April 2019 to March 2020 declared as Construction Technology year

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared April 2019-March 2020 as Construction-Technology year at the Construction Technology India-2019 Expo-cum-conference in New Delhi.

• Construction-Technology year emphasizes the role of advanced technology to meet the increasing demand for housing in the country. The declaration of Construction year aims to gives the housing sector a new pace by using the latest technologies available in the world. India has even launched the Global Housing Technology Challenge to fast-track the construction of affordable housing and meet the target of constructing 1.2 crore houses by 2022.

Usha Thorat-led task force to ensure stability of external value of rupee

• The Reserve Bank of India constituted an eight-member task force on offshore rupee markets, headed by Usha Thorat former Deputy Governor, to look into issues related to the markets and recommend appropriate policy measures to ensure the stability of the external value of the rupee.

• The terms of reference of the task force include assessing the causes behind the development of the offshore rupee market; study the effects of the offshore markets on the rupee exchange rate and market liquidity in the domestic market; and recommend measures to address concerns, if any, that may arise out of offshore rupee trading.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chairs National Security Council meet

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the National Security Council on Sunday following heightened tensions with Pakistan

• He Official sources said the meeting was attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

• The NSA is tasked with advising the prime minister on matters of national security.

• It was set up by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government in 1998, with Brajesh Mishra as the first National Security Advisor (NSA).

Sushma Swaraj addresses OIC Foreign Ministers plenary session in Dubai

• External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj addressed the plenary session of the foreign ministers’ meet of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation states in Abu Dhabi.

• She presented a picture of the secular fabric of India and began the speech by saying that she stands as a representative of land that has been for ages a fountain of knowledge, a beacon of peace, a source of faiths and traditions, and home to religions from the world.

Centre, ADB sign 926 million loan agreement to operationalize two lines of Mumbai Metro

• The Union Government on March 1, 2019 signed a 926 million dollar loan agreement to operationalize two of the Mumbai Metro Rail System.

• The move will ease the distress of millions of commuters each day and help provide a cleaner and less congested city. The loan agreement was signed by Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary (Fund Bank and ADB), Department of Economic Affairs, on the behalf of the Indian Government and Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director of ADB's India Resident Mission on behalf of ADB.

• The carriages procured under this project will feature high-level safety features and automation, including surveillance systems, door closing, and train obstacle detectors.

Govt approves Adani Powers Rs 14,000 crore Jharkhand SEZ project.

• The government has approved a Rs 14,000-crore special economic zone (SEZ) project of Adani Power in Jharkhand, which will export the entire power generated in the Unit to Bangladesh.

• It will be ready by the end of 2022.

• The company had sought approval for setting up the project over an area of 425 hectares.

• Two supercritical units of 800 MW each would be set up with an investment of Rs 14,000 crore, which would include setting up of a water pipeline and a power evacuation system.

PM Modi flagged off Tejas Express, fastest train between Chennai and Madurai.

• This train will be the fastest in the Chennai-Madurai corridor and is India’s first semi-high speed fully AC luxury train.

• PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for two other projects which will boost rail infrastructure in Tamil Nadu.

• PM laid the foundation stone for the restoration of rail connectivity between Rameswaram and Dhanushkodi. The 17.20 Km railway line project is worth Rs 208 crore.

• Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of new bridge Pamban viaduct. This will be India's first ever vertical moving bridge. The cost of this project is Rs 250 crore.

India signed deal with Russian firm to produce 7.5 lakh AK-203 rifles

• For the AK-203 Assault Rifles, the deal was signed between the OFB (Ordnance Factories Board) and the Russian company Concern Kalashnikov.

• The AK-203 rifles, the latest derivative of the AK-47 rifles, will be produced at the Indian Ordnance Factory at Amethi's Korwa.

• The new 7.5 lakh rifles will replace the indigenous INSAS rifles in the Army, Air Force and Navy.

• AK-47, officially known as the Avtomat Kalashnikova, is the most basic model followed by AK 74, 56, 100 series and 200 series.

INTERNATIONAL:

NASA created a deep ocean conditions in lab to study origins of life.

• Scientists from NASA, the U.S. space agency, have reproduced deep ocean conditions in the lab to re-create a life that could have formed on the sea floor four billion years ago.

• The study focuses on how the building blocks of life form in hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor. It could offer clues to how life started on Earth. Hydrothermal vents are places on the seafloor where warm water from under the Earth’s crust mixes with near-freezing seawater. These vents form natural chimneys, which play host to all kinds of ocean life.

• The team at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California made their own miniature sea floors by filling beakers with mixtures that mimic Earth’s primordial ocean.

• Macky Sall has been re-elected as the President of Senegal. He won the re-election with58.27% of votes cast. Under the election system of Senegal if a candidate wins more than 50% votes there would be no second round voting and he would be announced the winner.

Shashank Shekhar claimed 10 km Nepals (COAS) Marathon and Run for Fun.

• Shashank Shekhar won the 10-kilometre race of Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Open Marathon and Run for Fun which was held in Nepal’s Capital- Kathmandu.

वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 को निर्माण- प्रौद्योगिकी वर्ष घोषित किया गया-

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 को शनिवार को निर्माण प्रौद्योगिकी वर्ष घोषित कर दिया। तेजी से बढ़ते शहरीकरण के इस दौर में उन्होंने देश में आवास की बढ़ती मांग को पूरा करने के लिये उन्नत प्रौद्योगिकी के इस्तेमाल पर भी जोर दिया। उन्होंने 2022 तक हर भारतीय को घर देने के सरकार के लक्ष्य को पाने में निजी क्षेत्र से समर्थन मांगा। मोदी ने निर्माण प्रौद्योगिकी भारत-2019 प्रदर्शनी सह संगोष्ठी का उद्घाटन करते हुए कहा कि उनकी सरकार ने किफायती आवास पर मुख्य ध्यान दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने रीयल एस्टेट क्षेत्र से संबंधित नियम-कानूनों को बदला और इसके साथ ही कौशल विकास के साथ ही प्रौद्योगिकी में सुधार किया।

• उन्होंने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन की सरकार ने 1.30 करोड़ घर बनाए हैं जबकि पिछली सरकार महज 25 लाख घर ही बना पायी थी। उन्होंने कहा, ‘आंकड़े खुद बोलते हैं। इससे दिखता है कि हम गरीबों और मध्यम वर्ग के घर के सपने को पूरा करने के अपने लक्ष्य के प्रति किस तरह समर्पित हैं।

रुपए के बाह्य मूल्य की स्थिरता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए उषा थोराट के नेतृत्व में टास्क फोर्स का गठन किया गया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने बाजारों से संबंधित मुद्दों पर गौर करने और रुपये के बाहरी मूल्य की स्थिरता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए उचित नीतिगत उपायों की सिफारिश करने के लिए पूर्व उप राज्यपाल उषा थोराट की अध्यक्षता में अपतटीय रुपये के बाजारों पर आठ सदस्यीय टास्क फोर्स का गठन किया है।

• इस समिति के कार्य में ऑफशोर रूपी मार्केट/अपतटीय रुपए बाज़ार (Off Shore Rupee Market) के विकास के कारकों पर भी ध्यान देने के साथ ही यह समिति घरेलू बाज़ार में विनिमय दरों तथा बाज़ार तरलता पर अपतटीय बाज़ारों से पड़ने वाले प्रभावों का भी अध्ययन करेना है.

• यह समिति भारतीय मुद्रा के अप्रवासी भारतीयों के बीच चलन/उपयोग बढ़ाने के प्रयासों पर भी विचार करेगी।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने की राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा परिषद की बैठक

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने पाकिस्तान के साथ तनाव के बीच रविवार को राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा परिषद की बैठक की अध्यक्षता की।आधिकारिक सूत्रों ने कहा कि बैठक में गृहमंत्री राजनाथ सिंह, वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली, विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज और रक्षा मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने भी हिस्सा लिया। केंद्रीय मंत्रियों के साथ ही राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार अजीत डोभाल और विदेश सचिव विजय गोखले ने भी बैठक में शिरकत की।

• राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार (एनएसए) राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के विषयों पर प्रधानमंत्री मोदी को सलाह देते हैं। अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी सरकार ने 1998 में इस पद का गठन किया था। उन्होंने ब्रजेश मिश्रा को पहला एनएसए बनाया था। एनएससी नियमित आधार पर बैठक करती है लेकिन ताजा बैठक मौजूदा सुरक्षा परिदृश्य में महत्वपूर्ण मानी जा रही है। मालूम हो कि पुलवामा हमले के बाद से भारत-पाकिस्तान के बीच भारी तनाव बना हुआ है।

सुषमा स्वराज ने दुबई में OIC के विदेश मंत्रियों के सत्र को संबोधित किया-

• विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज ने अबू धाबी में इस्लामिक सहयोग राज्यों के संगठन के विदेश मंत्रियों की बैठक के पूर्ण सत्र को संबोधित किया।

• स्वराज ने भारत के धर्मनिरपेक्ष ताने-बाने की एक तस्वीर पेश की और यह कहकर भाषण शुरू किया कि वह उस देश के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में खड़ी हैं, जो कि युगों से ज्ञान का स्रोत, शांति का प्रतीक, विश्वासों और परंपराओं का स्रोत, और दुनिया से धर्म की जन्मभूमि है।

केंद्र, एडीबी ने मुंबई मेट्रो की दो लाइनों के संचालन के लिए 926 मिलियन ऋण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए-

• केंद्र और एशियाई विकास बैंक (ADB) ने मुंबई मेट्रो रेल प्रणाली की दो लाइनों के संचालन के लिए 926 मिलियन डॉलर के ऋण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

• यह एडीबी इतिहास में ADB बोर्ड द्वारा अनुमोदित एकल सबसे बड़ा बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजना ऋण है। एक बार 2022 के अंत तक चालू होने के बाद, प्रतिदिन अनुमानित दो मिलियन यात्री दो नई लाइनों का उपयोग कर सकेंगे और बेहतर सुरक्षा एवं आराम में यात्रा करेंगे।

