Tamil Nadu women top the list of MUDRA loan scheme beneficiaries

• Women of Tamil Nadu have topped the list of women borrowers under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) since its inception.

• More than 15 crore loans amounting to ₹4.78-lakh-crore have been disbursed to women borrowers under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY).

• As on March 31, 2020 women in Tamil Nadu had availed Rs. 58,227 crore loan from the scheme followed by West Bengal Rs. 55,232 crore, Karnataka Rs. 47,714 crore, Bihar Rs. 44,879 crore and Maharashtra Rs. 42,000 crore loan.

NITI Aayog releases report on Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2020

• NITI Aayog has released the report on Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2020 in partnership with the Institute of Competitiveness. The report evaluates the export preparedness and performance of Indian states.

• It aims to identify the challenges and opportunities; improve the effectiveness of government policies; and promote a facilitative regulatory framework.

• Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu occupied the top three ranks in the Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2020.

Tata Group to launch “Super App” for digital services

• Tata Group is launching a new app named “Super App” purported to bring together the country’s disparate sales sector to offer a range of consumer goods.

• The app will put the conglomerate in competition with giants of the region like Reliance Industries and global titans like Amazon.

• The app will offer food and grocery ordering, fashion and lifestyle, consumer electronics and consumer durables, insurance and financial services, education, healthcare and bill payments.

RBI predicts India’s growth at (-) 4.5% for 2020-21

• The Reserve Bank of India has projected the country’s growth rate at (-) 4.5 percent for 2020-2021. In an annual report released by the bank on August 25, 2020, the global growth rate has been projected between (-) 6.0 percent and (-) 7.6 percent.

• The report also informed that the expected headline inflation will remain elevated in the current year but is likely to ease in the second half of the fiscal. While mentioning that it is difficult to accurately assess the economic impact of C-19 pandemic as the dynamics have still been evolving.

• Reserve Bank of India in its report mentioned that it looks like that the decline in economic activity had reached its trough in the April-June quarter of 2020-2021 and has recovered thereafter at a gradual pace.

• Former President of the Republic of Congo, Pascal Lissouba passed away. He served as the president from 1992 to 1997.

• He became the minister of agriculture in 1960 after Congo became an independent country.

• England's James Anderson has become the first-ever fast bowler to take 600 Test wickets. 38 year-old Anderson created history during England's third test match against Pakistan on August 25, 2020 in Southampton.

• He reached the milestone when he dismissed Pakistan's Azhar Ali and claimed his 600th Test wicket.

• Overall he is the 4th bowler to take 600 test wickets after 3 spinners Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, and Anil Kumble.

Indian Table Tennis star Poulomi Ghatak announced retirement

• Indian Table Tennis star, Poulomi Ghatak has announced retirement. The Kolkata-born athlete is a seven-time national champion, winning between 1998 and 2016.

• She had represented India at the Commonwealth Games in 2006 and Commonwealth championships between 2000 and 2008. She entered the Olympics in Sydney for the first time when she was 16.

• The board of directors of the company have given Satyanarayan Goel the additional charge of Managing Director and CEO for an interim period.

• Vinay Tonse has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Mutual Fund (MF).

• He will replace Ashwani Bhatia, who has been now appointed as the managing director (MD) of State Bank of India.

तमिलनाडु मुद्रा योजना के तहत महिलाओं को ऋण देने में रहा शीर्ष पर

• वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा राज्यसभा में प्रस्तुत किए गए आंकड़ों के अनुसार, तमिलनाडु प्रधान मंत्री मुद्रा योजना (PMMY) के तहत महिलाओं को ऋण देने की सूची में सबसे ऊपर है। इसके बाद पश्चिम बंगाल और कर्नाटक का स्थान है। वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा प्रस्तुत किए आंकड़ों के अनुसार, प्रधानमंत्री मुद्रा योजना की शुरुआत के बाद से महिला उधारकर्ताओं के लिए लगभग 4.78 लाख करोड़ रुपये के लगभग 15 करोड़ ऋण वितरित किए गए थे।

• 31 मार्च, 2020 तक, तमिलनाडु ने 58,227 करोड़ रुपये का लाभ उठाया था। अन्य राज्यों द्वारा प्रदान किए गए ऋण इस प्रकार हैं

पश्चिम बंगाल: 55,232 करोड़ रुपये

कर्नाटक: 47,714 करोड़ रुपये

बिहार: 44,879 रुपये

महाराष्ट्र: 42,000 करोड़ रुपये

• उपरोक्त सभी राज्यों में महिलाओं के लिए 52% मुद्रा ऋण प्राप्त हुए हैं। ऋणों का लाभ कृषि, सेवाओं, व्यापार, प्रसंस्करण, विनिर्माण आदि से संबंधित गतिविधियों के लिए लिया गया था, मुद्रा योजना के तहत प्रदान किए गए कुल ऋणों में से 70% उधारकर्ता महिलाएं थीं।

नीति आयोग ने एक्सपोर्ट प्रिपेडेन्स इंडेक्स (EPI) 2020 पर रिपोर्ट की जारी

• नीति आयोग ने प्रतिस्पर्धात्मकता संस्थान (Institute of Competitiveness) की साझीदारी में निर्यात तैयारी सूचकांक (Export Preparedness Index) 2020 पर रिपोर्ट जारी की है। इस रिपोर्ट में भारतीय राज्यों की निर्यात तैयारी और प्रदर्शन का मूल्यांकन किया गया है। इसका उद्देश्य चुनौतियों और अवसरों की पहचान करना, सरकारी नीतियों की प्रभावोत्पादकता को बढ़ाना और एक सुविधाजनक नियामकीय संरचना को प्रोत्साहित करना है। गुजरात, महाराष्ट्र और तमिलनाडु निर्यात तैयारी सूचकांक (EPI) 2020 में शीर्ष तीन स्थान पर है।

