Aparna Kumar created history by becoming the first civil servant and IPS officer to achieve the 7 Summits challenge.

• Aparna Kumar created history by becoming the first civil servant and IPS officer to achieve the incredible and rare feat of completing ‘7 Summits’ challenge'. Kumar hoisted India's tricolour on Mount Denali in Alaska, USA. Mount Denali is the highest peak of North America standing at 20,310 ft. She scaled the summit in her third attempt.

Aparna Kumar:

• Aparna Kumar is an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Dehra Dun Frontier DIG. She is also the first woman IPS officer to reach the South Pole on January 13 after walking 111 kilometres with 35 kilograms of equipment on her back.

• In 2016, she became the first officer of the All India Services to successfully scale Antarctica’s highest peak Mount Vinson Massif followed by Mount Manaslu in Nepal in 2017.

Mount Denali:

• Mount Denali is considered the third most prominent and third most isolated peak on Earth, after Mount Everest and Aconcagua. Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world, Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Southern and Western Hemispheres. It is also the tallest peak outside of Asia.

• Seven Summits:

• The seven listed summits in the challenge are:

• 1) Mount Everest in Nepal/China

• 2) Aconcagua in Argentina

• 3) Denali in the US

• 4) Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania

• 5) Mount Elbrus in Russia

• 6) Mount Vinson in Antarctica

• 7) Puncak Jaya and Mount Kosciuszko in Australia

Other Mountaineers in Summit Challenge:

• Canadian mountaineer Patrick Morrow was the first man to climb the Seven Summits in 1986.

• Indian Army officer Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal is the first Indian to summit the seven highest peaks spread across the seven continents. He is a recipient of India's highest adventure award, Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award Jamwal is also the first officer from the Indian Army to achieve this feat.

AGREEMENTS AND MOU’S:

India has signed Rs.200 crore deal with Russia to acquire Strum Ataka

• India has signed Rs.200 crore deal with Russia to acquire Strum Ataka. The anti-tank missile will be added to the fleet of Mi-35 attack choppers of Indian Air Force (IAF). This deal comes in wake of an IAF’s attempt to keep itself battle-ready in situations like post-Balakot aerial strikes. The Strum Ataka anti-tank missile would give an added capability to Mi-35 attack choppers of IAF to take out enemy tanks and other armoured elements.

• Mi-35s are set to be replaced with Apache gunships being acquired from United States (US) and slated to be delivered from August onwards.

About Emergency clause:

• After 14 February Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed, emergency powers were given to Indian Defence forces and India started increasing vigil at borders with Pakistan. Under, emergency powers given to three services, they can procure equipment of their choice within 3 month at a cost of about Rs.300 crore per case.

• IAF has emerged as front runner in terms of weapon acquisition under emergency procurement, followed by Indian Army. Under emergency provisions IAF has acquired also acquired Spice-2000 stand-off weapon system along with a number of spare and air to air mission.

APPOINTMENTS AND RESIGNATIONS:

NS Vishwanathan reappointed as Deputy Governor of RBI for 1 year.

• The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the reappointment of NS Vishwanathan as Deputy Governor of RBI for a period of one year from July 4, 2019. NS Vishwanathan's term as Deputy Governor was supposed to end on July 3, 2019. Earlier, RBI Deputy Governor Viral Acharya resigned citing personal circumstances.

राष्ट्रीय:

अपर्णा कुमार ने रचा इतिहास, विश्व के सातों शिखरों पर तिरंगा फहराने वाली बनीं पहली आईपीएस

• भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस बल (आईटीबीपी) देहरादून में तैनात डीआईजी अपर्णा कुमार ने अमेरिका की 20,320 फीट ऊंचे माउंट डेनाली पर तिरंगा फहराया है। इसके साथ ही सात पर्वतमालाओं पर तिरंगा फहराने वाली अपर्णा देश की पहली आईपीएस अधिकारी बन गई हैं।

• यूपी कैडर की आईपीएस अधिकारी अपर्णा कुमार ने अमेरिका के अलास्का में स्थित माउंट डेनाली पर्वत को रविवार को फतह कर लिया। अपर्णा यूपी कैडर की 2002 बैच की आईपीएस अफसर हैं। देश में ऐसे चुनिंदा ही पर्वतारोही हैं, जिन्होंने सात पर्वतमालाओं पर तिरंगा फहराया है।

• अब इसमें आईपीएस अपर्णा कुमार का नाम भी शामिल हो गया है। अपर्णा ने 15 जून को माउंट डेनाली पर्वत को फतह करने के लिए भारत छोड़ा था। उन्हें इस पर्वत पर 10 जुलाई को पहुंचना था। मौसम ने साथ दिया तो अपर्णा ने 10 दिन पहले ही पर्वतचोटी फतह कर ली।

• उन्होंने माइनस 40 डिग्री तापमान और 250 किलोमीटर की रफ्तार से चलने वाली बर्फीली हवाओं के बीच यह कामयाबी हासिल की है। माउंट डेनाली की ऊंचाई समुद्रतल से 20,320 फीट है। अपर्णा ने अपनी सफलता की जानकारी सैटेलाइट फोन के माध्यम से परिवार को भेजी है। अपर्णा हफ्तेभर में वापस पहुंचेंगी।

• अपर्णा कुमार ने जिन पर्वतों के शिखर पर झंडा फहराया है, उनमें माउंट एवरेस्ट, माउंट किलिमंजारो, माउंट एल्ब्रुस, कार्सटेंस पिरामिड, विन्सन मैसिफ व माउंट एकांकागुआ शामिल हैं।

सम्‍मेलन और समझौते

भारत और रूस के बीच 200 मिलिट्री हेलीकॉप्टर, एयर डिफेंस सिस्टम, न्यूक्लियर एनर्जी समेत 16 समझौते

• गोवा में ब्रिक्स समिट से पहले भारत और रूस के बीच द्विपक्षीय बातचीत के बाद 16 अहम समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए हैं. इन समझौतों से रक्षा क्षेत्र में भारत और रूस के बीच नया आयाम स्थापित होगा. समझौतों के अनुसार भारत को कोमोव मिलिट्री हेलीकॉप्टर मिलेगा. साथ ही एस-400 सिस्टम भी रूस भारत को देगा. दोनों देशों के बीच गैस पाइपलाइन पर स्टडी, न्यूक्लियन एनर्जी, आंध्र प्रदेश और हरियाणा में स्मार्ट सिटी, शिक्षा, रेल की स्पीड बढ़ाने समेत कई क्षेत्रों में अहम समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए.

• विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता विकास स्वरूप ने दोनों देशों के बीच 17वें सालाना द्विपक्षीय शिखर सम्मेलन के बाद कहा, "भारत व रूस के बीच साझेदारी ने एक नई ऊंचाई को छुआ. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी व राष्ट्रपति पुतिन दोनों देशों के बीच विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में 16 समझौतों तथा तीन घोषणाओं के साक्षी बने." समझौतों में एस-400 एयर डिफेंस सिस्टम की खरीद तथा भारत में 1135 श्रृंखला के युद्धपोतों का निर्माण शामिल है.