सरकार ने झारखंड सेज परियोजना को 14,000 करोड़ रु स्वीकृत किये-

• सरकार ने झारखंड में अडानी पावर के 14,000 करोड़ रुपये के विशेष आर्थिक क्षेत्र (SEZ) परियोजना को मंजूरी दी है, जो एक इकाई को बांग्लादेश में उत्पादित पूरी बिजली का निर्यात करेगा।

• यह 2022 के अंत तक तैयार हो जाएगा।

• कंपनी ने 425 हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में परियोजना स्थापित करने के लिए मंजूरी मांगी थी।

• 800 मेगावाट की दो सुपरक्रिटिकल इकाइयां प्रत्येक 14,000 करोड़ रुपये के निवेश के साथ स्थापित की जाएंगी, जिसमें एक पानी की पाइपलाइन और एक बिजली निकासी प्रणाली की स्थापना शामिल होगी।

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने तेजस एक्सप्रेस को हरी झंडी दिखाई, चेन्नई और मदुरै के बीच सबसे तेज ट्रेन-

• यह ट्रेन चेन्नई-मदुरै कॉरिडोर में सबसे तेज होगी और भारत की पहली सेमी-हाई स्पीड पूरी तरह से एसी लग्जरी ट्रेन है।

• प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने दो अन्य परियोजनाओं की आधारशिला भी रखी, जो तमिलनाडु में रेल बुनियादी ढांचे को बढ़ावा देंगे।

• प्रधानमंत्री ने रामेश्वरम और धनुषकोडि के बीच रेल संपर्क की बहाली के लिए आधारशिला रखी। 17.20 किलोमीटर रेलवे लाइन परियोजना 208 करोड़ रुपये की है।

• प्रधानमंत्री ने नए पुल पंबन वायडक्ट के निर्माण की आधारशिला भी रखी। यह भारत का पहला ऊर्ध्वाधर पुल होगा। इस परियोजना की लागत 250 करोड़ रुपये है।

भारत ने 7.5 लाख AK-203 राइफल्स का उत्पादन करने के लिए रूसी फर्म के साथ समझौता किया-

• भारत ने 7.5 लाख AK-203 राइफल बनाने के लिए एक रूसी फर्म के साथ एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। ये AK-47 राइफल के नवीनतम व्युत्पन्न हैं। रक्षा मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा है कि अमेठी के कोरवा में भारतीय आयुध निर्माणी में AK-203 राइफल का उत्पादन किया जाएगा। नई राइफलें सेना, वायु सेना और नौसेना में स्वदेशी INSAS राइफलों की जगह लेंगी।

नासा ने जीवन की उत्पत्ति का अध्ययन करने के लिए प्रयोगशाला में एक गहरी महासागरीय परिस्थिति बनाई-

• अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा के वैज्ञानिकों ने चार अरब साल पहले समुद्र तल पर बनने वाले जीवन को फिर से बनाने के लिए प्रयोगशाला में गहरे समुद्र की स्थिति का पुनरुत्पादन किया है।

• अध्ययन इस बात पर केंद्रित है कि महासागर तल पर हाइड्रोथर्मल वेंट में जीवन के निर्माण ब्लॉक कैसे होते हैं। यह सुराग दे सकता है कि पृथ्वी पर जीवन की शुरुआत कैसे हुई। हाइड्रोथर्मल वेंट्स सीफ्लोर पर स्थित हैं, जहां पृथ्वी की पपड़ी के नीचे से गर्म पानी निकट-बर्फ़ीले समुद्री जल के साथ मिल जाता है। ये वेंट प्राकृतिक चिमनी बनाते हैं, जो सभी प्रकार के समुद्री जीवन की मेजबानी करते हैं।

• कैलिफोर्निया में नासा की जेट प्रोपल्शन लेबोरेटरी (JPL) की टीम ने पृथ्वी के आदिकालीन महासागर की नकल करने वाले मिश्रणों के साथ बीकर भरकर अपनी लघु समुद्री मंजिलें बनाईं।

7th Guinness Book of World Record Created By DEPwD in Bharuch, Gujarat.

• A National Conference on “Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS) was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot. Mr. Gehlot stated that the “7th Guinness Book of World Record” has been created by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD).

Doordarshan launches Rock the Night, a programme for rock music.

• Doordarshan today launched Rock the Night, a brand new programme for rock music. This programme will air at DD National from 5th of March. DD has envisioned Rock the Night as a platform for indie rock bands to showcase their talent.

• The show is dedicated to the soldiers who keep the nation safe. He also expressed his love for artists like Cliff Richards, The Bee Gees, and Smokie.

India’s Food grain output in 2018-19 maybe 281.37 MT: Second Advance Estimate.

• The second advance estimates for the production of most of the crops for the agricultural year 2018-19 been released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare.

Cabinet approves Rs 1,450 crore for share capital of RBI in NHB.

• The National Housing Bank (NHB) has been set up to operate as the principal agency to promote housing finance institutions in India.

• Up till now, the authorised capital of NHB stands at ₹2,000 crore of which ₹1,450 crore has been subscribed by RBl. Currently, the capital is fully subscribed by RBl.

IIT (BHU) scientist discovered tadpole-like jets on Sun

• Scientists led by IIT (BHU) researcher Abhishek Srivastava have discovered tadpole-shaped jets coming out of regions with intense magnetic fields on the Sun.

• Formally called pseudo-shocks, the "tadpoles" are made entirely of plasma, which accounts for an estimated 99% of the observable universe.

• It could help understand why corona (Sun's upper atmosphere) is over 200 times hotter than its surface.

Swine Flu cases has increased in Gujarat

• Swine Flu in Gujarat has become an epidemic as almost 100 new cases are reported from across the state per day. So far, 3000 cases and 99 deaths in two months has been reported.

• Since January 1st, 2164 people have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals while 853 people are under treatment for H1N1 influenza, which has already claimed 99 lives in this year since January 1st. On average, 80-100 cases and 2-3 deaths are being reported per day for the last two weeks.

Delhi Cabinet approved the reimbursement cost of fitting hydraulic lifts in CNG buses

• The Delhi Cabinet approved the reimbursement cost of fitting hydraulic lifts in 1,000 standard-floor Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses that are going to be procured. In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Transport Department’s proposal was approved to provide efficient and environmental friendly modes of public transport to Delhiites.

• The hydraulic lifts are to be fitted in 1,000 standard-floor buses, enabling them to be used by differently abled people as directed by both Supreme Court and Delhi High Court. The government has made a commitment before the Supreme Court that it will bear the cost of installation of lifts in 1,000 standard-floor buses.

Cabinet approved the Ordinance for arbitration centre

• The Union Cabinet has approved the promulgation of an Ordinance for establishing the New Delhi International Arbitration Centre (NDIAC) in an effort to make India a hub of institutionalized arbitration. The establishment of institutionalized arbitration will be to the advantage of the public and public institutions in terms of quality of expertise and costs incurred.

• The NDIAC will be headed by a chairperson who will be appointed by the Centre in consultation with the Chief Justice of India. There will also be two full-time or part-time members. They will be eminent persons having substantial knowledge and experience in institutional arbitration.

• The NDIAC Bill, 2019, could not be taken up for consideration and passing by the Rajya Sabha in the recently concluded session. Therefore, the government, in view of the urgency to make India a hub of institutionalized arbitration and promote ‘ease of doing business’, has decided to promulgate an Ordinance: ‘The NDIAC, 2019’.

• West Indies opener Chris Gayle become the first batsman ever to smash 500 or more sixes in international cricket. In the 4th ODI against England in Grenada, Gayle scored 162 runs.

• His innings contained a staggering 14 sixes and powered the Windiest to their highest-ever ODI score of 389.

Sanath Jayasuriya banned for 2 years after ICC anti-corruption probe

• The former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya has been banned for two years from all cricket-related activity by the ICC's anti-corruption unit.

• He was punished for refusing to co-operate with investigations concerning corruption in the country.

• Jayasuriya played 110 Tests, 445 one-day internationals and 31 Twenty20s for Sri Lanka and was also a former captain during his illustrious career between 1989-2011.

• He is also a former member of Sri Lanka's parliament and a former deputy minister

• A book titled, 'Mann Ki Baat - A Social Revolution on Radio' was released by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi.

• The book is a compendium encompassing 50 editions of the 'Mann Ki Baat' programme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on All India Radio.

• The father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi used to communicate in very simple language with people and his Salt Satyagraha had an electrifying effect.

• Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee travelled, he used to carry a small transistor along to listen to Radio News.

APPOINTMENTS:

Ravneet Gill is appointed as MD and CEO of Yes Bank

• Ravneet Gill, Former India chief of Deutsche Bank, took charge as the Managing Director (MD) and chief executive officer of private sector lender Yes Bank. He will have a three-year term.

• Mr. Gill succeeds Rana Kapoor, the co-founder of the bank, whose term ended on January 31, 2019. Mr.Ajai Kumar, one of the board members, was appointed as the interim CEO after Mr. Kapoor’s term ended. Yes Bank decided to search for a new chief executive after the RBI declined to extend Mr. Kapoor’s tenure beyond January 31, 2019, though the board had endorsed a three-year extension.

Air Marshal Raghunath Nambiar takes over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Air Command

• Air Marshal Raghunath Nambiar, who played a prominent role in the Kargil Operations has taken over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force.

• The Air Marshal is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the Flying Branch of the Air Force as a Fighter Pilot in June 1981.

• The Air Marshal reviewed a ceremonial Guard of Honour yesterday and outlined his vision for the Western Air Command. He exhorted all personnel to work with zeal and enthusiasm so as to enable Western Air Command to fulfil the objectives of the IAF and the nation at large.

• The Air Marshal is an Experimental Test Pilot and has flown about 42 types of aircraft.