• टाटा समूह ने उपभोक्ता उत्पाद की एक श्रृंखला पेशकश करने के लिए देश के असमान बिक्री क्षेत्र को एक साथ लाने के लिए “Super App” नाम से एक नया ऐप लॉन्च किया है। यह ऐप रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज और अमेजन जैसे वैश्विक दिग्गजों को इस क्षेत्र में टक्कर देगा।

बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

FY21 में (-) 4.5% रह सकती है GDP ग्रोथ: RBI

• रिजर्व बैंक ने अनुमान जताया है कि भारत की जीडीपी ग्रोथ वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 में (-) 4.5% रह सकती है। ग्लोबल ग्रोथ को लेकर आरबीआई का अनुमान है कि यह सिंगल हिट सिनेरियो में (-) 6.0% फीसदी और डबल हिट सिनेरियो में (-) 7.6% रह सकती है। आरबीआई के अनुसार 68 दिनों के C-19 से आय में नुकसान (कैपिटल और लेबर) के कारण मैन्युफैक्चरिंग और माइनिंग सेक्टर्स को 2.7 लाख करोड़ रुपये तक का झटका लग सकता है।

• रिजर्व बैंक ने 2019-20 की वार्षिक रिपोर्ट पेश की। इसके एक हिस्से ‘आकलन और संभावनाएं’ में आरबीआई ने कहा है कि महामारी के बीच भारत को सतत वृद्धि की राह पर लौटने के लिए गहरे और व्यापक सुधारों की जरूरत है। केंद्रीय बैंक ने आगाह किया है कि इस महामारी की वजह से देश की संभावित वृद्धि दर की क्षमता नीचे आएगी। महामारी ने वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था को बुरी तरह से तोड़ दिया है। भविष्य में वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था का आकार इस बात पर निर्भर करेगा कि इस महामारी का फैलाव कैसा रहता है, यह महामारी कब तक रहती है और कब तक इसके इलाज का टीका आता है।

• राष्ट्रीय ई-गवर्नेंस डिवीजन (NeGD), इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और आईटी मंत्रालय (MeitY) ने CSC (कॉमन सर्विस सेंटर) e Governance Services India Limited के साथ भागीदारी की है।

कांगो के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति पास्कल लिसौबा का निधन

• कांगो गणराज्य के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति पास्कल लिसौबा (Pascal Lissouba) का निधन हो गया। वह 1960 में कांगो के स्वतंत्र देश बनने के बाद कृषि मंत्री बने थे। उन्होंने 1992 से 1997 तक राष्ट्रपति के रूप में कार्य किया था। उन्होंने अल्फोंस मासम्बा डिबेट के राष्ट्रपति काल में प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया था।

• कांगो गणराज्य के हाई कोर्ट ने 2001 में देशद्रोह और भ्रष्टाचार के लिए पास्कल लिसौबा को 30 साल की सजा सुनाई थी।

GoI and AIIB sign MoU for $500 million for Mumbai Urban Transport Project-III

• The Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has signed a loan agreement for a $500 million Mumbai Urban Transport Project-III.

• The aim of the project is to improve the network capacity, service quality and safety of the suburban railway system in Mumbai.

20-year old Indian wins ‘World's Fastest Human Calculator' title

• India’s Neelakanta Bhanu Prakash has won the ‘World's Fastest Human Calculator' title. The 20-year-old won the first-ever gold for India in Mental Calculation World Championship at Mind Sports Olympiad (MSO) held in London recently.

• Neelakanta Bhanu Prakash belongs to Hyderabad and he is currently pursuing Mathematics (Hons.) at Delhi University's St Stephen College. He is the proud owner of four world records and 50 Limca records for being the fastest human calculator in the world.

• Prakash’s brain can reportedly calculate quicker than the speed of a calculator. He has broked the records once held by Math maestros like Scott Flansburg and Shakuntala Devi.

Kerala’s 1st-ever Dragonfly Festival

• WWF-India Kerala State Office is joining hands with the Society for Odonate Studies (SOS) and Thumbipuranam for the first-ever state “Dragonfly Festival” in Kerala, christened ‘Thumbimahotsavam 2020’.

• Dragonfly Festival, a series of events will be rolled out in the coming months to reach out to various sections of the society.

• This is part of the National Dragonfly Festival organised by WWF India, Bombay Natural History Society and Indian Dragonfly Society in association with National Biodiversity Board, UN Environmental Programme, UN Development Programme and IUCN-CEC.

ICICI Bank uses satellite data to assess creditworthiness of farmers

• Private lender ICICI Bank makes use of satellite data, imagery from Earth observation satellites, to assess credit worthiness of farmers.

• ICICI Bank has become the 1st bank in India to use such a technique to measure an array of parameters related to the land, irrigation and crop patterns and use it in combination with demographic and financial parameters to make quick lending decisions for farmers.

Rs.8,594 cr to be disbursed to stressed NBFCs and HFCs

• The Finance Ministry said 24 proposals by stressed non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) and housing finance companies (HFCs) worth ₹8,594 crore have been sanctioned under the special liquidity scheme.

• The scheme was announced in July, as part of the ₹20.97 lakh crore ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ package.

Centre announces Tax exemptions for businesses with annual turnover of up to Rs 40 lakh

• The Ministry of Finance has announced that the businesses with an annual turnover of up to Rs 40 lakh are now GST exempt. Earlier, this limit was Rs 20 lakh.

• The Ministry has also informed that those businesses with an annual turnover up to Rs 1.5 crore can opt for the Composition Scheme and pay only 1 percent tax.

• Reshma Mohandas, a nurse with the Government Medical College (MCH), Kottayam, has been selected for the Tomyas Award worth ₹1 lakh for the best nurse in Kerala.