NS विश्वनाथन एक साल के लिए RBI के डिप्टी गवर्नर नियुक्त

• एनएस विश्वनाथन को एक साल के लिए आरबीआई (भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक) के डिप्टी गवर्नर के रूप में पुन: नियुक्त किया गया है। आपको बता दें कि रिजर्व बैंक के पूर्व डिप्टी गवर्नर पद से विरल आचार्य ने इस्तीफा दिया है।

• इससे पहले भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) के डिप्टी गवर्नर विरल आचार्य ने अपना कार्यकाल पूरा होने से छह महीने पहले ही इस्तीफा दे दिया था। वह मौद्रिक नीति विभाग के प्रभारी थे। केंद्रीय बैंक ने पिछले महीने के अंत में एक संक्षिप्त बयान जारी कर कहा था कि कुछ सप्ताह पहले आचार्य ने आरबीआई को पत्र लिखकर सूचित किया था कि अपरिहार्य निजी कारणों से 23 जुलाई, 2019 के बाद वह डिप्टी गवर्नर के अपने कार्यकाल को जारी रखने में असमर्थ हैं।

कौन है एनएस विश्वनाथन

• अर्थशास्त्र में मास्टर डिग्री हासिल करने वाले विश्वनाथन वर्ष 2014 में रिजर्व बैंक के ईडी बनाये गए थे। इसके अलावा विश्वनाथन ने सालों तक अलग-अलग बैंकों के निदेशक के पद पर काम किया है। साथ ही वह आईएफसीआई लिमिटेड के सतर्कता विभाग में चीफ जनरल मैनेजर भी रह चुके हैं।

Article 370 only temporary provision, not permanent, says Home Minister Amit Shah.

• Amit Shah, Union Home Minister stated recently that Article 370 is a temporary provision and not permanent. Amit Shah said this while participating in a debate in the Lok Sabha to extend the President's rule in Jammu and Kashmi. The Home Minister said that people who call upon Article 370 repeatedly in reference to Jammu and Kashmir forget that the article also has the word ‘temporary’ before it.

• Amit Shah reiterated that Article 370, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, is only a temporary provision in the constitution and not a permanent one. The Home Minister said this in response to Opposition’s argument that Jammu and Kashmir can't be treated like other states because Article 370 gives it a special status.

INTERNATIONAL:

NASA to send Dragonfly robot to search for life on Saturn’s moon Titan.

• NASA has planned to return to Saturn’s moon Titan with a nuclear-powered drone, Dragonfly. NASA plans to launch the drone lander mission as early as 2034 to search for life on Saturn’s largest moon.

• Dragonfly, is expected to travel billions of kilometer to search for signs of microbial alien life on Saturn’s moon Titan, while navigating its earth-like gravity and aerodynamics in the process. The mission will succeed NASA’s Cassini probe, which ended its 13-year mission orbiting Saturn in September 2017 by diving into Saturn’s atmosphere.

NASA’s Dragonfly Mission

• Dragonfly mission is a part of NASA’s New Frontiers program, which includes a series of space exploration missions, which are being conducted with the purpose of researching several of the Solar System bodies, including the dwarf planet Pluto. The New Frontiers programme also includes Pluto probe New Horizons, Jupiter probe Juno and OSIRIS-Rex asteroid mission.

जम्मू-कश्मीर पर अमित शाह बोले- अनुच्छेद 370 अस्थायी व्यवस्था

• संसद के बजट सत्र के दौरान शुक्रवार को जम्मू-कश्मीर आरक्षण संशोधन विधेयक, 2019 लोक सभा में पारित कर दिया गया। साथ ही और जम्मू-कश्मीर में राष्ट्रपति शासन छह माह बढ़ाने संबंधी संकल्प को भी मंजूरी मिल गई है। राज्‍य में विधानसभा चुनाव इस साल के अंत तक होंगे। केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने बताया कि दोनों ही विधेयक जनता की भलाई के लिए है। शाह ने इस दौरान कांग्रेस पर हमला बोलते हुए कहा जम्मू-कश्मीर का एक तिहाई हिस्सा आज हमारे नियंत्रण में नहीं है। इसके लिए कौन जिम्मेदार है?

• गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने लोक सभा में राष्ट्रपति शासन छह माह बढ़ाने और अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा पर बसे परिवारों को आरक्षण देने का प्रस्ताव पेश किया था। इन विधेयकों पर चर्चा का जवाब देते हुए उन्‍होंने विपक्ष पर तीखे हमले किए। गृहमंत्री ने जम्‍मू कश्‍मीर के हालात का जिम्‍मेदार कांग्रेस को बताया और कहा कि कांग्रेस द्वारा राज्‍य में बार-बार धारा 356 के दुरुपयोग के कारण ऐसी परिस्‍थिति बनी है।

अनुच्छेद 370 अस्थायी व्यवस्था

• जम्मू-कश्मीर को विशेष दर्जा देने वाले अनुच्छेद 370 पर विपक्ष की आशंकाओं का जवाब देते हुए अमित शाह ने उन्हें इस अनुच्छेद को ठीक से पढ़ने की नसीहत दी। उन्होंने कहा कि खुद अनुच्छेद में ही साफ तौर पर लिखा गया है कि यह अस्थायी है। लेकिन उन्होंने अनुच्छेद 370 पर सरकार की किसी कार्ययोजना की जानकारी नहीं दी।

शनि के चंद्रमा पर मिशन भेजेगा नासा, तलाशेगा जीवन की संभावनाएं

• अमेरिकी स्पेस एजेंसी नासा ने शनि के सबसे बड़े चंद्र टाइटन पर ड्रोन की स्टाइल वाले क्वाडकॉप्टर को भेजने का फैसला लिया है

• इस मिशन को नासा ने 'ड्रैगनफ्लाइ' नाम दिया है। यह मिशन शनि के चंद्रमा टाइटन पर जीवन की संभावनाओं को तलाशेगा

• नासा ने मंगल, शुक्र और चांद पर पहुंचने के बाद शनि ग्रह पर मिशन भेजने का फैसला लिया है। अमेरिकी स्पेस एजेंसी नासा ने शनि के सबसे बड़े चंद्र टाइटन पर ड्रोन की स्टाइल वाले क्वाडकॉप्टर को भेजने का फैसला लिया है। न्यू यॉर्क टाइम्स के मुताबिक इस मिशन को नासा ने 'ड्रैगनफ्लाइ' नाम दिया है। यह मिशन शनि के चंद्रमा टाइटन पर जीवन की संभावनाओं को तलाशेगा। शनि अकेला ऐसा ग्रह है, जिसकी सतह पर पानी की उपलब्धता है।