INTERNATIONAL:

South Korea to help U.S. and North Korea reach a deal

• South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in announced that South Korea will work with the U.S. and North Korea to ensure they reach agreement on denuclearisation, a day after talks between the U.S. and North Korean leaders collapsed over sanctions.

• A second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, in Vietnam, was cut short after they failed to reach a deal on the extent of sanctions relief North Korea would get in exchange for steps to give up its nuclear programme.

Sitting Judge of Delhi HC Justice Valmiki J Mehta passed away

• Mehta, who was 59 years old, had assumed office as an Additional Judge of Delhi high court on April 15, 2009.

• Mehta got enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1982 and began his career in law by practising in the Delhi High Court, district courts and various tribunals in civil matters.

• He was appointed a Senior Advocate at the age of 42, on September 22, 2001.

कैबिनेट ने NHB में RBI की शेयर पूंजी के लिए 1,450 करोड़ रुपये की मंजूरी दी-

• राष्ट्रीय आवास बैंक (NHB) की स्थापना भारत में आवास वित्त संस्थानों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रमुख एजेंसी के रूप में की गई है।

• अब तक, NHB की अधिकृत पूंजी of 2,000 करोड़ है, जिसमें has 1,450 करोड़ RBl द्वारा सदस्यता ली गई है। वर्तमान में, राजधानी आरबीएल द्वारा पूरी तरह से सब्सक्राइब की गई है।

• IIT (BHU) के शोधकर्ता अभिषेक श्रीवास्तव के नेतृत्व में वैज्ञानिकों ने सूर्य पर तीव्र चुंबकीय क्षेत्र वाले क्षेत्रों से निकलने वाले टैडपोल आकार के जेट की खोज की है।

• औपचारिक रूप से छद्म-झटके कहा जाता है, “टैडपोल” पूरी तरह से प्लाज्मा से बने होते हैं, जो अवलोकन योग्य ब्रह्मांड के अनुमानित 99% के लिए जिम्मेदार हैं।

गुजरात में स्वाइन फ्लू के मामले बढ़े -

• दिल्ली कैबिनेट ने 1,000 स्टैंडर्ड सीएनजी फ्लोर बसों में हाइड्रॉलिक लिफ्ट लगाने पर आने वाली लागत के भुगतान के प्रस्ताव को शुक्रवार को मंजूरी प्रदान कर दी। इस कदम का मकसद दिव्यांग लोगों को लाभान्वित करना है।इन बसों की खरीद दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा की जा रही है। दिल्ली सरकार के एक बयान के अनुसार मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल की अध्यक्षता में हुयी कैबिनेट की बैठक में दस साल के लिए वार्षिक रखरखाव लागत सहित हाइड्रॉलिक लिफ्ट की बढ़ी लागत के भुगतान के लिए परिवहन विभाग के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दी गयी।

• उच्चतम न्यायालय और दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय के निर्देश पर 1,000 स्टैंडर्ड फ्लोर सीएनजी बसों में हाइड्रॉलिक लिफ्ट लगायी जानी है ताकि दिव्यांग जन उनका उपयोग कर सकें। बयान में कहा गया है कि कैबिनेट ने 1,000 बसों में लिफ्ट लगाने की कुल लागत 36,33,96,000 रुपये (जीएसटी सहित) के भुगतान के लिए मंजूरी दी। स्टैंडर्ड फ्लोर बसों में ऐसी लिफ्ट लगाने की तकनीक भारत में नयी है

कैबिनेट ने मध्यस्थता केंद्र के लिए अध्यादेश को मंजूरी दी-

• केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने भारत को संस्थागत मध्यस्थता का एक केंद्र बनाने के प्रयास में नई दिल्ली अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मध्यस्थता केंद्र (NDIAC) की स्थापना के लिए एक अध्यादेश की घोषणा को मंजूरी दी है। संस्थागत मध्यस्थता की स्थापना विशेषज्ञता और गुणवत्ता की लागत के संदर्भ में सार्वजनिक और सार्वजनिक संस्थानों के लाभ के लिए होगी।

• NDIAC की अध्यक्षता एक अध्यक्ष द्वारा की जाएगी जिसे भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश के परामर्श से केंद्र द्वारा नियुक्त किया जाएगा। इसमें दो पूर्णकालिक या अंशकालिक सदस्य भी होंगे। वे संस्थागत मध्यस्थता में पर्याप्त ज्ञान और अनुभव रखने वाले प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्ति होंगे।

NATIONAL:

Union Bank of India reduced the MCLR by 10 basis points

• Union Bank of India, the State-run lender, said it had reduced the Marginal Cost of funds-based Lending Rate (MCLR) by 10 basis points across all tenors.

• The lender has reduced its one-year MCLR or the minimum lending rate, against which most of the consumer loans are benchmarked, to 8.60% from 8.70% earlier. The bank has set the new six-month MCLR at 8.50% and two-year at 8.70%.

RBI has formed a task force on the offshore rupee market

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has formed a task force on the offshore rupee market. It will be headed by former Deputy Governor Usha Thorat and will recommend steps for ensuring the stability of the currency.

• The task force shall examine the issues relating to the offshore rupee markets in depth and recommend appropriate policy measures that also factor in the requirement of ensuring the stability of the external value of the rupee. The committee would submit its report by the end of June 2019.

• The task force will assess the causes behind the development of the offshore rupee market, and study the effects on the exchange rate and market liquidity in the domestic market. It would also recommend measures to address concerns arising out of offshore rupee trading.

Growth Rate in the Core Sector witnessed decline

• The data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industries reported that the growth rate eight core sectors which include coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilizers, steel, cement, and electricity witnessed a decline. The core sector which had witnessed a 6.2% growth in January 2018 witnessed a growth rate of 1.8% in January.

• The decline in the output of crude oil, refinery products, and electricity pulled down the growth of eight core sectors to 1.8%. Production of crude oil, refinery products, and electricity contracted 4.3%, 2.6%, and 0.4%, respectively. Coal and cement output slowed to 1.7% and 11% in January as against 3.8% and 19.6% in January 2018, respectively. Natural gas, fertilizers and steel output grew 6.2%, 10.5%, and 8.2 % respectively. The core sector growth would impact the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) as these segments account for about 41 percent of the total industry output.

DCB Bank launches Open Banking Platform for next generation banking solutions.

• Creating a collaborative ecosystem with enterprises, fintech and app developers, and enhancing customer-service delivery, DCB Bank announced the launch of its Open Banking Platform.

• More than 20 start-ups, fintech, merchants, enterprises and developers are set to partner with DCB Bank for access to its Open Banking Platform APIs (Application programming interface) and collaborate on innovation and customer centric products.

Mainamati Maitree Exercise 2019 held between BSF and BGB.

• Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) concluded a three-day Mainamati Maitree Exercise 2019 as a part of confidence-building measures between the two border guards. The exercise was held in Comilla district of Bangladesh.

• The objective of Mainamati Maitree Exercise 2019 was to plan and conduct anti-smuggling and anti-criminal activity related operations with an aim to achieve better joint operational efficiency and border management in the area. The exercise involved joint patrolling, anti-smuggling drills, and simulated raids on suspected places in both the countries and checking of goods and identity at international check posts.

PNB bank ranks highest in implementation of Reforms Agenda

• Punjab National Bank (PNB) secured top spot among all public sector banks in the implementation of ‘Reforms agenda’.

• PNB topped the list with a score of 78.4 out of 100 in the EASE-index which is followed by BoB (77.8), SBI (74.6), and Oriental Bank of Commerce (69).

• The EASE (Enhanced Access and Service Excellence) report shown significant enhancement in PSB performance on the back of Government’s 4 R's strategy- recognition, recovery, recapitalisation and reforms.

Cabinet approves setting up of 22nd AIIMS at Manethi, Haryana

• The new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Manethi, District Rewari, and Haryana will be established at a cost of Rs 1,299 crore.

• Like other AIIMS in the country, the AIIMS Rewari will also be set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).

• The new AIIMS will add 100 Undergraduate (MBBS) seats and 60 B.Sc (Nursing) seats.

IRCTC launched its own digital payment gateway 'IRCTC iPay'.

• With a view to promote Government’s Digital India initiative, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation(IRCTC) has launched its much awaited own payment aggregator system called "IRCTC iPay”.

• The new system will provide payment options like Credit Card, Debit card, Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and International card.

Ajay Narayan Jha became Member of the 15th Finance Commission.

• Shri Ajay Narayan Jha joined the 15th Finance Commission as its Member in place of Shri Shaktikanta Das resigned as a Member of the Commission after being appointed as Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

• A 1982 batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre, he was the Finance Secretary to the Government of India and served as Secretary to the 14th Finance Commission, headed by former RBI Governor, Shri Y.V. Reddy.

• The 15th Finance Commission was constituted by a Presidential Order in November 2017 under the Chairmanship of Shri N. K. Singh to decide the formula for devolution of revenue between Centre and States.

Naresh Goyal agreed to step down as Jet Airways chairman

• This comes weeks after reports suggested that the cash-strapped Jet airline has agreed to most of the conditions set by its second-largest shareholder Etihad for its revival.

• Etihad had agreed to invest in Jet Airways if Goyal stepped down from the board.

• Etihad Airways owns a 24% stake in Jet Airways

• Jet airline had a gross debt of ₹8,411 crore as of September-end, including aircraft debt of ₹1,851 crore

RBI have signed a bilateral swap agreement with the Bank of Japan

• Reserve Bank of India (RBI) have signed a bilateral swap agreement with the Bank of Japan. The Swap agreement will provide India access to 75 billion US dollars against the 50 billion dollars under earlier BSA.

• The bilateral swap agreement will provide India to access the reserves if at any point of time when the need arises. The currency swap makes it easier to improve liquidity conditions. Currency swap agreements help when the economic crisis arises.

• The swap agreements also contribute towards stabilizing the country's balance of payments (BOP) position. The agreement aids in improving confidence in the Indian market.

India’s first policy to protect bank locker launched by IFFCO Tokio General Insurance.