• The award was instituted in memory of Treesa Ignatius, mother of Thomas Pavaratti, owner of Thrissur-based Tomyas Advertising Agency.

• The Award will be presented by Bobby Paul and Antio Paul, directors of Star Plastics, at Tomyas Garden, Peramangalam, on October 2.

CCI approves Siemens’ acquisition of C&S Electric

• Fair trade regulator Competition Commission of India (CCI) said it approved the proposed acquisition of C&S Electric by Siemens.

• As per a statement issued by Siemens in January, it had inked an agreement to acquire 99 per cent equity in New Delhi-based C&S Electric for around Rs 2,100 crore.

Indian Satellite ‘AstroSat’ Detects UV Light From Galaxy 9 Billion Light Years Away

• India’s first multi-wavelength satellite, AstroSat, has detected an extreme ultraviolet (UV) light from a galaxy, called AUDFs01.This galaxy is 9.3 billion light-years away from Earth, in the Hubble Extreme Deep field.

• AstroSat is India’s first multi-wavelength satellite, which has five unique X-ray and ultraviolet telescopes working in tandem.The discovery was made by an international team of astronomers led by Dr Kanak Saha, associate professor of astronomy at the Pune-based Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA).

• This research was published on August 24, 2020, by Nature Astronomy.

• भारत के नीलकांत भानु प्रकाश ने विश्व का सबसे तेज मानव कैलकुलेटर ’खिताब जीता है। 20 वर्षीय ने हाल ही में लंदन में आयोजित माइंड स्पोर्ट्स ओलंपियाड (MSO) में मानसिक गणना विश्व चैम्पियनशिप में भारत के लिए पहला स्वर्ण पदक जीता।

• नीलकंठ भानु प्रकाश हैदराबाद से हैं और वह वर्तमान में दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के सेंट स्टीफन कॉलेज में गणित (ऑनर्स) कर रहे हैं। वह दुनिया में सबसे तेज मानव कैलकुलेटर होने के लिए चार विश्व रिकॉर्ड और 50 लिम्का रिकॉर्ड का गौरवशाली प्राप्‍त कर चुके है।

• प्रकाश का मस्तिष्क कैलकुलेटर की गति की तुलना में तेज गणना कर सकता है। उन्होंने स्कॉट मैन्सबर्ग और शकुंतला देवी जैसे मठ के महारथियों का एक बार रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिया है।

केरल में पहली बार "ड्रैगनफ्लाई फेस्टिवल"

• डब्ल्यूडब्ल्यूएफ-इंडिया केरल स्टेट ऑफिस सोसाइटी फॉर ओडोनेट स्टडीज (एसओएस) और थुंबिपुरनम के साथ केरल में पहली बार "ड्रैगनफ्लाई फेस्टिवल" के लिए हाथ मिला रहा है, जिसका नाम 'थुंबिमहोत्सवम 2020' है।

• प्राइवेट सेक्टर के ICICI बैंक ने एक अनोखी पहल शुरू की है। बैंक अब सैटेलाइट डेटा की मदद से किसानों को कर्ज देने के फैसले लेगा। ICICI बैंक ने कहा है कि वह सैटेलाइट डेटा की मदद से किसानों की ऋण पात्रता का आकलन करेगा और फिर उन्हें लोन देगा। भारत में इस तरह की पहल करने वाला ICICI बैंक पहला बैंक है। वैश्विक स्तर पर भी कुछ ही बैंक किसानों को लोन देने के फैसले लेने के लिए इस तरह की सुविधा का इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं।

• ICICI बैंक ने बयान में कहा कि किसानों की ऋण पात्रता का आकलन करने के लिए बैंक अर्थ ऑब्जर्वेशन सैटेलाइट्स की मदद से सैटेलाइट डेटा इमेजरी का इस्तेमाल करेगा। इस डेटा से भूमि, सिंचाई, फसल पद्धति से जुड़े पैरामीटर्स का आकलन किया जा सकेगा। साथ ही किसानों को लोन देने के फैसले जल्द करने के लिए डेमोग्राफिक व फाइनेंशियल पैरामीटर्स के कॉम्बिनेशन में इस्तेमाल किया जा सकेगा।

एसएलएस के तहत एनबीएफसी, एचएफसी के 8,594 करोड़ रुपये के 24 प्रस्तावों को मंजूरी

• वित्त मंत्रालय ने दबाव वाली गैर-बैंकिंग वित्तीय कंपनियों (एनबीएफसी) और आवास वित्त कंपनियों (एचएफसी) के 8,594 करोड़ रुपये के कर्ज सहायाता के 24 प्रस्तावों को विशेष तरलता योजना के तहत मंजूरी दी गई है। इस योजना की घोषणा 20.97 लाख करोड़ रुपये के ‘आत्मनिर्भर भारत’ पैकेज के तहत की गई थी। इस योजना की शुरुआत एक जुलाई को हुई हैं। इसके तहत प्राथमिक और द्वितीयक दोनों बाजारों में ऋण या बांड की खरीद की अनुमति है। यह योजना एनबीएफसी और एचएफसी के लघु अवधि की नकदी की जरूरतों को पूरा करने के बारे में है।

• वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने 30,000 करोड़ रुपये की विशेष तरलता योजना (एसएलएस) के क्रियान्वयन की स्थिति का ब्योरा साझा करते हुए शनिवार को ट्वीट किया कि 21 अगस्त तक 8,594 करोड़ रुपये के 24 प्रस्तावों को मंजूरी दी गई है। वहीं 3,684.5 करोड़ रुपये के 17 अन्य प्रस्ताव अभी विचार किया जा रहा है। सीतारमण ने ट्वीट में कहा, ‘‘21 अगस्त तक कुल 3,279 करोड़ रुपये की राशि वितरित की गई है। सात अगस्त, 2020 की तुलना में मंजूर राशि में 2,195 करोड़ रुपये की बढ़ोतरी हुई है, जबकि वितरित की गई राशि में 2,279 करोड़ रुपये की वृद्धि हुई है।