• इस मिशन को मैरीलैंड स्थित जॉन्स हॉपकिन्स यूनिवर्सिटी की अप्लाइड फिजिक्स लैबोरेटरी की ओर से तैयार किया जा रहा है। यह स्पेसक्राफ्ट 2026 में लॉन्च किया जाएगा। 2034 में टाइटन पर यह पहुंचेगा और ढाई साल तक का वक्त वहां गुजारेगा। ड्रैगनफ्लाई पर लगे कैमरे उड़ान के दौरान तस्वीरें भेजेंगे। इससे धरती पर मौजूद लोगों को शनि के चंद्र की स्थिति के बारे में जानकारी मिल सकेगी।

• भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम की स्पॉन्सर और किट निर्माता नाइकी ने आधिकारिक तौर पर टीम इंडिया की नई जर्सी की घोषणा की। ये जर्सी पीछे से नारंगी है जबकि सामने के इसका रंग नीला है। जर्सी की बाहें भी नारंगी रंग की है और इस पर टीम इंडिया भी नारंगी रंग से ही लिखा गया है। नाइकी ने इस जर्सी को लांच करते हुए कहा कि भारतीय टीम की अवे किट नई पीढ़ी के हार नहीं मानने के जज्बे से प्रेरित है। हाल ही में टीम इंडिया की नई जर्सी लांच की गई थी और ये नई जर्सी भी उसी तरह से आधुनिक जरूरतों को पूरा करती है। नई जर्सी में भी ऐसी तकनीक का इस्तेमाल किया गया है जिससे खिलाड़ियों को कम पसीना आए। ये जर्सी पिछली जर्सी की तुलना में काफी हल्की बताई जा रही है।

• The local limestone pillar is carved with half lotus medallions at the centre and the top on all the four side

J&K reservation (amendment) bill 2019 passed by Lok Sabha.

• Lok Sabha has passed Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2019, aimed to provide reservations in educational institutions and government jobs within 10km of the International Border in the Jammu area, just like the Line of Control in Kashmir. In the favour of this bill Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that students had to stay in bunkers for several days during shelling and firing, which was why the government wanted a reservation for those living along the International Border. Moving the bill in the Lok Sabha, Shah said, "This bill is not to please anyone but for those living near the International Border."

INTERNATIONAL:

India wins trade dispute with US over solar panel incentives.

• The World Trade Organisation (WTO) has ruled that a series of US renewable energy incentives violated international trade rules.

• A WTO panel upheld India's claim that seven US states illegally incentivised the use of local content, thereby discriminating against Indian and other imported solar suppliers.

• The US, however, told the panel that the ruling would have little or no impact.

AWARDS:

India-born Priya Serrao crowned Miss Universe Australia 2019.

• India-born Priya Serrao has been crowned Miss Universe Australia 2019. The 26-year-old was born in India, spent most part of her childhood in Oman and Dubai, before moving to Melbourne with her family at the age of 11. Serrao is a law graduate and works as a full-time policy adviser with the Australian government in Melbourne.

• इसकी माप लगभग 1'-3 "x0'09'9x 8'। 0" है, यह जमीनी स्तर से दो फीट नीचे है।

आरक्षण संशोधन विधेयक पारित होने से J&K के 3। 50 लाख लोगों को फायदा

• लोकसभा में शुक्रवार को जम्‍मू-कश्‍मीर आरक्षण संशोधन विधेयक बिल पारित हुआ। इस बिल के पारित होने से जम्मू-कश्मीर में अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा के करीब रह रहे करीब 3 लाख 50 हज़ार लोगों को आरक्षण का लाभ मिलेगा। इस मामले पर राज्यपाल सत्यपाल मालिक ने इस साल फरवरी में अध्यादेश पारित किया था। जिसे अब विधेयक की शक्ल में लोकसभा से पारित किया गया है।

• गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने जम्मू-कश्मीर आरक्षण अधिनियम 2004 के सेक्शन 5 तथा 9 के तहत जम्मू-कश्मीर आरक्षण संशोधन विधेयक प्रस्तुत किया। जिसमें कुछ नए क्षेत्रों को जोड़ा जाना है। अमित शाह ने बताया कि जम्मू कश्मीर के राज्यपाल द्वारा प्रस्ताव भेजा गया है कि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सीमा पर बसे गांवों के लिए भी 3% आरक्षण की व्यवस्था की जाए। उन्होँने बताया कि इससे कठुआ के 70 गांव, सांबा के 133 गांव और जम्मू के 232 गांवों के 3,50,000 लोग लाभान्वित होंगे।

अंतरराष्ट्रीय:

डब्ल्यूटीओ समिति ने नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा के मामले में अमेरिका के खिलाफ भारत के पक्ष में सुनाया फैसला

• विश्व व्यापार संगठन (डब्लयूटीओ) ने अमेरिका के आठ राज्यों में नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा क्षेत्र के उपकरणों में स्थानीय हिस्सेपुर्जों को प्रथमिकता और सब्सिडी की नीति को वैश्विक व्यापार प्रावधानों का उल्लंघन बताते हुए भारत के पक्ष में फैसला सुनाया। डब्ल्यूटीओ ने बृहस्पतिवार को एक बयान में इसकी जानकारी दी।डब्ल्यूटीओ विवाद समाधान समिति ने अमेरिका के कई कदमों को प्रशुल्क और व्यापार पर सामान्य समझौता (गैट) के कुछ प्रावधानों के प्रतिकूल माना है। समिति ने कहा कि गैट के तहत भारत को मिलने वाले फायदों को अमेरिका ने निष्प्रभावी किया। समिति ने अपने निर्णय में कहा कि अमेरिका द्वारा नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा क्षेत्र से संबंधित उठाये गये दस कदम गैट 1994 के प्रावधानों के प्रतिकूल हैं।भारत ने इस मामले में सितंबर 2016 में डब्ल्यूटीओ के समक्ष अमेरिका की शिकायत की थी।समिति के इस फैसले को डब्ल्यूटीओ के अपीलीय निकाय में चुनौती दी जा सकती है।

NATIONAL:

Government of Jharkhand to get $147 Million Loan from World Bank.

• Government of Jharkhand and the World Bank, signed a $147 Million Loan Agreement

They provide basic urban services to the people of Jharkhand and planned to help improve the management capacity of the urban local bodies (ULBs) in the State.

The Jharkhand Municipal Development Project mainly focus on improving the municipal sector’s capacity.

It will invest in urban services such as water supply, sewerage, drainage, and urban roads; and strengthen the capacity of the Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company (JUIDCO)

The ULBs planned to carry out reforms in the areas of urban finance and governance.