• IFFCO Tokio General Insurance launched ‘bank locker protector policy’, the first stand-alone bank locker cover offered by any insurance company with a plan to protect the contents of a bank locker such as jewellery, title documents, and other valuables.

• The policy offers a cover against various risks including fire, earthquake, burglary, and holdup, infidelity by a bank staff or any act of terrorism.

• Important documents kept in a locker can also be insured under the policy as an add-on cover.

• The policy can be sold both as a retail and a group policy for banks

• Russia and China vetoed a US resolution at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on addressing the crisis in Venezuela.

• Russia's draft resolution -- which urged a settlement "through peaceful means" and insisted that all humanitarian aid be agreed by Maduro's government -- won only four votes: Russia, China, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea.

• Seven countries including the United States, European countries and Peru opposed the Russian measure and there were four abstentions.

यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया ने MCLR में 10 बेसिस प्वाइंट की कमी की-

• यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया, द्वारा संचालित ऋणदाता, के अनुसार सभी किरायेदारों के आधार पर धन आधारित उधार दर (एमसीएलआर) की सीमांत लागत को 10 आधार अंकों तक घटा दिया गया है।

• ऋणदाता ने अपनी एक साल की एमसीएलआर या न्यूनतम उधार दर को कम कर दिया है, जिसके खिलाफ अधिकांश उपभोक्ता ऋण बेंचमार्क हैं, 8.70% से 8.60% पहले था, बैंक ने नए छह महीने के लिए MCLR को 8.50% और दो साल के लिए 8.70% पर सेट किया है।

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने अपतटीय रुपया बाजार में एक टास्क फोर्स का गठन किया-

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने अपतटीय रुपया बाजार में एक टास्क फोर्स का गठन किया है। इसकी अध्यक्षता पूर्व उप राज्यपाल उषा थोराट करेंगी और मुद्रा की स्थिरता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कार्यों की सिफारिश करेगी।

• टास्क फोर्स अपतटीय रुपये के बाजारों से संबंधित मुद्दों की गहराई से जांच करेगा और उचित नीतिगत उपायों की सिफारिश करेगा जो रुपये के बाहरी मूल्य की स्थिरता को सुनिश्चित करने की आवश्यकता के लिए भी कारक है। समिति जून 2019 के अंत तक अपनी रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करेगी।

• टास्क फोर्स अपतटीय रुपये के बाजार के विकास के पीछे के कारणों का आकलन करेगा, और घरेलू बाजार में विनिमय दर और बाजार की तरलता पर पड़ने वाले प्रभावों का अध्ययन करेगा। यह अपतटीय रुपये के व्यापार से उत्पन्न चिंताओं को दूर करने के उपायों की भी सिफारिश करेगा।

कोर सेक्टर में विकास दर में गिरावट पाई गई-

• चुनावी साल में सरकार को इकॉनमी के मोर्चे पर बड़ी चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। तीसरी तिमाही में जहां जीडीपी ग्रोथ रेट घटकर 6.6 पर्सेंट पर आ गई है, वहीं जनवरी में कोर सेक्टर की ग्रोथ भी घटकर 1.8 पर्सेंट रह गई। यह पिछले 19 महीने में कोर सेक्टर का सबसे कमजोर प्रदर्शन है। इससे पहले जून 2017 में कोर सेक्टर की ग्रोथ 1 पर्सेंट के साथ सबसे कम रही थी।

• सरकार के गुरुवार को जारी आंकड़ों के अनुसार बिजली, कोयला, क्रूड और रिफाइनरी प्रॉडक्ट्स सेक्टर का प्रदर्शन जनवरी में खराब रहा, जिससे कोर सेक्टर की ग्रोथ घटकर 1.8 पर्सेंट पर आ गई। इससे पिछले महीने यानी दिसंबर, 2018 में कोर सेक्टर की ग्रोथ 2.6 पर्सेंट थी। कोर सेक्टर की सुस्त ग्रोथ का इंडस्ट्रियल प्रॉडक्शन पर भी बुरा असर पड़ेगा क्योंकि उसमें इनका वेटेज 40 पर्सेंट है। कोर सेक्टर में कोयला, क्रूड ऑइल, नैचुरल गैस, रिफाइनरी प्रोडक्ट्स, फर्टिलाइजर्स, स्टील, सीमेंट और इलेक्ट्रिसिटी शामिल हैं।

आरबीआई, बैंक आफ जापान के बीच 75 अरब डालर का मुद्रा अदला-बदली समझौता

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक और बैंक आफ जापान ने 75 अरब डालर के द्विपक्षीय मुद्रा अदला-बदली समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर का काम पूरा कर लिया है। इससे देश में विदेशी मुद्रा विनिमय तथा पूंजी बाजार में बड़ी स्थिरता आएगी। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की 29 अक्टूबर 2018 को जापान की राजधानी टोक्यो की यात्रा के दौरान द्विपक्षीय मुद्रा अदला-बदली समझौते (बीएसए) पर बातचीत हुई थी।

• वित्त मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा, ‘‘बीएसए भारत को 75 अरब डालर तक की विदेशी मुद्रा की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराता है जबकि पूर्व में इसके तहत 50 अरब डालर का प्रावधान था। बीएसए व्यवस्था आज यानी 28 फरवरी 2019 से प्रभाव में आ गयी है।’’ इससे भारत के पास भुगतान संतुलन के उपयुक्त स्तर को बनाये रखने या अल्पकाल में नकदी की जरूरतों के लिये 75 अरब डालर तक की व्यवस्था उपलब्ध होगी। बयान के अनुसार, ‘‘भारत अपनी जरूरत के हिसाब से इसका उपयोग कर सकता है। फिलहाल विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार संतोषजनक स्तर पर है।’’

India and Sweden intend to increase cooperation on AMR

• Swedish Minister for Health and Social Affairs, Lena Hallengren, who was on a visit to India from 22nd to 25th February 2019, met with Union Health Minister J P Nadda and discussed about Anti-microbial resistance (AMR) which poses a dangerous challenge globally.

• Anti-microbial drugs, when overused, AMR develops as microorganisms such as bacteria, virus and fungi that become resistant to drugs.

• India and Sweden signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in the field of various issues, including AMR, communicable diseases and public health, in February 2009.

NITI Aayog partnered with Adobe to enhance digital literacy

• NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and software major Adobe has signed a Statement of Intent to collaboration enhancing digital literacy and creativity skills.

• Under the agreement, Adobe would implement the Adobe Digital Disha Programme across 100 schools under Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) initiative. Teachers and Children across these 100 schools would benefit from the creative learning resources via free access to Adobe Spark premium.

Tamil Nadu is the first State in the country to introduce TAVI

• Tamil Nadu is the first State in the country to introduce Tran’s catheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) in the government sector. The TAVI was launched at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital (TNGMSSH), Omandurar Estate, in November 2018.

• Tamil Nadu State government entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Heart Team India to perform the procedure for patients at the TNGMSSH. The procedure costs Rs.20 lakh to Rs.25 lakh in the private sector, while it is done free in the government sector.

• Conventionally, open heart surgery is performed for replacing the aortic valve for treating aortic stenosis. But not all patients such as the elderly are fit to undergo open heart surgery. This is where TAVI helps as in this procedure the valve is replaced through a keyhole procedure from the groin.

Government may offer up to Rs 2.5 lakh subsidy for 60,000 e-cars

• To promote green fuel in India via a Rs 10,000-crore package, government has reportedly proposed a subsidy of up to 2.5 lakh on around 60,000 electric cars in India, whereas hybrid cars may get 20,000 over the next three years.

• For electric buses, the subsidy would be up to Rs 60 lakh.

• This subsidy will come into effect in April.

Punjab Govt seeks Rs 412 crore for dam to stop water to Pakistan

• Punjab government has urged the central government to release Rs 412 crore for the construction of a dam at Makora Pattan on the confluence of Ravi and Ujh rivers in Gurdarpur district by considering it as a national project for stopping India’s river water flow into Pakistan.

• The construction of the dam at Makora Pattan would stop about 600 cusecs of river water flowing into Pakistan and Punjab could use this water for irrigation purposes.

• With this project, Punjab government would also be able to provide clean drinking water to 100 villages and six townships.

New railway zone, named Southern Coast Railway to be headquartered in Visakhapatnam

• Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced a new railway zone for Andhra Pradesh.

• Railway, which will be headquartered in Visakhapatnam, will be the 18th zone in the country.

• The new zone will comprise the existing Guntakal, Guntur and Vijayawada divisions that currently fall under the South Central Railway.

Cabinet approved the National Mineral Policy 2019 on 28th February

• The Union Cabinet approved the National Mineral Policy 2019 on 28th February 2019. The policy is aimed at bringing about more effective regulation to the sector as well as a more sustainable approach while addressing the issues of those affected by mining.

• The policy will also provide a more effective, meaningful and implementable policy that brings in further transparency, better regulation, and enforcement, balanced social and economic growth as well as sustainable mining practices.

• It also aims to increase the share of Indian software products in global market by tenfold, pitches for nurturing of 10,000 technology start-ups in software product industry, including 1,000 such startups in tier-II and tier-III towns.

Union Cabinet approved the National Policy on Software Products

• The Union Cabinet approved the National Policy on Software Products 2019 that aims to help the industry grow at CAGR of 40% to reach $70-80 billion by 2025 while creating employment opportunities for 3.5 million people.

• The policy aims to adopt a shift in strategy so that IT products also contribute equitably and significantly to the industry along with IT services. The government’s initial outlay of Rs.1, 500 crore is being planned for various schemes under in policy in the next seven years.

• Further, the policy proposes to create a Rs.5, 000 crore fund with industry participation to promote emerging technology such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Block chain, Big Data, and robotics. Of this, government contribution will be Rs.1, 000 crore.

SCHEME:

HRD launched STARS scheme on 28th February

• The Union Human Resource Minister Prakash Javadekar launched the STARS scheme on National Science Day that is 28th February. STARS are abbreviated as Scheme for Translational and Advanced Research in Science.

