●   It was first spotted by scuba divers Balaram Naidu and dive master Anil Kumar on December 21.

PIOs make ‘mini-world Parliament’

●   The 1st PIO-Parliamentarian Conference got inaugurated by Narendra Modi.
●   India reached out to lawmakers of Indian origin spread across the world.
●   The PIO Parliamentarian forum was planned last year.

Goa bird festival to offer pelagic avian tour

●   The second edition of the Goa Bird Festival will be held from January 12 to 14.

●   The petition wants Section 497 (adultery) IPC to be dropped as a criminal offence from the penal code.

●   Like WiFi, the light-fidelity (LiFi) technology uses both visible and near-visible light is used for free-space communication.

●   पीएसएलवी-सी 40 के प्रयोग से इसका प्रक्षेपण आंध्र प्रदेश के श्रीहरिकोटा केस्पेसपोर्ट से किया जाएगा, जो चेन्नई से लगभग 100 किलोमीटर दूर है।

सरकार ने 6 सार्वजनिक बैंकों को धन दिया

● सरकारी बैंकों से धन प्राप्त करने वाले बैंक हैं: बैंक ऑफ इंडिया, सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया, देना बैंक, आईडीबीआई बैंक, बैंक ऑफ महाराष्ट्र और यूको बैंक ।

●   हरियाणा की शूटर अनीसा सय्यद ने महिलाओं की 25 मीटर पिस्टल शूट में स्वर्ण जीता।
●   उन्होंने इस 61 वें राष्ट्रीय शूटिंग चैम्पियनशिप प्रतियोगिता में एक नया रिकॉर्ड भी बनाया।

चीन ने सफलतापूर्वक अपनी पहली फोटोवोल्टिक सड़क का परीक्षण किया

●   चीन ने सफलतापूर्वक देश के पूर्वी शेडोंग प्रांत में घरेलु प्रौद्योगिकी के आधार पर अपना पहला फोटोवोल्टिक हाईवे का परीक्षण किया।

लोकसभा ने दिवालियापन कानून में संशोधन किया

●   लोक सभा ने 29 दिसंबर 2017 को दिवालियापन कानून में संशोधन किया।
●   यह जानबूझकर क़र्ज़ न चुकाने वालों की रोकथाम के लिए किया गया है
●   इस संशोधन के मुताबिक कर्ज़दार व्यक्ति बोली लगाने की कार्यवाही में भाग नहीं ले सकते।
●   एक डिफॉल्टर, यदि वे अपने एनपीए के ब्याज के साथ सभी बकाया राशि वापस कर देते हैं तब वो एक संकल्प योजना जमा करने के लायक बन सकते हैं।

●   पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री अमरिंदर सिंह फरवरी में भारत की यात्रा के दौरान कनाडा के प्रधान मंत्री जस्टिन से मिलेंगे।

ई-वे बिल पारित

●   ई-वे बिल सिस्टम का कार्यान्वयन 1 फरवरी से अनिवार्य होगा।
●   इलेक्ट्रानिक तरीके (ई-वे) से बिलों की शुरूआत के बाद सरकार को माल और सेवा कर (जीएसटी) का संग्रह 20-25 फीसदी बढ़ने की उम्मीद है।
●   यह विधेयक ट्रकों के खेपों के आवागमन पर नज़र रखने और राजस्व रिसाव की जांच में मदद करेगा।
