation of Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal.
●        The headquarters of the tribunal will be in Delhi and the following person nominated by the Chief Justice of India will be its members:
●        Judge of the Supreme Court, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar
●        As a member of the Patna High Court Judge Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan
●        As a member of the Delhi High Court Judge Justice Indermeet Kaur Kochhar
 
 One-Day Conference on Development of Command Area


●        One-day conference on development of the command area will be organized by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection in the CSMRS Auditorium located in New Delhi on March 13, 2018.
●        The conference will be inaugurated as Chief Guest by Central Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation, Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari.
●        Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal will be the Guest of Honor on this occasion.

Prime Minister will launch TB free India campaign


●        Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate TB eradication summit tomorrow in New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan.
●        The conference is being organized jointly by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, World Health Organization (WHO) South East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) and Stop TB Partnership.
●       The Prime Minister will launch TB (Tuberculosis) Free India campaign on this occasion.
●     TB free India campaign will carry forward the activities of the National Strategic Plan (NSP) in mission mode for eradication of TB.

Industrial growth was 7.5 percent in January, 2018


●        In January, 2018, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) was 132.3, which is 7.5 percent more than the January, 2017.
●        Industrial growth was 7.5 percent in January, 2018.
●        Similarly, in April-January, 2017-18, the industrial growth rate has been pegged at 4.1 percent compared to the same period last fiscal.

4 million users will use only digital services by the year 2020: report
 
●        A recent survey has revealed the use of smartphones and digital participation in the country.
●        According to this survey report released by FICCI and Eve, by 2020, the number of consumers dependent on digital platform will be more than 4 million.
●        This report has been released in the name of 'Reimaging India's M & E Sector'.
●        This report estimates that at present, there are 1 to 1.5 million 'digital only consumers' in India.

Government to stop online sale of counterfeit goods
 
●        The government has been preparing to protect the customers who purchase from e-commerce companies from fraud.
●        The government is developing the mechanism to make sure that online shoppers do not get fake goods.

●        In the World Tourism Exhibition 'International Tourism Bourse' (ITB) in Messi, Berlin, Germany, India was awarded the 'Best Performer' award in Australia and Oceania Crore in 2018.
●        After participating in the ITB held in Berlin in Germany from March 7-10, 2018, addressing the media persons today, Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) Mr. K. J. Alfons discussed two major achievements of Indian tourism in ITB 2018.

●        The first International Solar Coalition (ISA) Summit was organized in India on March 11, 2018.
●        This Summit was organized in Delhi.
●        121 countries around the world are its members and now after the recognition from the United Nations, the institute has become strong.
 

 TCS is earning about 130 billion rupees annually due to analytics
 
●        Tata Consultancy Services, the country's largest software company, is getting revenues of around 130 billion rupees annually from analytics.
●        Company CEO Rajesh Gopinathan told ET in an interview that the company has the largest share of analytics in the digital revenue of the company.
●        TCS gets more than 22 percent of its total revenue from digital.