• The Ministry has allocated Rs.250 crores for the implementation of the scheme. Under the scheme 500 science projects will be funded whose selection will be made based on competition. Indian Institute of Science (IISC) will be the coordinator of the scheme.

HRD Ministry Launches SHREYAS Scheme

• Union Human Resources Development Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar, launched the “Scheme for Higher Education Youth in Apprenticeship and Skills (SHREYAS)”.

• Main aim to provide industry apprenticeship opportunities to the general graduates exiting in April 2019 through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) in New Delhi.

• The program will enhance the employability of Indian youth by providing ‘on the job work exposure’ and earning of stipend.

AGREEMENTS AND MOUS:

India and Brunei signed an agreement to exchange information on tax and banking matters

• India and Brunei signed a pact for exchange of Information and Assistance in Collection with respect to taxes in order to curb tax evasion and tax avoidance in New Delhi.

• This agreement will facilitate both the countries to exchange information, including banking and ownership information for tax purposes and will also avail mutual assistance in collection of tax revenue claims.

भारत व स्वीडन एएमआर पर सहयोग बढ़ाएंगे : स्वीडन के विदेश मंत्री-

• स्वीडन के स्वास्थ्य और सामाजिक मामलों के मंत्री, लीना हल्लेनग्रेन, जो 22 से 25 फरवरी, 2019 तक भारत की यात्रा पर थे, ने केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री जे पी नड्डा के साथ मुलाकात की और एंटी-माइक्रोबियल प्रतिरोध (एएमआर) के बारे में चर्चा की, जो विश्व स्तर पर एक खतरनाक चुनौती है।

• एंटी-माइक्रोबियल ड्रग्स, जब अति प्रयोग किया जाता है, तो एएमआर बैक्टीरिया, वायरस और कवक जैसे सूक्ष्मजीवों के रूप में विकसित होता है जो दवाओं के लिए प्रतिरोधी बन जाते हैं।

डिजिटल साक्षरता बढ़ाने के लिये एडोब, अटल इनोवेशन मिशन के बीच करार-

• नीति आयोग के अटल नवाचार मिशन (एआईएम) तथा साफ्टवेयर कंपनी एडोब ने देश में सभी अटल टिंकरिंग लैब में डिजिटल साक्षरता के प्रसार तथा रचनात्मक कौशल विकसित के लिये बुधवार को भागीदारी को लेकर बुधवार को आशय पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किये।

• आधिकारिक बयान के अनुसार दोनों पक्षों ने सभी अटल टिंकरिंग लैब में सामूहिक रूप से रचनात्मक कौशल विकसित करने तथा देश में डिजिटल साक्षरता के प्रसार के लिए आशय पत्र (एसओए) पर हस्ताक्षर किये। नीति आयोग के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी अमिताभ कांत की उपस्थिति में हस्ताक्षर किये।

तमिलनाडु TAVI की शुरुआत करने वाला देश का पहला राज्य -

• सरकारी क्षेत्र में ट्रान के कैथेटर महाधमनी वाल्व प्रत्यारोपण (TAVI) की शुरुआत करने वाला तमिलनाडु देश का पहला राज्य है। TAVI को नवंबर 2018 में तमिलनाडु सरकार के मल्टी सुपर स्पेशियलिटी हॉस्पिटल (TNGMSSH), ओमानुदर एस्टेट में लॉन्च किया गया था।

• तमिलनाडु राज्य सरकार ने TNGMSSH पर मरीजों के लिए प्रक्रिया करने के लिए हार्ट टीम इंडिया के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन में प्रवेश किया। यह प्रक्रिया निजी क्षेत्र में 20 लाख से रु25 लाख तक है, जबकि सरकारी क्षेत्र में यह निशुल्क किया जाता है।

पंजाब सरकार ने पाकिस्तान को पानी रोकने के लिए बांध के लिए 412 करोड़ रुपये की मांग की-

• केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 28 फरवरी 2019 को राष्ट्रीय खनिज नीति 2019 को मंजूरी दी। इस नीति का उद्देश्य खनन से प्रभावित लोगों के मुद्दों को संबोधित करते हुए इस क्षेत्र में अधिक प्रभावी विनियमन और साथ ही अधिक टिकाऊ दृष्टिकोण लाना है।

• यह नीति एक अधिक प्रभावी, सार्थक और कार्यान्वयन योग्य नीति भी प्रदान करेगी जो आगे की पारदर्शिता, बेहतर विनियमन और प्रवर्तन, संतुलित सामाजिक और आर्थिक विकास के साथ-साथ स्थायी खनन प्रथाओं को भी लाती है।

• इसका उद्देश्य वैश्विक बाजार में भारतीय सॉफ्टवेयर उत्पादों की हिस्सेदारी को दस गुना तक बढ़ाना है, सॉफ्टवेयर उत्पाद उद्योग में 10,000 प्रौद्योगिकी स्टार्ट-अप के पोषण के लिए पिचें, जिसमें टियर- II और टियर- III शहरों में 1,000 ऐसे स्टार्टअप शामिल हैं।

केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने सॉफ्टवेयर उत्पादों पर राष्ट्रीय नीति को मंजूरी दी-

• केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने सॉफ्टवेयर उत्पाद 2019 पर राष्ट्रीय नीति को मंजूरी दी, जिसका उद्देश्य 3.5 मिलियन लोगों के लिए रोजगार के अवसर पैदा करते हुए 2025 तक उद्योग को 40% तक पहुंचने में मदद करना है।

• नीति का लक्ष्य रणनीति में बदलाव को अपनाना है ताकि आईटी उत्पादों के साथ-साथ उद्योग में भी समान और महत्वपूर्ण योगदान हो। अगले सात वर्षों में सरकार द्वारा विभिन्न योजनाओं के लिए रु 1,500 की प्रारंभिक परिव्यय की योजना बनाई जा रही है।

HRD ने 28 फरवरी को STARS योजना शुरू की-

• केंद्रीय मानव संसाधन मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने 28 फरवरी को राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिवस पर STARS योजना की शुरुआत की। STARS को स्कील फॉर ट्रांसलेशनल एंड एडवांस्ड रिसर्च इन साइंस कहा जाता है।

• मंत्रालय ने योजना के कार्यान्वयन के लिए 250 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए हैं। योजना के तहत 500 विज्ञान परियोजनाओं को वित्त पोषित किया जाएगा जिनका चयन प्रतिस्पर्धा के आधार पर किया जाएगा। भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान (IISC) इस योजना का समन्वयक होगा।

मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय ने SHREYAS योजना शुरू की-

• केंद्रीय मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री, श्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने “अपरेंटिशिप एंड स्किल्स (SHREYAS) में उच्चतर शिक्षा प्राप्त युवाओं के लिए योजना” की शुरुआत की।

• मुख्य उद्देश्य नई दिल्ली में राष्ट्रीय शिक्षुता संवर्धन योजना (NAPS) के माध्यम से अप्रैल 2019 में निकलने वाले सामान्य स्नातकों को उद्योग शिक्षुता अवसर प्रदान करना है।

• यह कार्यक्रम भारतीय युवाओं के रोजगार को 'कार्य प्रदर्शन' और 'वजीफे की कमाई' प्रदान करके बढ़ाएगा।

अनुबंध और समझौते:

भारत और ब्रुनेई ने कर और बैंकिंग मामलों पर सूचना के आदान-प्रदान के लिए एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए-

• अल्पसंख्यक कार्य मंत्री मुख्तार अब्बास नकवी ने कहा कि हज 2018 जहां एक तरफ बिना सरकारी सब्सिडी के होगा, वहीं बहुत समय बाद हज यात्रा के लिए हवाई किराया सबसे सस्ता होगा। इस बार हज यात्रा किराया दिसंबर 2013 में हज 2014 के लिए निर्धारित किराये की तुलना में काफी कम होगा।

• उन्होंने कहा कि एयरफेयर कटौती यूपीए शासन के तहत होने वाले शोषण को समाप्त करेगी।

• मालदीव की अंदरूनी सियासत में जारी संकट भारत के साथ उसके द्विपक्षीय रिश्तों को प्रभावित कर रहा है। ताजा मामले में मालदीव ने भारत द्वारा आयोजित क्षेत्रीय नौसैनिक अभ्यास में शामिल होने से इनकार कर दिया है। मालदीव ने आठ दिवसीय नौसैनिक अभ्यास ‘मिलन’ में शामिल होने का भारत का निमंत्रण ठुकरा दिया है और समझा जाता है कि उस द्वीपीय देश में आपातकाल के मद्देनजर यामीन सरकार की आलोचना करने पर उसने भारत को यह प्रतिक्रिया दी है

• भारत ने कहा था कि यह महत्वपूर्ण है कि मालदीव लोकतंत्र की राह पर लौट आए।

• पंजाब नेशनल बैंक (पीएनबी) के 11,300 करोड़ रुपये के घोटाले की जांच तेज हो गई है। सूत्रों का कहना है कि अन्य बैंकों के अधिकारी भी जांच के घेरे में हैं, जिन बैंकों की विदेशी शाखाओं से पीएनबी के धोखाधड़ी वाले साख पत्रों (एलओयू) के जरिये कर्ज दिया गया उनके अधिकारी भी जांच के घेरे में आ गये हैं।

• रु 12700 करोड रूपयें से अधिक की राशि, जो कि पीएनबी के 2016-17 के शुद्ध लाभ से लगभग 10 गुना अधिक है।

PM Modi Inaugurated 40-Acre National War Memorial in New Delhi

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated a new National War Memorial, situated in the India Gate complex in New Delhi, to the nation.

• The National War Memorial, spread over 40 acres in the India Gate complex behind the canopy, is dedicated to soldiers killed during the Indo-China War in 1962, Indo-Pak Wars in 1947, 1965 and 1971, Indian Peace Keeping Force Operations in Sri Lanka and in the Kargil Conflict in 1999, and also those in the UN peacekeeping missions.