The main need is to establish 31 million people reside in urban areas

The population of urban population growth at nine of 24 districts in Jharkhand is above India’s overall urbanization pace of 2.7 percent.

The Loan Agreement was signed by Mr. Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance on behalf of the Government of India and Mr. Shanker Lal, Acting Country Director (India), the World Bank, on behalf of the World Bank.

Most of these components will open to all 43 ULBs in the state to participate within an agreed framework under the project.

Over 350,000 urban residents of the participating ULBs are expected to benefit

Interventions such as piped water supply, stormwater drains, climate-friendly road construction and energy efficient street lighting will help improve urban services but also make it environmentally sustainable.

The Work on two sub-projects namely Khunti water supply subproject and the Dhanbad roads subproject to commence shortly.

Kerala topped NITI Aayog's health index 2019 ranking

• Kerala has topped ranking state in terms of overall health performance as per the report submitted by NITI Aayog on health index. This is the second edition of its type. It measured the annual and incremental performances of states and UTs.

Larger States:

Overall performance:

Next to Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra have emerged as the second and third best performers, respectively, on health parameters. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were ranked the two worst performers, respectively.

Kerala secured an overall score of 74.01, while Uttar Pradesh was the least performing state with an overall score of 28.61. The report highlighted the outbreak of encephalitis in Bihar that killed over 150 children till 24 June.

Incremental performance:

In terms of incremental performances, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand made the maximum improvement in terms of health among larger states.

Smaller states:

Among the smaller states, Mizoram ranked first in overall performance, while Tripura and Manipur were top two states in terms of incremental performance.

Union Territories:

• Among the Union Territories, Chandigarh ranked first in overall performance, while Dadra and Nagar Haveli made the most improvement.

Healthy States Progressive India:

NITI Aayog's report, titled 'Healthy States Progressive India', ranked states and Union Territories (UTs) based on the Health Index. The evaluation was based on 23 indicators that covers the key aspects of health sector performance.

The first edition of the report of this kind was released in 2018. It measured the annual and incremental performances of states and UTs for period 2014-15 (as base year) to 2015-16 (as reference year).

In the 2018 report, Kerala, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu had ranked on top in terms of overall performance among bigger states. Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh topped in terms of annual incremental performance.

• WarnerMedia has named Ann Sarnoff as the CEO of Warner Bros. Sarnoff, currently President of BBC Studios Americas, will be the first woman to head the studio behind 'Wonder Woman' and 'Friends'. The 57-year-old will be replacing Kevin Tsujihara.

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed on 26 June.

• The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed on 26 June every year. It is a United Nations International Day against drug abuse and the illegal drug trade. It is observed since 1989. The day was instituted by General Assembly Resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987.

2019 Theme:

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has set the theme for 2019 as 'Health for Justice. Justice for Health'. The theme highlights that justice and health are two sides of the same coin when it comes to addressing drug problems.

Effective responses to the world drug problem require inclusive and accountable institutions of criminal justice, health and social services to work hand in hand to provide integrated solutions, in line with the international drug control conventions, human rights obligations and the Sustainable Development Goals.

राष्‍ट्रीय:

झारखंड के विकास को अब मिलेगी रफ्तार, 147 मिलियन डॉलर कर्ज देगा वर्ल्ड बैंक

• वर्ल्ड बैंक, केंद्र सरकार और झारखंड सरकार ने मंगलवार को एक समझौता किया है, जिसके मुताबिक वर्ल्ड बैंक झारखंड के नगरपालिका विकास परियोजना के कार्यान्वयन के लिए 147 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर (करीब 10.5 अरब रुपये) का कर्ज देगा। इससे झारखंड के विकास को रफ्तार मिलेगी। ऋण समझौते पर भारत सरकार, झारखंड सरकार और विश्व बैंक ने झारखंड के लोगों को बुनियादी शहरी सेवाएं मुहैया कराने और राज्य के शहरी स्थानीय निकायों (यूएलबी) की प्रबंधन क्षमता बेहतर करने के लिए 147 मिलियन डॉलर के ऋण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए। समझौते पर भारत सरकार की ओर से वित्त मंत्रालय के आर्थिक मामलों के विभाग में अपर सचिव समीर कुमार खरे और विश्व बैंक की ओर से विश्व बैंक के कार्यवाहक कंट्री डायरेक्टर (भारत) शंकर लाल ने हस्ताक्षर किए।

जरूरतों के अनुरूप है राशि

• बता दें कि ये राशि शहरीकरण की दिशा में अग्रसर झारखंड की जरूरतों के अनुरूप है। यहां लगभग 31 मिलियन लोग शहरी क्षेत्रों में रहते हैं और झारखंड के 24 जिलों में से 9 जिलों में शहरी आबादी की वृद्धि दर भारत की 2.7 प्रतिशत की समग्र शहरीकरण गति से अधिक है। वहीं इस राशि से राज्य के शहरों की महत्वाकांक्षी योजनाएं पूरी की जाएंगी।

• स्वास्थ्य और चिकित्सा सेवाओं के मोर्चे पर पिछड़े बिहार, उत्तर प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड और ओडिशा एक नई तुलनात्मक रिपोर्ट में पहले से अधिक फिसड्डी साबित हुए हैं। इसके विपरीत हरियाणा, राजस्थान और झारखंड में हालात उल्लेखनीय रूप से सुधरा है। स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय और विश्वबैंक के तकनीकी सहयोग से तैयार नीति आयोग की ‘स्वस्थ्य राज्य प्रगतिशील भारत’ शीर्षक से जारी रिपोर्ट में राज्यों की रैंकिंग से यह बात सामने आई है। इस रिपोर्ट में इन्क्रीमेन्टल रैंकिंग यानी पिछली बार के मुकाबले सुधार के स्तर के मामले में 21 बड़े राज्यों की सूची में बिहार 21वें स्थान के साथ सबसे नीचे है। वहीं, इसमें उत्तर प्रदेश 20वें, उत्तराखंड 19वें और ओड़िशा 18वें स्थान पर हैं।

• रिपोर्ट के अनुसार संदर्भ वर्ष 2015-16 की तुलना में 2017-18 में स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र में बिहार का संपूर्ण प्रदर्शन सूचकांक 6.35 अंक गिरा है। इसी दौरान उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रदर्शन सूचकांक में 5.08 अंक, उत्तराखंड 5.02 अंक तथा ओड़िशा के सूचकांक में 3.46 अंक की गिरावट आई है। यह रैंकिंग 23 संकेतकों के आधार पर तैयार की गई है। इन संकेतकों को स्वास्थ्य परिणाम (नवजात मृत्यु दर, प्रजनन दर, जन्म के समय स्त्री-पुरूष अनुपात आदि), संचालन व्यवस्था और सूचना (अधिकारियों की नियुक्ति अवधि आदि) तथा प्रमुख इनपुट/प्रक्रियाओं (नर्सों के खाली पड़े पद, जन्म पंजीकरण का स्तर आदि) में बांटा गया है।