• सितंबर, 2018 में आईएलएंडएफएस समूह की कंपनियों द्वारा एक के बाद एक कई बार भुगतान में चूक किए जाने से एनबीएफसी और एचएफसी दबाव में हैं। सूक्ष्म वित्त संस्थानों सहित आरबीआई कानून, 1934 के तहत पंजीकृत एनबीएफसी (मुख्य निवेश कंपनी के रूप में पंजीकृत को छोड़कर) और राष्ट्रीय आवास बैंक कानून, 1987 के तहत पंजीकृत एचएफसी इस सुविधा के तहत धन जुटा सकती हैं।

40 लाख रुपये के वार्षिक कारोबार के साथ कारोबारियों के लिए कोई जीएसटी नहीं

• महामारी के कारण संघर्ष कर रहे व्यवसायों को एक बड़ी राहत देते हुए, वित्त मंत्रालय ने सोमवार को घोषणा की कि 40 लाख रुपये के सालाना कारोबार वाले माल और सेवा कर (जीएसटी) से छूट दी गई है। पहले जीएसटी छूट की सीमा पहले 20 लाख रुपये थी।

• इसके अलावा, 1.5 करोड़ रुपये तक के टर्नओवर वाले व्यवसाय अब कंपोजिशन स्कीम का विकल्प चुन सकते हैं और केवल एक प्रतिशत कर का भुगतान कर सकते हैं।

• “अब, 40 लाख रुपये तक के सालाना कारोबार वाले कारोबारियों को जीएसटी से छूट है। शुरुआत में, यह सीमा 20 लाख रुपये थी। इसके अलावा, 1.5 करोड़ रुपये तक के टर्नओवर वाले लोग कंपोजिशन स्कीम का विकल्प चुन सकते हैं और केवल 1% कर का भुगतान कर सकते हैं। , “वित्त मंत्रालय के एक ट्वीट ने कहा। कई अन्य महत्वपूर्ण राहतें विभिन्न क्षेत्रों को प्रदान की गई हैं जैसे कि निर्माण जिसमें आवास क्षेत्र को 5 प्रतिशत कर की दर पर रखा गया है।

• भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग (CCI) ने सीमेंस लिमिटेड द्वारा C & S इलेक्ट्रिक लिमिटेड (C & S) के भारतीय परिचालन की शेयर पूंजी के 100% प्रस्तावित अधिग्रहण को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस उद्देश्य के लिए, सीमेंस लिमिटेड ने जनवरी 2020 में C & S के साथ एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

• सीमेंस इंडिया निम्नलिखित क्षेत्रों, अर्थात् बिजली उत्पादन और वितरण, इमारतों के लिए बुद्धिमान बुनियादी ढांचे और दूसरों के बीच ऊर्जा प्रणालियों को वितरित करने पर केंद्रित है।

• इस बात की जानकारी भारत में पुणे स्थित इंटर यूनिवर्सिटी सेंटर फॉर एस्ट्रोनॉमी एंड एस्ट्रोफिजिक्स (IUCAA) ने दी। यूनिवर्सिटी की ओर से जारी बयान में कहा गया कि कि IUCAA वैज्ञानिकों की एक वैश्विक टीम यह बड़ी खोज करने में सफल हुई है जिसमें उन्होंने भारतीय उपग्रह एस्ट्रोसैट की मदद ली।

• कांगो गणराज्य के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति पास्कल लिसौबा का निधन हो गया। 1960 में कांगो के स्वतंत्र देश बनने के बाद वे कृषि मंत्री बने थे।

• कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने डीआरडीओ अध्यक्ष के रूप में रेड्डी के कार्यकाल के विस्तार को अपनी मंजूरी दी है, इसके अवाला वह 26 अगस्त के बाद दो वर्षों के लिए वह रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास विभाग (डीओडीआरडी) के सचिव भी होंगे।

Government launches 'Open API Service' in Aarogya Setu app

• An innovative feature ‘Open API Service’ has been introduced by Aarogya Setu to help the people, businesses and the economy in its efforts to return to normalcy.

• The newly launched service will help the organizations to get the health status of their employees as well as any other Aarogya Setu User without violating their data privacy.

• Aarogya Setu’s Open API Service addresses the fear/risk of C - 19 infections and enables organizations to verify the status of Aarogya Setu and integrate it into its various Work from Home features.

Nabard launches credit guarantee programme for NBFC-MFIs

• The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has launched dedicated debt and credit guarantee product named Structured Finance and Partial Guarantee Programme to NBFC-MFIs to ensure the unhindered flow of credit in rural areas hit by the C-19 pandemic.

• It will provide partial guarantee on pooled loans extended to small and mid-sized microfinance institutions (MFIs). Nabard has signed a pact with Vivriti Capital and Ujjivan Small Finance Bank for this.

India’s longest river ropeway inaugurated in Assam

• The longest river ropeway of India has been inaugurated in Assam. The ropeway is 1.8 Km long and connects Guwahati and North Guwahati over Brahmaputra river.

• The ropeway will be operated from Kachari Ghat in Guwahati to Dol Govinda temple in North Guwahati. The ropeway will allow passengers to witness the beautiful landscapes of Guwahati city, river Brahmaputra, and the Umananda Temple.

• It has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 56 crore and has as many as 58 CCTV cameras installed for round-the-clock monitoring of the ropeway service.

India to have its own vaccine portal soon: ICMR

• The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has announced that India will soon have its own dedicated vaccine portal. The portal is under development and will serve as a repository of data related to the vaccine development in the country.

• The portal will be launched by next week by the medical research body ICMR.

