India will host the next B.R.I.C.S Summit in 2016. This was announced in the 7^th B.R.I.C.S Summit held in Russian city of Ufa .The eighth B.R.I.C.S Summit will be organised in New Delhi in 2016, four years after India organised the fourth summit in 2012. India would become B.R.I.C.S chairperson from February 2016.

India's Shot putter Inderjeet Singh created history by winning the first ever gold medal for India in the shot put event at the World University Games 2015 in Gwangju, South Korea. His sixth and final throw covering a distance of 20.27 was good enough to win him the coveted yellow metal. This helped India to register its first ever win in the World University Games.

Sunil Bharti led Bharti Enterprises appointed Rahul Bhatnagar as it's new Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Bhatnagar takes over from Manoj Kohli, who has assumed the role of Executive Chairman, SBG Clean tech a JV between SoftBank, Bharti and Foxconn for renewable energy.

7^th BRICS Summit concluded in Ufa, Russia on 9^th July with the theme, "BRICS partnership: A powerful factor for global development". The summit is being attended by:

Russian President Vladimir Putin, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, South African President Jacob Zuma and Chinese President Xi Jinping. In a significant step in economic cooperation, Russia's Direct Investment Fund (R.D.I.F) signed an MoU with India's Infrastructure Development Finance Company (I.D.F.C) for funding of hydro-generation projects.

Nandkumar Saravade appointed  New Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) at Data Security Council of India(D.S.C.I). He will take over from the current officiating C.E.O, Rama Vedashree, Vice-President at NASSCOM. Sarvade was, until recently, working as independent advisor on fraud and security to Ernst and Young (E.Y.) and I.C.I.C.I Bank. Till September 2013, he was the South Asia head of security, investigation and vigilance function for Citibank.

Mauritius has regained the position as top source of foreign direct investment (FDI) into India by pushing Singapore to the second slot in 2014-15. Mauritius accounted for about 29 percent of the country's total FDI inflows last fiscal. In 2013-14, Singapore had replaced Mauritius as the top source of FDI into India. India attracted USD 9.03 billion in FDI from Mauritius in 2014-15.

Fiji broke the record for the biggest win in international football with a 38-0 victory over Micronesia.This match was played under Pacific Games 2015. Fiji trounced the Federated States of Micronesia by 38-0 to break Australia's long standing record 0f 31-0 against America Samoa. That win came way back in 2001 during an Oceania confederation qualifier for the 2002 World Cup
