 RBI had signed a Currency Swap Agreement with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka for $400 million under the existing SAARC (South Asian Association for regional corporation ) Currency Swap Framework within the overall limit of $2 billion.

Prashant Pathrabe was appointed as the new Director of Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) by the Union Govt. Prashant Pathrabe is the Director of National Film Archive of India (Pune) and he has been given the charge of FTII Director as additional charge. 

The Kerala Tourism has bagged this year's Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) award for its Muziris Heritage Project in the 'Heritage & Culture' category. The award, sponsored by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), went to the Muziris Heritage Project for its conservational efforts, uniqueness and impact on local community. The flagship project of the government of Kerala is one of the biggest heritage conservation projects of modern India.

India and Russia signed an agreement in defense sector. In a move aimed at boosting India’s defence sector. According to Indian Ambassador to Russia P.S. Raghavan the agreement is one of the several new defence projects on which the two countries are working on, including under the ambit of ‘Make in India’ programme.

The Haryana government appointed Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra as its brand ambassador for the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign to promote the cause of the girl child. She has bagged many awards including national and filmfare awards. Parineeti was chosen for the campaign as she hailed from the state's Ambala town. The campaign was launched from Haryana as the state has the worst sex ratio at 879 females per 1,000 males. The child sex ratio in Haryana is worst among all states in the country.

A PSU of Ministry of Railways, namely, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. bagged the 12^th National Awards for Excellence in Cost management 2014. Col Rajyavardhan Rathore (Retd.), AVSM,  This award is organized by The Institute of Cost Accounts of India. RailTel has won the award in the category of Public- Service Sector (Medium).

Canada has been named as the most reputable nation in the world, in a recent survey on how countries are perceived across the world. The north American country reclaimed the top spot in the Reputation Institute's annual report, which looks at the government, environment and economy of 55 nations. The top five countries in the survey are Canada, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and Australia

NASA's New Horizons spacecraft has discovered a vast, craterless plain in Pluto's 'heart' that appears to be no more than 100 million years old, and is possibly still being shaped by geologic processes.This frozen region is north of Pluto's icy mountains, in the centre-left of the heart feature informally named Tombaugh Region.

Move over frayed employment exchanges, the Union government is out with a new job website. Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the government’s job board called National Career Service (NCS) portal on Monday.
The portal aims to bring on board around 20 million job seekers already registered with employment exchanges across India. It also aspires to bring 900,000 establishments and companies on the portal. Currently, more than 44.7 million job seekers are registered with India’s 956 employment exchanges. Of them, at least 26.88 million are men and women below the age of 29, according to official data. The labor ministry believes the rationalization of number could bring down the overall number of registrations.
The NCS will offer registration for job aspirants and employers for free.