• यह दूसरा मौका है जब आयोग ने स्वास्थ्य सूचकांक के आधार पर राज्यों की रैंकिंग की है। इस तरह की पिछली रैंकिंग फरवरी 2018 में जारी की गई थी। उसमें 2014-15 के आधार पर 2015-16 के आंकड़ों की तुलना की गई थी। इस रिपोर्ट में पिछले बार के मुकाबले सुधार और कुल मिलाकर बेहतर प्रदर्शन के आधार पर राज्यों एवं केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की रैंकिंग तीन श्रेणी में की गई है। पहली श्रेणी में 21 बड़े राज्यों, दूसरी श्रेणी में आठ छोटे राज्यों एवं तीसरी श्रेणी में केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों को रखा गया है।

• सूचकांक में सुधार के पैमाने पर हरियाणा का प्रदर्शन सबसे अच्छा रहा है। उसके 2017-18 के संपूर्ण सूचकांक में 6.55 अंक का सुधार आया है। उसके बाद क्रमश: राजस्थान (दूसरा), झारखंड (तीसरा) और आंध्र प्रदेश (चौथे) का स्थान रहा। वहीं, छोटे राज्यों में त्रिपुरा पहले पायदान पर रहा। उसके बाद क्रमश: मणिपुर, मिजोरम और नगालैंड का स्थान रहा। इसमें सबसे फिसड्डी अरूणाचल प्रदेश (आठवें), सिक्किम (सातवें) तथा गोवा (छठे) का स्थान रहा।

• मारुति सुजुकी इंडिया ने डीलर्स और कंज्यूमर्स को कर्ज उपलब्ध कराने के लिये बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा से हाथ मिलाया है. कंपनी ने शुक्रवार को इसकी जानकारी दी. कंपनी ने एक बयान में कहा कि उसने बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा के साथ एक एग्रीमेंट किया है जिसके तहत बैंक उसका तरजीही फाइनेंस बन जाएगा. डीलर्स को बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा के सीरीज फाइनेंसिंग के मौजूदा कार्यक्रम के तहत कर्ज दिया जाएगा.

डीलर्स और कस्टमर्स दोनों को फायदा

• कंपनी ने कहा कि इस भगीदारी से डीलरों के साथ ही कस्टमर्स को आसान वित्तीय विकल्प मुहैया कराने की सहूलियत मिलेगी. बयान के अनुसार, डीलरों को बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा के सीरीज फाइनेंसिंग के मौजूदा कार्यक्रम के तहत कर्ज दिया जाएगा.

7 महीने में RBI को दूसरा झटका, डिप्‍टी गवर्नर विरल आचार्य ने दिया इस्‍तीफा

• रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया को एक बड़ा झटका लगा है. दरअसल, केंद्रीय बैंक के डिप्टी गवर्नर विरल आचार्य ने अपने पद से इस्‍तीफा दे दिया है. यह करीब 7 महीने के भीतर दूसरी बार है जब आरबीआई के किसी उच्‍च अधिकारी ने कार्यकाल पूरा होने से पहले ही अपने पद को छोड़ दिया है. इससे पहले आरबीआई गवर्नर उर्जित पटेल ने दिसंबर में निजी कारण बताते हुए अपने पद से इस्‍तीफा दे दिया था. विरल आचार्य के इस्‍तीफे की पुष्टि आरबीआई ने भी कर दी है.

कार्यकाल के 6 महीने पहले इस्‍तीफा

• अहम बात यह है कि डिप्टी गवर्नर विरल आचार्य ने कार्यकाल पूरा होने के करीब छह महीने पहले ही अपने पद को छोड़ दिया है. विरल आचार्य आरबीआई के उन बड़े अधिकारियों में शामिल थे जिन्‍हें उर्जित पटेल की टीम का हिस्‍सा माना जाता था. मीडिया रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक विरल आचार्य अब न्‍यूयॉर्क यूनिवर्सिटी के सेटर्न स्‍कूल ऑफ बिजनेस में बतौर प्रोफेसर ज्‍वाइन करेंगे. बता दें कि आचार्य ने तीन साल के लिए आरबीआई के बतौर डिप्‍टी गवर्नर 23 जनवरी 2017 को ज्‍वाइन किया था. इस हिसाब से वह करीब 30 महीने केंद्रीय बैंक के लिए अपने पद पर कार्यरत रहे.

• Iron ore mine discovered at Isabpur village in Dinajpur.

This announcement was made by the Geological Survey of Bangladesh.

Namma Kolhapuri chappal got GI tag.

• The controller general of patents, designs and trademarks has granted the GI (Geographical Indications) tag to Kolhapuri chappal from Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Solapur districts of Maharashtra and Dharwad, Belgaum, Bagalkot and Bijapur of Karnataka.

Getting GI tag for Kolhapuri means that footwear produced only in these 8 districts will qualify to carry tag of being Kolhapuris.

History:

• According to the GI application made by the two states, Kolhapuris can be traced back to the 12th century when King Bijjal ruled Bidar in Karnataka and his prime minister Vishwaguru Basavanna wanted to create a casteless society and remove the stigma associated with the cobbler community. The community embraced Lingayat faith and used its creative skills to start producing footwear known equally for its ruggedness and regal bearing.

Brand Kolhapuri came into being only in the beginning of 20th century when the footwear began to be traded in 20th century when the footwear began to be traded in Kolhapur. Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj (1874-1922) of Kolhapur encouraged its production and 29 tanning centres were opened during his rule in Kolhapur.

About Geographical Indications (GI) tag:

A geographical indication (GI) is a name or sign used on certain products which corresponds to a specific geographical location or origin.

Darjeeling tea became the first GI tagged product in India, in 2004-05, since then by october 2018, 321 had been added to the list.

The GI tag is valid for a period of 10 years. Further it can be renewed.

India’s first solar cruise vessel will debut in Kerala.

• India’s first solar-powered ferry in 2016, Kerala is gearing up for the launch of the country’s premier solar-powered cruise boat.

The initiative comes from the State Water Transport Department (SWTD), whose solar ferry Aditya in the Vaikom-Thavanakadavu route proved to be a success.

The Rs. 3-crore cruise boat can carry 100 passengers is under construction at a boatyard in Aroor and comes from the stable of the builders of Aditya.

It will be rolled out in Alappuzha in December.

The hybrid vessel will be powered by a motor that can source energy from solar panels, battery, and generator.

Its battery will have 80 KWh (kilowatt hour) power backup, as compared to 50 KWh backup in Aditya.