FAGMIL Signs MoU with Himachal Pradesh to Establish India's 4th White Cement Plant Project

• Under its diversification programme, FCI Aravali Gypsum and Minerals India Limited (FAGMIL) has taken up a project to establish a white cement plant near village Nohra Dhar in Himachal Pradesh, at a project cost of approximately Rs. 605 crores.

• It will be the 4th white cement plant in the country. The installed capacity of the plant would be 0.3 million tonnes per annum and it will generate the direct employment of approximately150 persons.

Madhya Pradesh Government Launched ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Swabhiman Yojana’

• Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath launched the State Government’s flagship scheme ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Swabhiman Yojana’ that guarantees 100 days of employment every year to urban youth from economically weaker sections.

• Under the scheme, Rs 4,000 stipend per month during 100 days period, would be given to the youth and they will also be given skill development training in order to become independent. (Only those youths, whose family’s annual income is less than Rs 2 lakh and who are in the age group of 21-30 years, are eligible for the scheme).

India strikes back: IAF jets destroy Jaish terror camps across LoC

• In retaliation to the deadly Pulwama terror attack, the Indian Air Force fighter jets crossed the line of control in the early hours of February 26, 2019 and attacked Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

• The same was confirmed by the Indian Foreign Secretary, Vijay Gokhale during a press conference in New Delhi on the same day. The Foreign Secretary revealed that India has struck the biggest training camp of JeM in Balakot.

• The Indian Air Force used Mirage-2000 jets to drop 1000 kg of laser-guided bombs causing an estimated casualty of 200-300. In the intelligence led operation, India struck the biggest training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.

President Conferred 'Gandhi Peace Prize'

• President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the Gandhi Peace Prize for 2015, 16, 17 and 18 at a function in Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

• The award comprises a cash award of one crore rupees, a citation in a scroll, a plaque and a traditional handicraft item.

• Here are the awardees that were facilitated at the occasion:

1. For 2015: Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari was given the award for its contribution in Rural Development, Education and Development of natural resources.

2. For 2016: Jointly to Akshaya Patra Foundation for its contribution in providing mid-day meals to millions of children across India and Sulabh International for its contribution in improving the condition of sanitation in India and emancipation of manual scavengers.

3. For 2017: Ekal Abhiyan Trust for its contribution in providing Education for Rural and Tribal Children in remote areas pan India, Rural Empowerment, Gender, and Social Equality.

4. For 2018: Japan's Yohei Sasakawa for his contribution in Leprosy Eradication in India and across the world.

Lifetime Achievement Award For G.R. Karthikeyan

• G.R. Karthikeyan, father of India’s first Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement award at the FMSCI annual awards function.

• She was Pepsico CEO from October 2006 to October 2018, where she also served as the Chairman of its board of directors from May 2007 to February 2019.

Afghanistan Scores Highest Ever T20 International Score

• Afghanistan scored 278 for the loss of three wickets from their allotted 20 overs, to register the highest-ever total in T20s at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

• Hazratullah Zazai scored 162 runs from just 62 balls. Zazai became the first player from Afghanistan to score 150 or more runs, and his 236-run opening stand with Usman Ghani became the highest partnership in T20Is.

Sri Lanka Becomes 1st Ever Asian Team To Win Test Series In South Africa

• Sri Lanka cricket team became the first Asian side to win a Test series in South Africa after winning the series by 2-0.

• Kusal Perera was given the Man of the Series award. Before Sri Lanka, only Australia and England have defeated South Africa in a Test series at home.

Grandmaster Abhijeet Gupta Wins Cannes International Open Trophy

• Indian Grandmaster Abhijeet Gupta lifted the Cannes International Open trophy. He took an easy draw with Pier Luigi Basso of Italy in the ninth and final round.

• Abhijeet won the tournament with 7.5 points. It is his first solo International tournament victory.

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने नई दिल्ली में इंडिया गेट परिसर में स्थित एक नए राष्ट्रीय युद्ध स्मारक को राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया।

• राष्ट्रीय युद्ध स्मारक, चंदवा के पीछे इंडिया गेट परिसर में 40 एकड़ में फैला, 1962 में भारत-चीन युद्ध के दौरान एवं 1947, 1965 और 1971 में भारत-पाक युद्ध, भारतीय शांति सेना बल संचालन 1999 में श्रीलंका और कारगिल संघर्ष में मारे गए सैनिकों के लिए समर्पित है।

FAGMIL ने भारत के चौथे व्हाइट सीमेंट प्लांट प्रोजेक्ट की स्थापना के लिए हिमाचल प्रदेश के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए-

• अपने विविधीकरण कार्यक्रम के तहत, एफसीआई अरावली जिप्सम एंड मिनरल्स इंडिया लिमिटेड (एफएजीएमआईएल) ने हिमाचल प्रदेश के गाँव नोहरा धार के पास लगभग 605 करोड़। रु की लागत से एक सफेद सीमेंट संयंत्र स्थापित करने की योजना बनाई है।

• यह देश में चौथा सफेद सीमेंट संयंत्र होगा। संयंत्र की स्थापित क्षमता 0.3 मिलियन टन प्रति वर्ष होगी और यह लगभग150 व्यक्तियों के प्रत्यक्ष रोजगार को उत्पन्न करेगा।

मध्य प्रदेश सरकार ने शुरू की मुख्यमंत्री युवा स्वाभिमान योजना-

• मध्यप्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री कमलनाथ ने राज्य सरकार की फ्लैगशिप योजना मुख्यमंत्री युवा स्वाभिमान योजना ’शुरू की, जो आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्गों के शहरी युवाओं को हर साल 100 दिन के रोजगार की गारंटी देती है।

• इस योजना के तहत, 100 दिनों की अवधि के दौरान प्रति माह 4,000 रुपये वेतन, युवाओं को दिया जाएगा और उन्हें स्वतंत्र होने के लिए कौशल विकास प्रशिक्षण भी दिया जाएगा। (केवल वे युवा, जिनके परिवार की वार्षिक आय 2 लाख रुपये से कम है और जो 21-30 वर्ष के आयु वर्ग में हैं, योजना के लिए पात्र हैं।)

भारत ने लिया पुलवामा का बदला, वायु सेना ने किए आतंकी कैंपों पर हमले-

• घातक पुलवामा आतंकी हमले के प्रतिशोध में, भारतीय वायु सेना के लड़ाकू जेट विमानों ने 26 फरवरी, 2019 के शुरुआती घंटों में नियंत्रण रेखा पार की और पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले कश्मीर में जैश-ए-मोहम्मद के आतंकी शिविरों पर हमला किया।

• भारतीय विदेश सचिव, विजय गोखले ने उसी दिन नई दिल्ली में एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन के दौरान इसकी पुष्टि की। विदेश सचिव ने खुलासा किया कि भारत ने बालाकोट में जैश-ए-मोहम्‍मद के सबसे बड़े प्रशिक्षण शिविर पर हमला किया है।

• भारतीय वायु सेना के सूत्रों के अनुसार, 26 फरवरी को सुबह साढ़े 3 बजे 12 मिराज 2000 भारतीय लड़ाकू जेट विमानों ने एलओसी के पार जाकर आतंकवादी शिविरों पर हमले किए हैं और इन्हें पूरी तरह से नष्ट कर दिया है। आतंकी ठिकानों पर 1000 किलोग्राम बम गिराए गए। 12 मिराज 2000 जेट विमानों ने इस ऑपरेशन में हिस्सा लिया।

GST Council reduces GST Rate on Real Estate projects

• The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council met on February 24, 2019 for its 33rd meeting and slashed GST rate on under-construction residential properties and the affordable housing projects.

• In case of non-affordable houses, the GST rate for under-construction flats and houses has been brought to 5 percent without Input Tax Credit (ITC), down from the present 12 percent. In case of affordable houses, the GST rate has been reduced to 1 percent without ITC from 8 percent.

Aero India 2019 culminates; Drone Olympics held

• The 12th biennial edition of International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition, Aero India 2019 culminated on February 24, 2019 at Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bengaluru.

• For the first time, the 2019 edition of Aero India combined the defence and civil aviation segments into a holistic event with the co-involvement of the defence and civil aviation ministries. The 12th edition of Aero India intended to be a “Runway to a billion opportunities” and put India on the Global map.

PM-KISAN: PM Modi launches ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’ from Gorakhpur, UP

• The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2019 launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

• On the launch day itself, the first instalment of Rs 2,000 was directly credited to the bank accounts of selected beneficiary farmers. Around 12 crore farmers are expected to benefit from PM-KISAN. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was announced in the Union Interim Budget 2019 by Finance Minister Piyush Goyal.

Oscars 2019: ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ wins most Oscars

• The 91st Academy Awards, popularly known as Oscar Awards, were conferred on February 24, 2019 (February 25 as per Indian time). 'Bohemian Rhapsody', nominated for five Oscars, won the most Oscars at the award show.

• The ‘Period. End of Sentence’, a film on menstruation set in rural India, won the Oscar in the Documentary - Short Subject category at the 91st Academy Awards. The film has been directed by Rayka Zehtabchi and produced by Indian producer Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment.

Afghanistan begins export to India via Chabahar port

• Afghanistan has begun exports to India through Iran’s Chabahar port. At the inauguration of the new export route in Zaranj city in western Nimroz province, President Ashraf Ghani said Chabahar port is the result of healthy cooperation between India, Iran and Afghanistan.

• Afghanistan’s exports will increase to two billion dollar from the current one billion dollar in the next year.

• Indian ambassador Vinay Kumar said Afghanistan’s exports to India have increased by 40 percent after the launch of air corridor between Kabul and New Delhi.

23 trucks carrying 57 tonnes of dried fruits, textiles, carpets and mineral products were dispatched from Zaranj to Chabahar port to be shipped to Mumbai.