India and AIIB sign agreement for $500 million for Mumbai Urban Transport Project-III

• Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has signed a loan agreement (with Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra and Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation) for a $500 million Mumbai Urban Transport Project-III.

• The aim is to improve the network capacity, service quality and safety of the suburban railway system in Mumbai.

• With a population of 22.8 million (2011), Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) is the most populous metropolitan region in India and is expected to reach 29.3 million by 2031 and 32.1 million by 2041.

• Union Minister, Jitendra Singh has released a book on cancer named “Gastric Cancer” edited by Dr Ashok K. Vaid. Ashok K. Vaid is a Noted Oncologist and was awarded Padma Shri in 2009 for his outstanding work in the field of medicine.

• The book was launched during a special session organized during the 3-day virtual conference on Oncology. The book is published by Springer Healthcare Education.

सरकार ने आरोग्य सेतु ऐप में 'ओपन एपीआई सेवा' शुरू की

• आरोग्य सेतु द्वारा एक नयी सुविधा ‘Open API Service’ शुरू की गई है ताकि लोगों, व्यवसायों और अर्थव्यवस्था को सामान्य स्थिति में लौटने के प्रयासों में मदद मिल सके।

• नई लॉन्च की गई सेवा, संगठनों को अपने कर्मचारियों के डेटा गोपनीयता का उल्लंघन किए बिना उनके स्वास्थ्य स्थिति के साथ-साथ किसी अन्य आरोग्य सेतु उपयोगकर्ता के बारे में जानने में मदद मिलेगी।

• आरोग्य सेतु की ओपन एपीआई सेवा C-19 संक्रमण के डर / जोखिम को संबोधित करती है और संगठनों को आरोग्य सेतु की स्थिति को सत्यापित करने और इसे होम सुविधाओं से अपने विभिन्न कार्यों में एकीकृत करने में सक्षम बनाती है।

एनबीएफसी-एमएफआई के लिए नाबार्ड ने ऋण गारंटी कार्यक्रम शुरू किया

• नेशनल बैंक फॉर एग्रीकल्चर एंड रूरल डेवलपमेंट (नाबार्ड) ने महामारी की चपेट में आए ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में ऋण के प्रवाह को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एनबीएफसी-एमएफआई को संरचित वित्त और आंशिक गारंटी कार्यक्रम नामक समर्पित ऋण और ऋण गारंटी उत्पाद लॉन्च किया है।

• असम में भारत के सबसे लंबे नदी रोपवे का उद्घाटन किया गया है।

भारत में जल्द ही अपना वैक्सीन पोर्टल होगा: ICMR

• भारतीय चिकित्सा अनुसंधान परिषद (ICMR) ने घोषणा की है कि भारत में जल्द ही अपना समर्पित वैक्सीन पोर्टल होगा। पोर्टल विकास के अधीन है और देश में वैक्सीन विकास से संबंधित आंकड़ों के भंडार के रूप में काम करेगा।

• चिकित्सा अनुसंधान निकाय ICMR द्वारा अगले सप्ताह तक पोर्टल लॉन्च किया जाएगा।

भारत सरकार और AIIB ने 500 मिलियन डॉलर की मुंबई शहरी परिवहन परियोजना- III के ऋण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए

• भारत सरकार, महाराष्ट्र सरकार, मुंबई रेलवे विकास निगम और एशियन इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर इन्वेस्टमेंट बैंक (AIIB) ने मुंबई में उपनगरीय रेलवे प्रणाली की नेटवर्क क्षमता, सेवा गुणवत्ता और सुरक्षा में सुधार के लिए आज 500 मिलियन डॉलर की मुंबई शहरी परिवहन परियोजना- III के ऋण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

• इस परियोजना से नेटवर्क क्षमता में वृद्धि होने के साथ ही यात्रियों के यात्रा समय और जानलेवा दुर्घटनाओं में कमी आने की उम्मीद है। अनुमान है कि परियोजना के प्राथमिक लाभार्थियों में 22% महिला यात्री हैं जो बेहतर सुरक्षा और सेवा की गुणवत्ता से लाभान्वित होंगी।

• मुंबई महानगर क्षेत्र (एमएमआर) 22.8 मिलियन (2011) की आबादी के साथ, भारत का सबसे अधिक आबादी वाला महानगरीय क्षेत्र है और 2031 तक यहां की आबादी के 29.3 मिलियन और 2041 तक 32.1 मिलियन तक पहुंचने की उम्मीद है। यह जनसंख्या वृद्धि मुंबई के शहरी विस्तार की मुख्‍य संचालक है, जो महाराष्ट्र राज्य को शहरी और बुनियादी ढांचे को मजबूत बनाने की योजना को प्राथमिकता देने के लिए मजबूर करता है जो आर्थिक गतिविधियों, गतिशीलता के साथ-साथ पर्यावरण और सामाजिक परिणामों के अनुकूलन को संतुलित करती है।

Nitin Gadkari launches mobile app ‘Harit Path’ to monitor plantation along national highways

• The Union Minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari has launched a mobile app called ‘Harit Path’ on 21 August 2020, via video conference while chairing a meeting to review ‘New Green Highways Policy (Plantation)’ and discuss use of new technologies in road construction.

• The app ‘Harit Path’ has been developed by the National Highways authority of India (NHAI) to monitor the plantation and transplantation of trees along the highways, through geo-tagging and web-based GIS enabled monitoring tools.

Population Projects India’s Population to be More Feminine by 2036

• The National Commission on Population under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) submitted the Report of the Technical group on population projections July 2020, titled “Population projections for India and States 2011- 2036”.

• The report projected that the India’s sex ratio of the total population (females per 1000 males) is expected to be more feminine in 2036 compared to the population as of 2011.

• Youth population (15-24 years) is expected to increase from 23.3 crores in 2011 to 25.2 crores in 2021 and then continue to decrease to 22.7 crores in 2036.

Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan Launches Online Registration and Renewal of Gold Hallmarking Centres

• Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan virtually launched an online system for registration and renewal of licence of gold assaying and hallmarking (A&H) centres. The online system can be accessed through the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) web portal – www.manakonline.in.

• The online mode of registration & renewal will help in ease of doing business for the jewellers and entrepreneurs who have established hallmarking centres or want to do so in future.

• Wing Commander Gajanand Yadava has won the ‘Tenzing Norgey National Adventure Award 2019' in air adventure category. The Indian Air Force congratulated Yadava for the special award through a post on Twitter.

• Gajanand Yadava is a Parachute Jump Instructor. He is also a member of IAF's Skydiving Team `Akash Ganga`. He has undertaken more than 2900 jumps till date, stated the Indian Air Force in its post.

General insurance companies ICICI Lombard and Bharti AXA announces merger

• ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company and Bharti AXA General Insurance Company have announced the merger of their businesses.

• The merger would result in an entity with a combined annual premium of Rs 16,447 crore and a market share of nearly 8.7%.

• After the merger, ICICI Lombard will become the third-largest non-life insurer in India.

• India ranks among the lowest in the world in terms of Internet quality, according to a global research released by online privacy solutions provider SurfShark.

• In a global index on digital quality of life in 85 countries, India ranked 9th on the internet affordability indicator, and 15th on e-government.

नितिन गडकरी ने राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों पर वृक्षारोपण की निगरानी के लिए मोबाइल ऐप 'हरित पथ' लॉन्च किया

• केंद्रीय मंत्री नितिन गडकरी (Nitin Gadkari) ने सड़क निर्माण की लागत को कम से कम 25 प्रतिशत कम करने तथा राजमार्ग निर्माण में आधुनिक और हरित प्रौद्योगिकियों के उपयोग की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया है। गडकरी ने राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों के किनारे वृक्षारोपण की निगरानी के लिए शुक्रवार को एक मोबाइल ऐप 'हरित पथ' लॉन्च किया। सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा कि गडकरी ने वीडियो कांफ्रेंस के माध्यम से ‘नई हरित राजमार्ग नीति (पौधारोपण)’ की समीक्षा की। उन्होंने सड़क निर्माण में नई प्रौद्योगिकियों के इस्तेमाल पर चर्चा की। उन्होंने कहा कि सड़क निर्माण की लागत में 25 प्रतिशत की कमी लाना मंत्रालय का लक्ष्य होना चाहिए।

• गडकरी ने जिओ-टैगिंग और वेब आधारित जीआईएस सक्षम निगरानी उपकरणों के माध्यम से वृक्षारोपण की निगरानी के लिए एक मोबाइल ऐप 'हरित पथ' लॉन्च किया। इस ऐप को एनएचएआई ने सभी वृक्षारोपण योजनाओं के तहत रोपे गए प्रत्येक पेड़ के स्थान, वृद्धि, प्रजातियों के विवरण, रखरखाव गतिविधियों, लक्ष्यों और उपलब्धियों की निगरानी के लिए विकसित किया है।

जनसंख्या परियोजनाएं: भारत की जनसंख्या 2036 तक अधिक स्त्रैण होगी

• स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय (MoHFW) के तहत जनसंख्या पर राष्ट्रीय आयोग ने जुलाई 2020 में जनसंख्या अनुमानों पर तकनीकी समूह की रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की, जिसका शीर्षक "भारत और राज्यों के लिए जनसंख्या अनुमान 2011- 2036" है।

• रिपोर्ट में अनुमान लगाया गया है कि 2011 की जनसंख्या की तुलना में 2036 में भारत की कुल जनसंख्या (प्रति 1000 पुरुषों पर महिला) का लिंग अनुपात अधिक स्त्रैण होने की उम्मीद है।

• युवाओं की आबादी (15-24 वर्ष) 2011 में 23.3 करोड़ से बढ़कर 2021 में 25.2 करोड़ हो गई और फिर 2036 में घटकर 22.7 करोड़ रह जाएगी।

केंद्रीय मंत्री रामविलास पासवान ने ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण और गोल्ड हॉलमार्किंग केंद्रों का नवीनीकरण किया

• केंद्रीय उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री राम विलास पासवान ने वस्तुतः सोने की परख और हॉलमार्किंग (ए एंड एच) केंद्रों के लाइसेंस के पंजीकरण और नवीनीकरण के लिए एक ऑनलाइन प्रणाली शुरू की। ऑनलाइन प्रणाली को भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (बीआईएस) वेब पोर्टल - www.manakonline.in के माध्यम से एक्सेस किया जा सकता है।

• पंजीकरण और नवीनीकरण के ऑनलाइन मोड से उन ज्वैलर्स और उद्यमियों के लिए व्यवसाय करने में आसानी होगी, जिन्होंने हॉलमार्किंग केंद्र स्थापित किए हैं या भविष्य में ऐसा करना चाहते हैं।

एक्सिस बैंक ने एक हजार लोगों को नौकरी देने के लिये शुरू की ‘गिग-अ-ऑपरच्यूनिटी’ मुहिम:

• निजी क्षेत्र के एक्सिस बैंक ने अगले एक साल में एक हजार तक लोगों को रोजगार देने के लिये 'गिग-अ-ऑपरच्यूनिटीज' पहल की शुरुआत की है। इस मॉडल के तहत कोई भी प्रतिभावान उम्मीदवार देश के किसी भी हिस्से से बैंक के साथ काम कर सकता है। बैंक के एक अधिकारी ने इसकी जानकारी दी। इस मॉडल में काम करने के दो तरीके होंगे- पहला पूर्णकालिक स्थायी नौकरी और दूसरा परियोजना के आधार पर खास अवधि तक सीमित।