कोल्हापुरी चप्पल को मिला GI टैग

• भारत में चमड़े से तो कई चप्पलें बनती हैं, लेकिन कोल्हापुरी चप्पल कई वर्षों से देश-विदेश में मशहूर है। कोल्हापुरी चप्पलों की उत्पत्ति कोल्हापुर से हुई थी। बाद में कई जगह इन चप्पलों का उत्पादन होने लगा, जिसकी वजह से यह बहुत आम हो गई और लोगों को आसानी से मिलने लगी। लेकिन अब ऐसा नहीं होगा। ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि पेटेंट, डिजाइन और ट्रेड मार्क के महानिदेशक ने महाराष्ट्र और कर्नाटक के कुछ राज्यों को कोल्हापुरी चप्पल बनाने का जीआई टैग दे दिया है।

इन इलाकों में बनेंगी कोल्हापुरी चप्पलें

• यानी अब सिर्फ कर्नाटक और महाराष्ट्र के आठ इलाकों में बनी कोल्हापुरी चप्पलों को इसका टैग मिलेगा। अगर किसी अन्य जगह पर ये चप्पल बनी है तो उन्हें कोल्हापुरी नहीं कहा जा सकेगा। जीआई टैग के माध्यम से महाराष्ट्र के कोल्हापुर, सोलापुर, संगली और सतारा इलाकों के लिए और कर्नाटक के धारवाड़, बगलकोट, बीजापुर और बेलगाम इलाकों को देश और विदेश के बाजारों में कोल्हापुरी चप्पलें बेचने में आसानी होगी।

12वीं सदी में भी बनती थी कोल्हापुरी चप्पलें

• भारत में कोल्हापुरी चप्पलें 12वीं सदी में भी बनती थी, लेकिन 20वीं सदी में कोल्हापुरी ब्रांड विकसित हुआ था। छत्रपति शाहू महाराज (1874-1922) ने कोल्हापुरी चप्पलों के उत्पादन को प्रोत्साहित किया था और अपने शासन में कोल्हापुर में 29 टैनिंग सेंटर खोले थे।

इन उत्पादों को भी मिल चुका है जीआई टैग-

• बता दें कि इससे पहले चंदेरी की साड़ी, कांजीवरम की साड़ी, दार्जिलिंग चाय और मलिहाबादी आम समेत अब तक 300 से ज्यादा उत्पादों को जीआई टैग मिल चुका है। सबसे पहले साल 2004 में दार्जिलिंग चाय को जीआई टैग मिला था।

दिसंबर में भारत की पहली सौर ऊर्जा चालित क्रूज नाव निकाली जाएगी

• केरल दिसंबर तक भारत की पहली सौर-संचालित क्रूज नाव के प्रक्षेपण के लिए तैयार है।

• इसे अलप्पुझा में रोल आउट किया जाएगा।

• मॉरिटानिया अफ्रीकी राष्ट्र ने लगभग 60 साल पहले फ्रांस से स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त की थी आजादी के बाद में पहली बार चुनाव हुआ। राष्ट्रपति मोहम्मद औलद अब्देल अजीज, जिन्होंने 2008 में एक तख्तापलट कर सत्ता पर कब्जा कर लिया था, अधिकतम दो बार पांच- पांच साल की निर्वाचित शर्तों को छोड़ने और पालन करने के लिए सहमत हुए। गैर-निर्वाचित सैन्य सरकारों ने स्वतंत्रता के बाद ज्यादातर देश पर शासन किया है।

Indian Navy to build 6 submarines.

• Indian Navy issued an ‘Expression of Interest’ for shortlisting potential strategic partners.

The construction of six P-75 (I) submarines costing nearly ₹45,000 crore.

• This is the second project being undertaken under the latest Strategic Partnership (SP) Model.

The procurement of 111 naval utility helicopters (NUH) are obtained recently.

They provide a major boost to the indigenous design and construction capability of submarines in India.

The latest submarine design and technologies as part of the project.

‘Make in India’ issued the Expression of Interest(s) for shortlisting of potential Indian Strategic Partners (SPs) for construction of six conventional submarines for P-75(I) project of the Indian Navy on June 20.

The case was approved by the Defence Acquisition Council on January 31.

The Expression of Interest (EoI) for shortlisting of Indian strategic partners been uploaded on the Defence Ministry and Navy websites.

The EoI for shortlisting of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will be issued in two weeks.

KCR inaugurates Kaleshwaram multi-purpose lift irrigation project.

• The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in Telangana was inaugurated on Friday by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. It is believed to be the largest multi-stage, multi-purpose lift irrigation project in the world. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan, Andhra CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis were chief guests at the event.

INTERNATIONAL:

Bangladesh emerged as the fastest economy in Asia-Pacific: Asian Development Bank.

• According to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Bangladesh emerged as the fastest growing economy among the 45 countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

Higher public sector investment, stronger consumption demand, revival in exports, improved power supply and higher growth in private sector credit were the key factors of the high growth performance of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh registered a growth rate of 7.9%.

They predicted that the growth will be 8% in the next financial year 2019-20.

• Nepal celebrates 5th International Day of Yoga. Government of Nepal planned to organize a yoga program in Kathmandu to celebrate the International Day of Yoga.

International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide about the benefits of practicing yoga.

चीन-पाक को समुद्र में पछाड़ेगा भारत, 6 अत्याधुनिक पनडुब्बियां बढ़ाएंगी नौसेना की मारक क्षमता

• हिंद महासागर में चीन की ओर से लगातार बढ़ते खतरे को देखते हुए भारतीय नौसेना जल्द अपनी क्षमता को बढ़ाने जा रही है। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने गुरुवार को प्रोजेक्ट-75 के तहत 6 अत्याधुनिक पनडुब्बियों को बनाने के लिए भारतीय रणनीतिक साझेदारों को प्रस्ताव के लिये आग्रह (एक्सप्रेशन ऑफ इंट्रेस्ट) जारी किया है। ये पनडुब्बियां रडार की पकड़ में नहीं आने वाली प्रौद्योगिकी से लैस होंगी।

• मेक इन इंडिया प्रोग्राम के तहत जारी इस कांट्रैक्ट की लागत लगभग 45 हजार करोड़ रुपये है। जिसमें छह पनडुब्बियों का निर्माण भारत में ही टेक्नोलॉजी के ट्रांसफर के तहत किया जाएगा।

• हालांकि, नौसेना के लिए प्रोजेक्ट 75 को शुरू हुए तीन साल से भी ज्यादा का समय हो चुका है। साल 2017 में छह अत्याधुनिक पनडुब्बी निर्माण करने की महत्वकांक्षी परियोजना के लिए चार विदेशी कंपनियां मुख्य रूप से सामने आई थीं।

• उस समय फ्रांस की कंपनी नावन ग्रुप, रूस की रोसोबोरोनएक्सपोटर्स रुबिन डिजाइन ब्यूरो, जर्मनी की थिसेनक्रुप मरीन सिस्टम्स और स्वीडन की साब ग्रुप ने इस परियोजना में भाग लेने के लिए रुचि दिखाई थी।