Cobra Gold, one of world’s largest multinational military exercises, held in Thailand

• Thailand and the United States hosted the annual Cobra Gold military exercise, the biggest activity of its type in the Asia-Pacific region with 29 nations taking part as participants or observers.

• Apart from the 2 countries, 7 countries who participated in the exercise were India, Singapore, Japan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea.

• The Indian Army participated in the military training exercise with a 14-member contingent.

• Thai Chief of Defense Forces,Gen. Pornpipat Benyasri and the commander of the U.S. Army.

BANKING & FINANCE

RBI formalised USD 75-billion swap pacts with Bank of Japan

• This arrangement would bring in greater stability to the foreign exchange and capital markets in India since it will enable the availability of $75-billion in foreign capital for use as and when the need arises.

• In February, the rupee had shown signs of a rebound and it remained one of the best performing among the emerging market currencies.

• The rupee closed at 71.14 on Friday. The local unit fell about 2% so far this year, after an 8.5% drop in 2018 amid sharp swings in global crude oil prices.

SPORTS

India suspended by IOC from Hosting International Sporting Events after Pakistan Shooters were Denied Visa

• The International Olympic Committee (IOC) suspended all Indian applications to host future events and urged international sports federations not to stage competitions in the country after two Pakistanis were denied visas to compete in New Delhi.

• It was after India denied of entry visas for two shooters from Pakistan who were due to take part in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup event held in New Delhi following the attack by a Pakistan-based militant group in Pulwama, which killed at least 40 CRPF paramilitary police.

• The IOC Executive Board decided to suspend all discussions with the Indian National Olympic Committee (NOC) and Government regarding the potential applications for hosting future sports and Olympic–related events in India, until clear written guarantees are obtained from the Indian government to ensure the entry of all participants in such events in full compliance with the rules of the Olympic Charter.

ONGC Rajahmundry wins environmental excellence award

• Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)’s Rajahmundry unit won the Energy and Environment Foundation Global Clean Awards-2019 for sustained efforts in pursuit of Swachh Bharat Mission as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at a function in New Delhi.

• It has also received Platinum Award under Apex India Environment Excellence Award 2018from Apex India Foundation for excellence in environmental management in Petroleum Sector.

Manpreet Singh named as Player of the Year and Lalremsiami as Rising Player of The Year by the Asian Hockey Federation

• Harmanpreet Singh was awarded the 2018 Player of the Year award while women’s team striker Lalremsiami as the Rising Player of The Year, by the Asian Hockey Federation.

• Harmanpreet Singh led the Indian team to an unbeaten streak at the Asian Champions Trophy in Muscat where the team was declared joint winners with Pakistan and also contributed to the team’s silver medal win at the FIH Champions Trophy in Breda. 18-year-old Lalremsiami, has shown remarkable progress in the women’s team with her impressive performance as a striker at the 2018 World Cup and the Asian Games where the team won Silver medal and was also a part of the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires where theunder-18 team won a silver.

• The Indian men’s team was awarded the Best Performance of The Year for being the only Asian side to have reached the top eight at the World Cup in Bhubaneswar.

जीएसटी काउंसिल: रियल एस्टेट परियोजनाओं पर जीएसटी दर कम-

• जीएसटी परिषद की 33वीं बैठक में रियल एस्टेट क्षेत्र को बड़े तोहफे की घोषणा को विशेषज्ञों ने क्रांतिकारी कदम बताया है। उनका कहना है कि निर्माणाधीन मकानों पर जीएसटी की दर 12 फीसदी से घटाकर 5 फीसदी किए जाने और किफायती मकानों पर 8 से घटाकर 1 फीसदी करने से लाखों तैयार मकानों की बिक्री में तेजी आएगी।

• गैर-किफायती घरों के मामले में, निर्माणाधीन फ्लैटों और मकानों के लिए जीएसटी दर को इनपुट टैक्स क्रेडिट (आईटीसी) के बिना वर्तमान 12 प्रतिशत से 5 प्रतिशत तक लाया गया है। किफायती घरों के मामले में, जीएसटी की दर बिना आईटीसी के 8 प्रतिशत से घटाकर 1 प्रतिशत कर दी गई है।

एयरो इंडिया 2019 में पहली ड्रोन ओलंपिक प्रतियोगिता बेंगलुरु में-

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एयरोस्पेस और रक्षा प्रदर्शनी के 12 वें द्विवार्षिक संस्करण, एयरो इंडिया 2019 का समापन 24 फरवरी, 2019 को बेंगलुरु के वायु सेना स्टेशन येलहंका में हुआ।

• पहली बार, एयरो इंडिया के 2019 संस्करण ने रक्षा और नागरिक उड्डयन क्षेत्रों को रक्षा और नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्रालयों की सह-भागीदारी के साथ एक समग्र घटना में जोड़ा। एयरो इंडिया के 12 वें संस्करण का उद्देश्य "रनवे टु द बिलियन ऑपर्च्युनिटीज़" होना था और भारत को ग्लोबल मैप पर लाना था।

PM-KISAN: प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने गोरखपुर, यूपी से प्रधानमंत्री किसान सम्मान निधि योजना ’शुरू की-

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 24 फरवरी, 2019 को उत्तर प्रदेश के गोरखपुर से प्रधानमंत्री किसान निधि योजना (पीएम- किसान) का शुभारंभ किया।

• लॉन्च के दिन ही, चयनित लाभार्थी किसानों के बैंक खातों में 2,000 रुपये की पहली किस्त सीधे जमा की गई थी। लगभग 12 करोड़ किसानों को PM-KISAN से लाभ होने की उम्मीद है। वित्त मंत्री पीयूष गोयल द्वारा केंद्रीय अंतरिम बजट 2019 में प्रधानमंत्री किसान निधि योजना की घोषणा की गई थी।

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने राष्ट्रीय युद्ध स्मारक को राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया-

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 25 फरवरी, 2019 को नई दिल्ली में एक समारोह में राष्ट्रीय युद्ध स्मारक को राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया।

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने देश की रक्षा में प्राण न्यौछावर करने वाले शहीदों की याद में बने राष्ट्रीय समर संग्रहालय का उद्धाटन कर उसे भारतवासियों को समर्पित किया। इस स्मारक की परिकल्पना 1961 में की गई थी। इंडिया गेट के पास 24 एकड़ में बने इस स्मारक पर 176 करोड़ रुपए का खर्च आया है। इस स्मारक में एक साथ 250 लोग आ सकते हैं। 2015 में कैबिनेट ने इसके निर्माण की मंजूरी दी थी।

• रेल मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने लोगों को देश भर में रेलवे में चल रहे काम के बारे में जानकारी देने के लिए नई दिल्ली में रेल द्रष्टि डैशबोर्ड लॉन्च किया। रेल मंत्रालय प्लेटफॉर्म के माध्यम से सुझाव और टिप्पणियां प्राप्त करेगा और भविष्य के कार्यों पर योजना बनाएगा।

चाबहार पोर्ट: अफगानिस्तान ने भारत को निर्यात के लिए खोला नया रास्ता-

• निर्यात के लिए नए रूट की शुरुआत करते हुए प्रेजिडेंट अशरफ गनी ने कहा कि अफगानिस्तान व्यापार घाटे को कम करने के लिए धीरे-धीरे निर्यात में सुधार कर रहा है। उन्होंने कहा, 'चाबहार पोर्ट भारत, ईरान और अफगानिस्तान के बीच स्वस्थ सहयोग का परिणाम है और यह आर्थिक वृद्धि सुनिश्चत करेगा।'

• अफगानिस्तान का निर्यात अगले एक साल में मौजूदा एक बिलियन डॉलर से बढ़कर दो बिलियन डॉलर हो जाएगा।

• भारतीय राजदूत विनय कुमार ने कहा कि काबुल और नई दिल्ली के बीच हवाई गलियारे के शुरू होने के बाद भारत में अफगानिस्तान का निर्यात 40 प्रतिशत बढ़ गया है।

• चारों तरफ जमीन से घिरा और युद्धग्रस्त यह देश अपनी अर्थव्यवस्था को सुधारने के लिए विदेशी बाजारों तक पहुंच बना रहा है। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि 57 टन ड्राई फ्रूट्स, टैक्सटाइल्स, कार्पेट और मिनरल प्रॉडक्ट्स लेकर 23 ट्रकों को पश्चिमी अफगान शहर जारंज से ईरान चाबहार पोर्ट के लिए रवाना किया गया। यह खेप यहां से जहाज के जरिए मुंबई पहुंचेगी।

बैंकिंग और वित्त

RBI ने बैंक ऑफ जापान के साथ 75 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर के स्वैप समझौते को औपचारिक रूप दिया-

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) और बैंक ऑफ जापान ने 75- बिलियन डॉलर के स्वैप समझौते को औपचारिक रूप दिया, जो कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय वित्तीय बाजारों के अस्थिर होने पर स्थानीय मुद्रा में किसी भी तेज परिवर्तन के खिलाफ एक उपाय के रूप में कार्य करेगा।
• यह विदेशी पूंजी में अमरीकी डालर 75 बिलियन की उपलब्धता को सक्षम करेगा और जब आवश्यकता होगी, भारत में विदेशी मुद्रा और पूंजी बाजार में अधिक स्थिरता लाएगा और रक्षा की दूसरी पंक्ति के रूप में काम करेगा, क्योंकि भारत में लगभग 398 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर अचानक डॉलर के बहिर्वाह उपाय के लिए आरक्षित है।
• जनवरी 2019 में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल द्वारा द्विपक्षीय स्वैप व्यवस्था के लिए एक समझौते में प्रवेश करने के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दी गई थी।

पाकिस्तान निशानेबाजों को वीजा के लिए मना किए जाने के बाद भारत को आईओसी ने इंटरनेशनल स्पोर्टिंग इवेंट होस्ट करने से निलंबित किया:

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति (आईऔसी) ने भविष्य के इवेंट की मेजबानी करने के लिए सभी भारतीय अनुरोधों को निलंबित कर दिया और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय खेल महासंघों से आग्रह किया कि देश में प्रतियोगिताओं में प्रतिस्पर्धा कराने के लिए मंच न दें, यह नई दिल्ली में दो पाकिस्तानियों को वीजा के लिए मना किए जाने के बाद किया गया है।
• भारत ने पाकिस्तान के दो निशानेबाजों के लिए प्रवेश वीजा से इनकार कर दिया था, जो पुलवामा में पाकिस्तान स्थित आतंकवादी समूह द्वारा किए गए हमले के बाद नई दिल्ली में आयोजित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शूटिंग स्पोर्ट फेडरेशन (आईएसएसएफ) विश्व कप प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेने के लिए आने वाले थे, हमले में कम से कम 40 सीआरपीएफ अर्धसैनिक पुलिस मारे गए थे।
• आईऔसी कार्यकारी बोर्ड ने भारत में भविष्य के खेलों और ओलंपिक से संबंधित कार्यक्रमों की मेजबानी के लिए संभावित अनुरोधों के बारे में भारतीय राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति (एनओंसी) और सरकार के साथ सभी चर्चाओं को स्थगित करने का फैसला किया, जब तक कि ओलंपिक चार्टर के नियमों के पूर्ण अनुपालन में इस तरह के आयोजनों में सभी प्रतिभागियों के प्रवेश सुनिश्चित करने के लिए भारत सरकार से स्पष्ट लिखित गारंटी नहीं ली जाती है।

Global Business Summit held in New Delhi

• The Global Business Summit can be the Davos of the East, said Vineet Jain, Managing Director of the Times group in the welcome address for the Economic Times Global Business Summit 2019 in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Global Business summit in New Delhi.

• Top Indian policy makers including, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, railways minister Piyush Goyal, commerce minister Suresh Prabhu and law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

PM Modi unveils Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme in Gorakhpur

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme in Gorakhpur. PM-KISAN scheme, announced in the interim Budget, released earlier this month will provide Rs 6,000 per year to small and marginal farmer families having combined land holding/ownership of upto 2 hectares. The amount will be given in 3 installments of Rs 2,000 each.

• The amount will be transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer. After launching the scheme, the Prime Minister also handed over certificates to select beneficiaries of the scheme.

GST on affordable housing properties reduced to 1 pc

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) on affordable housing properties without input tax credit (ITC) has been reduced to one per cent, while effective GST of 5 per cent shall be applicable without ITC on residential properties outside affordable segment, as was decided by the GST Council at its 33rd meeting. The new rate will be effective from April 1, 2019.

• In metros, a flat of 60 square meter carpet area and costing Rs 45 lakh in the apartment will fall in the affordable housing category. In non-metros, the size will be 90 square meter carpet area and costing Rs 45 lakh.

Odisha launches boat ambulance

• The Odisha government launched the boat ambulance service to help patients reach hospitals in remote areas cut off by rivers, at a cost of Rs 5.40 crore. The first boat ambulance was launched at Batighar in the Kendrapara district.

• Six boat ambulances will add to the road fleet and will be part of the 108 ambulance service. Patients from the areas cut off by rivers need to wait long for transportation to the nearest hospital. They would use boats to cross water bodies to the be picked up by 108 or 102 ambulance.

TN becomes first state in mainland to get 2 Coast Guard dists

• Necessitated by frequent issues pertaining to fishermen, Tamil Nadu became the first state in the country to get a second Coast Guard district headquarters – Thoothukudi.

• The first district headquarters is Chennai. Inaugurated by state Governor Banwarilal Purohit, the Thoothukudi district headquarters has been set up with an aim to augment security mechanism on the eastern coast and the state in particular.

Chennai to host ‘Science at Sabha’

• The fourth edition of ‘Science at the Sabha’ organized by The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, will be held in Chennai. The programme is part of the institute’s outreach programme to the common man. ‘Science at Sabha’ will be held at The Music Academy in Chennai.

• The event-like feature talks on topics like “Traffic rules in neurons” by Sandhya Koushika, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai; “Untwisting the twisted matter” by Vijay Shenoy and “The whole is more than the sum of its parts” by Sitabhra Sinha, The Indian Institute of Mathematical Science, Chennai.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS:

• Zimbabwe’s central bank began trading a sharply discounted replacement currency, attempting to ease a cash crunch that has hobbled the economy and plunged millions deep into poverty. Zimbabwe adopted the dollar in 2009 but, as a chronic hard currency shortage worsened, introduced a parallel system of bond notes that it pegged at 1:1 to the U.S. currency.

• Effectively reintroducing a national currency, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) said it would carry out a “managed float” of the surrogate, which fetches far less than a dollar on the black market. The bond notes and electronic dollars, locked in individuals’ accounts for months due to a lack of cash, will be merged into a separate currency called RTGS or real-time gross settlement dollars.

Saurabh wins gold at shooting World Cup

• Indian shooter Saurabh Chaudhary won gold in the men’s 10 meter air pistol category at the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi. In the final, the shooter created a new world record with a score of 245. This is the second gold for India in this tournament.

• Apurvi Chandela had taken the first gold for India when she won the title in the women’s 10m air rifle category.

• Member of Parliament Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been elected third time unopposed as the President of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). • Along with Brij Bhushan, I.D. Nanavati has been elected as the Senior Vice President, V.N. Prasood as the Secretary General and Satyapal Singh Deshwal as the Treasurer.

• प्रत्यक्ष लाभ अंतरण के माध्यम से राशि सीधे लाभार्थियों के बैंक खाते में स्थानांतरित की जाएगी। योजना शुरू करने के बाद, प्रधानमंत्री ने योजना के लाभार्थियों का चयन करने के लिए प्रमाण पत्र भी सौंपा।

किफायती आवास संपत्तियों पर जीएसटी 1 प्रतिशत तक घटी-

• इनपुट टैक्स क्रेडिट (आईटीसी) के बिना किफायती आवास संपत्तियों पर माल और सेवा कर (जीएसटी) एक प्रतिशत तक घटा दिया गया है, जबकि प्रभावी खंड के बाहर आवासीय संपत्तियों पर आईटीसी के बिना 5 प्रतिशत का प्रभावी जीएसटी लागू होगा, जैसा कि यह जीएसटी परिषद की 33 वीं बैठक तय किया गया था। नई दर एक अप्रैल, 2019 से प्रभावी होगी।

• महानगरों में, 60 वर्ग मीटर कालीन क्षेत्र का एक फ्लैट और अपार्टमेंट में 45 लाख रुपये की लागत किफायती आवास श्रेणी में आएगी। गैर-महानगरों में, आकार 90 वर्ग मीटर कालीन क्षेत्र होगा और लागत 45 लाख रुपये होगी।

ओडिशा ने शुरू की नाव एम्बुलेंस-

• ओडिशा सरकार ने 5.40 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से नदियों द्वारा काटे गए दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों में अस्पतालों तक पहुंचने में रोगियों की मदद के लिए नाव एम्बुलेंस सेवा शुरू की। पहली नाव एम्बुलेंस केंद्रपाड़ा जिले के बटीघर में शुरू की गई थी।

• छह नाव एम्बुलेंस सड़क के पोत समूह में शामिल हो जाएंगी और 108 एम्बुलेंस सेवा का हिस्सा होंगी। नदियों द्वारा काटे गए क्षेत्रों के मरीजों को निकटतम अस्पताल में परिवहन के लिए लंबे समय तक इंतजार करना पड़ता था। अब वे 108 या 102 एम्बुलेंस द्वारा उठाए जाने वाले जल निकायों को पार करने के लिए नावों का उपयोग करेंगे।

2 तट रक्षक जिलों को प्राप्त करने वाला तमिलनाडु मुख्य भूमि में पहला राज्य बन गया:
• .22 फरवरी 2019 को, तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल बनवारीलाल पुरोहित ने तमिलनाडु के थूथुकुडी में दूसरे तट रक्षक जिला मुख्यालय का उद्घाटन किया। तमिलनाडु दूसरा कोस्ट गार्ड जिला मुख्यालय पाने वाला भारत का पहला राज्य है। पहला जिला मुख्यालय चेन्नई है।
• दूसरा मुख्यालय मछुआरों द्वारा लगातार सामना किए जाने वाले मुद्दों से निपटने और अवैध शिकार विरोधी अभियान, खोज और बचाव मिशन और तटीय सुरक्षा उपायों को प्रदान करने के लिए स्थापित किया गया है।
• यह कमांडर तटरक्षक क्षेत्र (पूर्व) के तहत कार्य करेगा।
• परिचालन के क्षेत्र में पुडुकोट्टई, तंजावुर, रामनाथपुरम, थूथुकुडी, तिरुनेलवेली और कन्याकुमारी जिलों के तट के लगभग 680 किलोमीटर क्षेत्र शामिल होंगे।
• जिला मुख्यालय (तूतीकोरिन) के पहले जिला कमांडर का पद कोस्ट गार्ड डीआईजी अरविंद शर्मा को दिया गया है।

चेन्नई ने की साइंस एट द सभा' की मेजबानी -

• द इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मैथमैटिकल साइंसेज द्वारा आयोजित 'सभा में विज्ञान का चौथा संस्करण' चेन्नई में आयोजित किया गया। यह कार्यक्रम, संस्थान की आम आदमी तक पहुंच बनाने की कोशिश का हिस्सा है। 'विज्ञान सभा' चेन्नई में संगीत अकादमी में आयोजित की गयी।

Lt Gen Ravi: 3rd member of CoA.

• The Supreme Court appointed Lieutenant General Ravi Thodge as the 3rd member of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) for BCCI.

• In 2017, the apex court had appointed a 4-member CoA, headed by former Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) Vinod Rai.

Scheme for adolescent girls launched in UP.

• UP CM, Yogi Adityanath launched a scheme for girls on 21 February 2019.

• The state will also observe girls day on 8th of every month at Anganwadi centers across the state.

आईएएफ अधिकारी फाइटर जेट सोलो उड़ाने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला बनीं-