• एक्सिस बैंक के कार्यकारी निदेशक (कॉरपोरेट केंद्र) राजेश दाहिया ने पीटीआई-भाषा से कहा, ‘‘हमारा विचार है कि गिग बड़ी (नियमित) नौकरियां होंगी। हम इसे एक सामान्य नौकरी की तरह प्रभावी बनाना चाहते हैं। अगले एक साल में, हम इस मॉडल के माध्यम से काम करने वाले 800-1,000 लोगों को जोड़ेंगे और यह मैं न्यूनतम कह रहा हूं।’’ उन्होंने कहा, इससे पहले मानसिकता यह थी कि काम करने के लिये आपको कार्यालय आना होगा, लेकिन अब घर से काम की अवधारणा ने कई चीजें बदल दी हैं। दहिया ने कहा कि लोग घर से काम करने को लेकर पहले हिचकिचाते थे, लेकिन अब उन्हें इसकी आदत पड़ गयी है और यह बहुत ही उपयोगी साबित हो रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि बैंक देश भर के युवाओं, अनुभवी मध्यम स्तर के पेशेवरों और महिलाओं सहित अच्छी प्रतिभाओं की तलाश करेगा।

एयर एडवेंचर श्रेणी में विंग कमांडर गजानंद यादव को ‘तेनजिंग नोर्गे नेशनल एडवेंचर अवार्ड 2019’ के लिए चुना गया

• भारतीय वायु सेना (IAF) ने विंग कमांडर गजानंद यादव को “तेनजिंग नोर्गे राष्ट्रीय साहसिक पुरस्कार 2019” के लिए चुने जाने के बाद बधाई दी। विंग कमांडर गजानंद यादव को “वायु साहसिक” श्रेणी में प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया जाएगा। IAF अधिकारी पैराशूट जंप प्रशिक्षक और वायु सेना की स्काइडाइविंग टीम ‘आकाश गंगा’ के सदस्य हैं। उन्होंने अब तक 2900 से अधिक छलांग लगाई हैं।

• पिछले साल विंग कमांडर यादव ने विंगसूट स्काईडाइव जंप के क्षेत्र में चार राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार बनाए। उन्होंने भारत में हाई-स्पीड एयरक्राफ्ट (एएन -32) से पहली बार विंगसूट स्काईडाइव जंप किया। यह 24400 फीट की ऊँचाई से उच्चतम विंगसूट कूद था। भारतीय वायुसेना अधिकारी ने 8000 फीट से नाइट विंगसूट जंप भी किया था। यादव 12000 फीट से ऊँचाई की नाइट विंगसूट कूद करने वाले भारत के एकमात्र जम्पर बन गए, जो 3000 फीट करने के बाद उद्घाटन करते हैं। विंगसूट ने 9000 फीट तक उड़ान भरी।

UAE connects first Arab nuclear plant to power grid

• The oil-rich United Arab Emirates announced that it has connected its Barakah nuclear power plant to the national grid in a first for the Arab world.

• The milestone follows the successful start-up of the plant’s first reactor at the end of last month and launches the UAE on the road to meeting 25% of its electricity needs from nuclear power.

Iran announces locally made ballistic and cruise missiles

• Iran displayed a surface-to-surface ballistic missile named martyr Qassem Soleimani, that Defence Minister Amir Hatami said had a range of 1,400 kilometres and a new cruise missile, ignoring U.S. demands that Tehran halt its missile programme.

• The missile has a range of 1,400 km and the cruise missile, called martyr Abu Mahdi, has a range of over 1,000 km.

RBI Releases NSFE 2020-25, Suggests Action Plan to Promote Financial Education

• The ‘National Strategy for Financial Education 2020-2025’ (NSFE), released by the RBI, has suggested a multi-stakeholder-led approach for creating a financially aware and empowered India.

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) came out with a ‘5-Core Actions’ approach for promoting financial education, which among other things include development of relevant content for school children and adults, community participation and collaboration among various stakeholders.

• The five Cs, outlined by the strategy paper, are: Content, Capacity, Community, Communication and Collaboration.

• Strengthening financial inclusion in the country has been one of the important developmental agendas of both the Government of India and the four financial sector regulators (RBI, SEBI, IRDAI and PFRDA).

World Bank sees higher GDP fall in India than 3.2% it projected for FY21

• The World Bank said it was likely to project a steeper contraction in India’s economy than the 3.2 per cent it had forecast for the current financial year, given the rising number of C-19-19 cases and the resultant regional C-19s.

• In its report on India Development Update, 2020, the Bank also warned that credit risks play out as firms and households find it more difficult to service their interest and repayment obligations in a slowing economy.

• The Union Minister of State for Tourism (IC), Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was virtually signed today by the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) with the Ministry of Tourism for women empowerment.

• The MoU provision will create awareness, along with state tourism departments and state tourism corporations and gives an opportunity to increase participation of women in the tourism sector.

• NIPL will venture into newer international markets and co-create payment systems with participating nations.

• Former Cricketer, Administrator and Pitch Curator, Gopala swamy Iyenger Kasturirangan passed away.

• He began his career in the 1948-49 season representing Mysore in the Ranji Trophy and retired from first-class cricket after the 1962-63 season.

• Kasturirangan was also the former BCCI Curator and Vice President of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).

Rajiv Kumar appointed as new Election Commissioner

• Former finance secretary Rajiv Kumar has been appointed new election commissioner. He will replace Ashok Lavasa, who resigned earlier this week. Mr Kumar will take charge the day Mr Lavasa leaves his office on August 31.

• Rajiv Kumar is a 1984-batch IAS officer from Jharkhand cadre. He was designated as finance secretary in July 2019 and during his tenure he played a major role in merging 10 public sector banks into four. He has also served as establishment officer (EO) in the personnel ministry.