• इस बार भी इन्हीं कंपनियों को सबसे बड़ा दावेदार माना जा रहा है जिसमें से किसी एक को यह टेंडर दिया जा सकता है। हालांकि इनकों पनडुब्बी का निर्माण भारत में ही करना होगा। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य विदेशी कंपनियों के साथ मिलकर देश में पनडुब्बी और लड़ाकू विमान बनाने जैसे सैन्य प्लेटफार्म को तैयार करना है।

• गोदावरी नदी पर दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी लिफ्ट सिंचाई परियोजना बनकर तैयार हो चुकी है। तीन राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्री ने शुक्रवार दोपहर एक साथ इस परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया। इसे कलेश्वरम लिफ्ट सिंचाई परियोजना का नाम दिया गया है। तेलंगाना सरकार ने गोदावरी नदी पर दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी लिफ्ट सिंचाई योजना का निर्माण कराया है। इस परियोजना में 22 पंप हाउस शामिल हैं। इनके जरिए एक दिन में तीन टीएमसी पानी लेने की योजना है।

• इस परियोजना के दो महत्वपूर्ण चरण हैं। पहले चरण में मेदिगड्डा, अन्नाराम, सुंडिला पंप हाउस पानी को लिफ्ट करने के लिए आंशिक रूप से तैयार किए गए हैं। दूसरे चरण में दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा भूमिगत पंप हाउस है, जो हर रोज दो टीएमसी पानी पंप करने की क्षमता रखता है। आज आंध्र प्रदेश व तेलंगाना के गवर्नर नरसिंहम गुरु, तेलंगान के मुख्यमंत्री के चंद्रशेखर राव, आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री वाईएस जगनमोहन रेड्डी और महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस की मौजूदगी में इस परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया गया।

• भारतीय बैडमिंटन संघ (बीएआई) ने गुरुवार को 20 से 28 जुलाई तक चीन के सुझोउ में होने वाली जूनियर एशियाई बैडमिंटन चैम्पियनशिप के लिए गुरुवार को 23 सदस्यीय टीम की घोषण कर दी। लड़कों के एकल वर्ग में मणिपुर के मैसनाम मेइराबा लुवांग अपने दल का नेतृत्व करेंगे जबकि लड़कियों के वर्ग में मालविका बासोंद नेतृत्व करेंगी। मेइराबा और बासोंद ने घरेलू सर्किट में अच्छे प्रदर्शन के दम पर 1000 अंक जुटाए हैं।

• While the women and differently-abled will get Rs 3,500/month under Chief Minister Yuva Sambal Yojana.

• The applicants must be natives of Rajasthan.

Maharashtra topped the USGBC list of Top 10 States for LEED in India

• The Second Edition of the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) list of India's top 10 states are released.The states which have maximum number of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified green buildings are listed below.

• Maharashtra bagged the top slot with 334 LEED-certified green buildings

It is followed by Karnataka and Tamil Nadu with the rankings 232 and 157 buildings respectively.

• LEED is a widely used green building rating system in order to rank states in terms of cumulative Gross Square Feet (GSF) of certified space.

• They were ranked on December 31, 2018.

• At the first Edition of the list Tamil Nadu ranked first with 118 buildings.

India extended $15 million grant to Niger to organize the AU summit

• India extended USD 15 million assistance to Nigeria for organizing the African Union (AU) summit scheduled to be held in Niamey.This summit is scheduled to be held in Niamey from July 7-8.It is the first time that Niger is scheduled to host an AU summit.

• The assistance in the form of the grant was symbolically handed over to Niger's Deputy Foreign Minister Lamido Ousseini Bala Goga Salamatou by Ambassador of India to Niger Rajesh Agarwal held on June 17 in Niamey.

This summit is expected to launch the historic African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

• Indian engineer Nitesh Kumar Jangir whose low-cost neonatal breathing device saved the lives of new-born babies across small towns.India won the 2019 Commonwealth Secretary-General's Innovation for Sustainable Development Award in London.

• Nitesh Kumar Jangir created Saans as a breathing support device to avoid deaths of premature babies from respiratory distress syndrome due to a lack of immediate access to complex medical equipment.

• He received his award in the People category alongside 14 other innovators from across the 53 member-countries of the Commonwealth.

• The main aim is to ensure that babies don't lose their lives due to the lack of access to a piece of technology.This device can be used anywhere to deliver crucial support to premature babies.

भारत ने एयू शिखर सम्मेलन के आयोजन के लिए नाइजर को 15 मिलियन डॉलर का अनुदान दिया:

• भारत ने नाइजर के नाइमेई में 7-8 जुलाई, 2019 से निर्धारित अफ्रीकी संघ (एयू) शिखर सम्मेलन के आयोजन के लिए नाइजर को 15 मिलियन डॉलर का अनुदान दिया। इसे श्रीमती लामिडो ओउसेनी बाला गोगा सलामातौ, उप-विदेश मंत्री, नाइजर को श्री मोहम्मद सईदिल मोक्टार, मंत्री और नाइजर गणराज्य के राष्ट्रपति के विशेष सलाहकार की उपस्थिति में नाइमी में 17 जून 2019 को आयोजित एक समारोह में नाइजर में भारत के राजदूत श्री राजेश अग्रवाल द्वारा सौंप दिया गया था।

• अफगानिस्तान के लेग स्पिनर राशिद खान के लिए मंगलवार का दिन अच्छा नहीं रहा। वह वर्ल्ड कप मैच में सबसे ज्यादा रन देने वाले गेंदबाज बन गए। राशिद ने इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ ओल्ड ट्रैफर्ड में खेले गए मुकाबले में 9 ओवर में 110 रन दिए। इस स्पिनर को इस मैच में एक भी विकेट नहीं मिला।

AGREEMENT'S AND MOU’s:

KSEB signed an agreement with GJ Eco Power Pvt. Ltd. to establish Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plants.

• The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) signed a power purchase agreement with Kochi-based GJ Eco Power Pvt. Ltd. to establish Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plants across the State. GJ Eco Power Pvt. Ltd. has been implementing the project at the Brahmapuram solid waste treatment plant.

• The proposed plant is expected to be commissioned within 18 months of the launch of its construction. The power purchase agreement was signed in the presence of Electricity Minister M.M. Mani, Electricity Department secretary B. Ashok and KSEB chairman and managing director N.S. Pillai.

• Under the agreement, the KSEB will purchase the power generated from the 9.76 MW WtE plant at a rate of Rs.6.17 per unit for a period of 20 years from the commercial operation date. Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved the tariff.

• The company had been roped in by the Kochi Corporation to implement the State’s first WtE project in the public-private partnership mode.

• KSEB will be supplied with 330 tonnes per day (TPD) of municipal solid waste by the local body. It is tasked with generating 47 million units (mu) of power.

