Government nominated J. S. Rajput as an Indian representative in the UNESCO Executive Board


●        The Government of India has decided to nominate former Director of NCERT Professor JS Rajput as the representative of India in the UNESCO Executive Board.
●        Pro. JS Rajput is a well-known educationist who has extensive experience in working in diverse fields, including UNESCO.
●        Union Human Resource Development Minister, Mr. Prakash Javadekar, during his participation in UNESCO's General Meeting during October 30 to November 4, 2017, met the ministers of other countries for his membership in the UNESCO Executive Board and sought his support.

UIDAI prepares to implement 'face recognition' for Aadhaar from 1st July
 
●        Apart from fingerprints and finger prints of the Indian Unique Identification Authority, the 'face recognition' is now ready to be included from July 1, 2018.
●        The 12-digit unique identity card issuing agency, UIDAI, announced in January that it will also include the Face Authentication feature.
●        This feature will benefit people who had trouble scanning their fingerprint or eye.
 
Railways to reduce fares of 25 Shatabdi trains
 
●        Rental of premium-season trains running in the country can be reduced.
●        In order to fully utilize the resources, the Railways are considering reducing the rent of Centenary trains running on such routes, which has less passenger numbers.
●        Indian Railways has identified 25 such trains that will be reduced.

Personal information from users of the Modi app shared with the Third Party
 
●        A French researcher has claimed that the details of the user who use Narendra Modi app are being shared with the third party without asking them.
●        French citizen Elliot Alderson claims that many personal information including email, photo, name, gender of app users is being shared with the website named in.wzrkt.com.
●        Narendra Modi app has been developed by BJP.
●        Nearly 5 million users have downloaded it. However, the BJP has denied these allegations.

President inaugurates innovation and entrepreneurship celebrations;


●        President Shri Ramnath Kovind today inaugurated the Innovation and Festivity of Entrepreneurship (Fine) at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and presented the Gandhian Youth Technology Innovation Award.
●        On this occasion, the President said that to build a relatively new and better India, some developmental objectives need to be completed, some of them will be celebrated in the year 2022 when we celebrate 75th anniversary of our independence.

Government approves setting up of plastic park in Deoghar district of Jharkhand


●        Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Anant Kumar has announced that the Government of India has approved the establishment of a plastic park in the district of Deoghar of Jharkhand.
●        The project will be set up in 150 acres of land at a cost of Rs 120 crores and several polymer products will be produced in it, which include knit bows, moulded furniture, water tank, bottle, pipes, mosquito net etc.
 
Kiren Rijiju addressed the concluding session of the first India-Japan Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)


●        The two-day India-Japan Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) is successfully concluded here today.
●        In this, the focus was on activities under long-standing cooperation between India and Japan on DRR.
●        In the workshop, the technical experts of both the countries gathered and special discussions were discussed on the information and warning of earthquake and ignoring all possible areas of cooperation with Japan in the field of DRR.
●        The workshop was organized jointly by the Home Ministry, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Government of Japan.

●        The Union Minister gave special emphasis on important consumer rights such as security, information, options, lodging complaints and disposal of complaints.
●        Paswan also said that consumers have every right to know what they are spending on.
