NATIONAL:
Indian Navy to build 6 submarines.
• Indian Navy issued an ‘Expression of Interest’ for shortlisting potential strategic partners.
The construction of six P-75 (I) submarines costing nearly ₹45,000 crore.
• This is the second project being undertaken under the latest Strategic Partnership (SP) Model.
The procurement of 111 naval utility helicopters (NUH) are obtained recently.
They provide a major boost to the indigenous design and construction capability of submarines in India.
The latest submarine design and technologies as part of the project.
‘Make in India’ issued the Expression of Interest(s) for shortlisting of potential Indian Strategic Partners (SPs) for construction of six conventional submarines for P-75(I) project of the Indian Navy on June 20.
The case was approved by the Defence Acquisition Council on January 31.
The Expression of Interest (EoI) for shortlisting of Indian strategic partners been uploaded on the Defence Ministry and Navy websites.
The EoI for shortlisting of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will be issued in two weeks.

KCR inaugurates Kaleshwaram multi-purpose lift irrigation project.
• The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in Telangana was inaugurated on Friday by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. It is believed to be the largest multi-stage, multi-purpose lift irrigation project in the world. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan, Andhra CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis were chief guests at the event.
INTERNATIONAL:
Bangladesh emerged as the fastest economy in Asia-Pacific: Asian Development Bank.
• According to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Bangladesh emerged as the fastest growing economy among the 45 countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
Higher public sector investment, stronger consumption demand, revival in exports, improved power supply and higher growth in private sector credit were the key factors of the high growth performance of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh registered a growth rate of 7.9%.
They predicted that the growth will be 8% in the next financial year 2019-20.

Fifth International Yoga Day being celebrated on June 21.
• Nepal celebrates 5th International Day of Yoga. Government of Nepal planned to organize a yoga program in Kathmandu to celebrate the International Day of Yoga.
International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide about the benefits of practicing yoga.

चीन-पाक को समुद्र में पछाड़ेगा भारत, 6 अत्याधुनिक पनडुब्बियां बढ़ाएंगी नौसेना की मारक क्षमता
• हिंद महासागर में चीन की ओर से लगातार बढ़ते खतरे को देखते हुए भारतीय नौसेना जल्द अपनी क्षमता को बढ़ाने जा रही है। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने गुरुवार को प्रोजेक्ट-75 के तहत 6 अत्याधुनिक पनडुब्बियों को बनाने के लिए भारतीय रणनीतिक साझेदारों को प्रस्ताव के लिये आग्रह (एक्सप्रेशन ऑफ इंट्रेस्ट) जारी किया है। ये पनडुब्बियां रडार की पकड़ में नहीं आने वाली प्रौद्योगिकी से लैस होंगी।
• मेक इन इंडिया प्रोग्राम के तहत जारी इस कांट्रैक्ट की लागत लगभग 45 हजार करोड़ रुपये है। जिसमें छह पनडुब्बियों का निर्माण भारत में ही टेक्नोलॉजी के ट्रांसफर के तहत किया जाएगा।
• हालांकि, नौसेना के लिए प्रोजेक्ट 75 को शुरू हुए तीन साल से भी ज्यादा का समय हो चुका है। साल 2017 में छह अत्याधुनिक पनडुब्बी निर्माण करने की महत्वकांक्षी परियोजना के लिए चार विदेशी कंपनियां मुख्य रूप से सामने आई थीं।
• उस समय फ्रांस की कंपनी नावन ग्रुप, रूस की रोसोबोरोनएक्सपोटर्स रुबिन डिजाइन ब्यूरो, जर्मनी की थिसेनक्रुप मरीन सिस्टम्स और स्वीडन की साब ग्रुप ने इस परियोजना में भाग लेने के लिए रुचि दिखाई थी।
• इस बार भी इन्हीं कंपनियों को सबसे बड़ा दावेदार माना जा रहा है जिसमें से किसी एक को यह टेंडर दिया जा सकता है। हालांकि इनकों पनडुब्बी का निर्माण भारत में ही करना होगा। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य विदेशी कंपनियों के साथ मिलकर देश में पनडुब्बी और लड़ाकू विमान बनाने जैसे सैन्य प्लेटफार्म को तैयार करना है।

गोदावरी पर दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी सिंचाई परियोजना पूरी, तीन राज्यों के CM ने किया उद्घाटन
• गोदावरी नदी पर दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी लिफ्ट सिंचाई परियोजना बनकर तैयार हो चुकी है। तीन राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्री ने शुक्रवार दोपहर एक साथ इस परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया। इसे कलेश्वरम लिफ्ट सिंचाई परियोजना का नाम दिया गया है। तेलंगाना सरकार ने गोदावरी नदी पर दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी लिफ्ट सिंचाई योजना का निर्माण कराया है। इस परियोजना में 22 पंप हाउस शामिल हैं। इनके जरिए एक दिन में तीन टीएमसी पानी लेने की योजना है।
• इस परियोजना के दो महत्वपूर्ण चरण हैं। पहले चरण में मेदिगड्डा, अन्नाराम, सुंडिला पंप हाउस पानी को लिफ्ट करने के लिए आंशिक रूप से तैयार किए गए हैं। दूसरे चरण में दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा भूमिगत पंप हाउस है, जो हर रोज दो टीएमसी पानी पंप करने की क्षमता रखता है। आज आंध्र प्रदेश व तेलंगाना के गवर्नर नरसिंहम गुरु, तेलंगान के मुख्यमंत्री के चंद्रशेखर राव, आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री वाईएस जगनमोहन रेड्डी और महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस की मौजूदगी में इस परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया गया।

• एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) के अनुसार, एशिया-प्रशांत क्षेत्र के 45 देशों के बीच बांग्लादेश सबसे तेजी से बढ़ती अर्थव्यवस्था के रूप में उभरा है।
• वित्त वर्ष 2018-19 में बांग्लादेश ने 7.9% की वृद्धि दर प्राप्त की जो कि 1974 के बाद इसकी सबसे तेज दर है।
• बैंक ने भविष्यवाणी की कि अगले वित्त वर्ष में विकास 8% होगा।
• एडीबी के देश निदेशक ने कल शाम बांग्लादेश की प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना को रिपोर्ट सौंप दी।
•बैंक ने कहा कि उच्च सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र का निवेश, मजबूत खपत की मांग, निर्यात में पुनरुद्धार, बेहतर बिजली आपूर्ति और निजी क्षेत्र के ऋण में उच्च वृद्धि बांग्लादेश के उच्च विकास प्रदर्शन के प्रमुख कारक थे

• आज भारत समेत दुनियाभर में पांचवां अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस (International Yoga Day) मनाया जा रहा है. देश में मुख्य आयोजन झारखंड (Jharkhand) की राजधानी रांची (Ranchi) में हो रहा है जिसमें प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी (PM Narendra Modi) ने भाग लिया. इस मौके पर पीएम मोदी ने कहा, 'योग सबका है और सब योग के हैं. योग धर्म और जाति से ऊपर है. योग का पालन जीवनभर करना है. इसलिए योग को हर इंसान की जिंदगी का हिस्सा बनाने के लिए हमें निरंतर काम करना होगा.' योग दिवस पर देश के सभी स्थानों पर कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए. इस वर्ष कार्यक्रम का मुख्य विषय ‘हृदय के लिए योग' निर्धारित है. प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी (PM Modi) पांचवें अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस (International Yoga Day) के मुख्य कार्यक्रम में भाग लेने के लिए गुरुवार की रात विशेष विमान से रांची पहुंचे थे. झारखंड की राज्यपाल द्रौपदी मुर्मू, मुख्यमंत्री रघुवर दास और वरिष्ठ मंत्री सीपी सिंह ने हवाई अड्डे पर उनका स्वागत किया था. प्रधानमंत्री ने रांची के राजभवन में रात्रि प्रवास किया था.

• भारत में फ्रांस के राजदूत एलेक्ज़ेंड्रे ज़ीगलर ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के अवसर पर बताया, "आज सुबह हमारे यहां 100 से ज़्यादा लोगों ने योग किया. हम लगभग हर रोज़ दूतावास में योग सिखाते हैं योग अब फ्रांस के लोगों में लोकप्रिय होता जा रहा है. इससे शारीरिक तथा मानसिक रूप से स्वस्थ रहने में मदद मिलती है.

• अन्नू रानी ने एक IAAF वर्ल्ड चैलेंज इवेंट, 58 वें ओस्ट्रावा गोल्डन स्पाइक एथलेटिक्स मीट में महिलाओं के जेवेलिन थ्रो में कांस्य पदक जीता.
• जबकि क्रोएशिया की सारा कोलाक ने स्वर्ण और स्लोवेनिया की मार्टिना रेटज ने रजत पदक जीता.

जूनियर बैडमिंटन एशियाई चैम्पियनशिप के लिए 23 सदस्यीय टीम घोषित
• भारतीय बैडमिंटन संघ (बीएआई) ने गुरुवार को 20 से 28 जुलाई तक चीन के सुझोउ में होने वाली जूनियर एशियाई बैडमिंटन चैम्पियनशिप के लिए गुरुवार को 23 सदस्यीय टीम की घोषण कर दी। लड़कों के एकल वर्ग में मणिपुर के मैसनाम मेइराबा लुवांग अपने दल का नेतृत्व करेंगे जबकि लड़कियों के वर्ग में मालविका बासोंद नेतृत्व करेंगी। मेइराबा और बासोंद ने घरेलू सर्किट में अच्छे प्रदर्शन के दम पर 1000 अंक जुटाए हैं।
• इन दोनों ने सेलेक्शन टूर्नामेंट्स में लगातार चार जूनियर खिताब अपने नाम किए हैं। बीएआई के महासचिव अजय सिंघानिया ने कहा कि बीएआई ने टीम के चयन के लिए चेन्नई और त्रिवेंद्रम में आयोजित ऑल इंडिया जूनियर रैंकिंग टूर्नामेंट्स के अंकों को संज्ञान में लिया है। इस टीम में 11 लड़के और 12 लड़कियां शामिल हैं। इसमें प्रमुख नाम भारतीय विमानपत्तन प्राधिकरण के लिए खेलने वाली बासोंद का है। लड़कों के वर्ग में मेइराबा के अलावा तमिलनाडु के सतीश कुमार, सिद्धांत गुप्ता और शंकर मुत्तुस्वामी की टीम में जगह मिली है।