APPOINTMENTS AND RESIGNATIONS:

Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd has appointed Naveen Uppal as the Chief Risk Officer.

• Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd has appointed Naveen Uppal as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO). The appointment complied with norms of National Housing Bank (NHB), the housing finance sector regulator. His appointment will be for a period of three years with effect from June 17, 2019. He will be directly reporting to the managing director and CEO of the company.

RBI's norm:

• The appointment comes after the announcement made by RBI on 16 May which said that all non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) with assets of more than ₹5,000 crore to appoint a chief risk officer (CRO). RBI’s move was in the wake of ongoing rating downgrades of non-banks which has raised fears of another liquidity crisis.

• Uppal has over 23 years of experience in operations, audit and credit risk within the finance industry. He has been associated with Indiabulls Housing Finance for 12 years and presently heads risk and compliance. He was also associated with ICICI Bank as its zonal operations head.

• Kona Raghupati was unanimously elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on 18 June 2019. He is a two-time MLA from the ruling YSRCP who is representing Bapatla constituency.

• Mr. Raghupati was nominated by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Botsa Satyanarayana which was backed by other members of the cabinet and senior leaders of the ruling party. Speaker Tammineni Sitaram declared the election of Kona Raghupathi as Deputy Speaker as he was the only contestant.

His father, Kona Prabhakara Rao, was a veteran Congress leader who even served as the Speaker for the Assembly of united Andhra Pradesh, for a brief period between 1980 and 1981. • Om Birla has been unanimously elected as the 17th Lok Sabha Speaker with the opposition Congress coming out in support of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)’s candidate. Birla will replace Sumitra Mahajan.

• केरल राज्य विद्युत बोर्ड (केएसईबी) ने कोच्चि स्थित जीजे इको पावर प्राइवेट के साथ एक बिजली खरीद समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए। लिमिटेड पूरे राज्य में अपशिष्ट-से-ऊर्जा (डब्ल्यूटीई) संयंत्र स्थापित करने के लिए जीजे इको पावर प्राइवेट लिमिटेड ब्रह्मपुरा ठोस अपशिष्ट उपचार संयंत्र में परियोजना को लागू कर रहा है।

• प्रस्तावित संयंत्र के निर्माण के शुरू होने के 18 महीनों के भीतर चालू होने की उम्मीद है। बिजली खरीद समझौते पर विद्युत मंत्री एम.एम. मणि, बिजली विभाग के सचिव बी अशोक और केएसईबी के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक एन.एस. पिल्लई की उपस्थिति में हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

• समझौते के तहत, केएसईबी वाणिज्यिक परिचालन की तारीख से 20 साल की अवधि के लिए 9.76 मेगावाट के डब्ल्यूटीई संयंत्र से उत्पन्न बिजली को प्रति यूनिट 6.17 रुपये की दर से खरीदेगा। केरल राज्य विद्युत नियामक आयोग ने टैरिफ को मंजूरी दे दी है।

• कोच्चि निगम द्वारा सार्वजनिक-निजी साझेदारी मोड में राज्य की पहली डब्ल्यूटीई परियोजना को लागू करने के लिए कंपनी को रोप-वे किया गया था।

• केएसईबी को स्थानीय निकाय द्वारा नगरपालिका ठोस कचरे के 330 टन प्रति दिन (टीपीडी) के साथ आपूर्ति की जाएगी। इसे 47 मिलियन यूनिट (MU) बिजली पैदा करने का काम सौंपा गया है।

RBI का आदेश:

• नियुक्ति 16 मई को आरबीआई द्वारा की गई घोषणा के बाद कहा गया था कि सभी गैर-बैंकिंग वित्तीय कंपनियों (NBFC) को मुख्य जोखिम अधिकारी (CRO) नियुक्त करने के लिए 5,000 करोड़ से अधिक की संपत्ति है। RBI का कदम गैर-बैंकों की चल रही रेटिंग में गिरावट के मद्देनजर था जिसने एक और तरलता संकट की आशंका जताई है।

कोना रघुपति निर्विरोध चुने गए आंध्र प्रदेश के डिप्टी स्पीकर

• गुंटूर जिले के बापट्ला के विधायक कोना रघुपति आंध्रप्रदेश विधानसभा के डिप्टी स्पीकर निर्विरोध चुन लिए गए हैं। अकेले कोना रघुपति के नामांकन भरने की वजह से विधानसभा अध्यक्ष तम्मीनेनी सीताराम ने कोना रघुपति के डिप्टी स्पीकर चुने जाने की घोषणा कर दी।

• बाद में सदन के नेता व मुख्यमंत्री वाईएस जगन मोहन रेड्डी और नेता प्रतिपक्ष चंद्रबाबू नायडू आदि ने कोना रघुपति को स्पीकर सीट तक ले गए और उन्हें कुर्सी पर बिठाकर उन्हें बधाई दी। इस मौके पर सदन में मौजूद सभी सदस्यों ने डिप्टी स्पीकर को बधाई दी।

• ब्राह्मण समाज से जुड़े कोना रघुपति 2014 और 2019 के विधानसभा चुनाव में वाईएसआर कांग्रेस पार्टी के टिकट पर चुनाव लड़कर दो बार विधायक चुने गए। कोना रघुपति के पिता कोना प्रभाकर राव 1967,1972 और 1978 के चुनाव में कांग्रेस के टिकट लगातार तीन बार विधायक चुने गए। कोना प्रभाकर राव आंध्र प्रदेश में मंत्री, स्पीकर और महाराष्ट्र के राज्यपाल भी रहे। उस समय पिता कोना प्रभाकर राव आंध्र प्रदेश विधानसभा के स्पीकर रहे और अब मुख्यमंत्री वाईएस जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने कोना रघुपति को डिप्टी स्पीकर के रूप में मौका दिया है।

ओम बिड़ला को 17 वीं लोकसभा अध्यक्ष के रूप में निर्वाचित किया गया

• राजस्थान से दो बार भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के सदस्य ओम बिरला को सर्वसम्मति से 17 वीं लोकसभा अध्यक्ष के रूप में चुना गया है. ओम बिड़ला 17 वीं लोकसभा के लिए कोटा-बूंदी निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से चुने गए थे.

• मोदी ने कहा, ''ओम बिड़ला को इस पर आसीन देखना गर्व की बात है। पुराने सदस्य आपसे भली-भांति परिचित हैं। राजस्थान में भूमिका से भी लोग परिचित हैं। वे जहां से आते हैं, वो शिक्षा का काशी बन गया है। कोटा एक प्रकार से लघु भारत बन गया है। हम लोगों की एक छवि बनी रहती है कि 24 घंटे हम राजनीति करते हैं, तू-तू-मैं-मैं करते हैं। लेकिन अब हार्डकोर्ड पॉलिटिक्स का जमाना जा रहा है।''