Equatorial Guinea Re-elects Francisco Asue as PM of the country

• Francisco Asue has been reappointed as Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea.

• This is Asue’s third consecutive term as PM. He was first appointed as PM of Equatorial Guinea in 2016.

• श्रम और रोजगार राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) संतोष कुमार गंगवार ने "श्रम ब्यूरो" के आधिकारिक लोगो का अनावरण किया है। यह लोगो श्रम ब्यूरो के उन तीन लक्ष्यों यानी सटीकता, वैधता और विश्वसनीयता का भी प्रतिनिधित्व करता है जिसके लिए ब्यूरो प्रयासरत रहता है ताकि गुणवत्ता वाले डेटा कासंग्रहण किया जा सके।साथ ही यह भी दर्शाता है कि श्रम ब्यूरो एक डेटा आधारित संगठन है जो श्रमिकों और काम से संबंधित डेटा पर काम करता है।

• नेशनल पेमेंट्स कॉरपोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (NPCI) ने NPCI इंटरनेशनल पेमेंट्स लिमिटेड (NIPL) नाम से अपनी पूर्ण स्वामित्व वाली सहायक कंपनी लॉन्च की है।

• रितेश शुक्ला को एनआईपीएल के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

• एनआईपीएल नए अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारों में भाग लेगा और भागीदार देशों के साथ भुगतान प्रणाली का निर्माण करेगा।

राजस्थान सरकार ने इंदिरा रसोई योजना की शुरुआत की

• राजस्थान सरकार ने आठ रुपये में भोजन की थाली उपलब्ध कराने की अपनी महत्वाकांक्षी इंदिरा रसोई योजना की गुरुवार से शुरुआत की। योजना पर सालाना 100 करोड़ रुपये का खर्च आने का अनुमान है।

• मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के जरिए इस योजना की शुरुआत की। उन्होंने कहा कि इंदिरा रसोई योजना प्रदेश की एक ऐसी अनूठी योजना है जिसमें शहरी गरीब परिवारों को पौष्टिक भोजन रियायती दर पर मिलेगा।

• मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि ' इस योजना का मुख्य ध्येय यह है कि प्रदेश में कोई भी व्यक्ति भूखा न सोए व योजना का लाभ प्रदेश के अंतिम व्यक्ति तक पहुंचे और उसे सस्ती दरों पर भोजन उपलब्ध हो सके।'

Tribal Affairs Minister launches “Trifood Project” of TRIFED

• The tertiary processing centres of “Trifood Project” of TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs has been virtually launched by the Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda.

• The Trifood project has been launched in Raigad, Maharashtra and Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. This project is expected to help in encouraging the tribal entrepreneurship.

• Two Minor Forest Produce (MFP) processing units will be set up in order to achieve the targets of the “Trifood Project”.

First rockets produced by private sector successfully test fired

• The Indian Army successfully test-fired the first ever privately manufactured Pinaka rockets recently from the firing range in Pokharan, which achieved the desired results by accurately hitting targets.

• The rockets have been manufactured by Economic Explosives Ltd (EEL) and are the first ammunition of its kind made by the private sector in India.

• Six Pinaka rockets were test fired as part of the final developmental trials.

• This development will enable Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to do away with its single source dependency on Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) for the rockets and also boost Make in India initiative.

Apple Becomes First U.S. Company to reach $2 Trillion Market Cap

• Apple Inc. has become the first publicly traded U.S. company to reach a market capitalization of over $2 trillion, after its share price climbed above $467.77 on 19 August 2020.

• Apple is also the world’s only second company to hit $2 trillion in market cap.Before this, Oil Major Saudi Aramco was the world’s first and only publicly listed company to reach a $2 trillion market value in December 2019.

• Apple was also the first publicly traded U.S. company to reach a $1 trillion market cap.

India, Japan and Australia to launch Supply Chain Resilience Initiative to counter China

• India, Australia, and Japan have started the discussions for the launch of a trilateral Supply Chain Resilience Initiative (SCRI) in order to reduce the dependency on China. The initiative which was first proposed by Japan might be executed.

• The officials have been working on the dates to hold the first meeting of the commerce and trade ministers of the three countries. Earlier, Japan through its Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry had approached India and had pressed on the urgency of taking the initiative forward.

• In the light of China’s aggressive moves in the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, the Indian government has decided to consider the proposal quite seriously. As per the sources, Tokyo was in favour of launching SCRI by November 2020.

Google launches ‘Kormo’ app in India to help people find jobs

• Google has launched its employment application named ‘Kormo Jobs’ in India. It would help millions of Indians to get entry-level jobs. Kormo Jobs will help to provide entry-level jobs to thousands of people, to help those who have lost their jobs during the pandemic and young professionals who are looking for jobs.

• Google had first launched the employment application in Bangladesh in 2018 and further expanded it to Indonesia in 2019.In 2019, Google had also tested this app in India but under the brand ‘Spot’ on Google Pay app, which saw more than 2 million verified jobs posted on the platform, including from companies like Zomato and Dunzo.

Swachh Survekshan 2020: Indore ranked 1st as cleanest city

• Indore city of Madhya Pradesh has been ranked as the cleanest city of India under the Swachh Survekshan 2020. It has won the Cleanest city tag for the fourth consecutive year.

• 2020 Swachh Survekshan is the 5th edition of the annual exercise and covered 4,242 cities.The results were announced on 20 August by the Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoUHA), Hardeep Singh Puri.

• Surat (Gujarat) and Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) are the second and third most cleanest city, respectively in the ranking.

India ranked 1st in number of organic farmers, Sikkim 1st state to be fully organic

• India has been ranked first in the number of organic farmers and ninth in terms of area under organic farming.

• Sikkim has become the first state in the world to become fully organic. Other states including Uttarakhand and Tripura have also set similar sustainability targets.

• North-east India has traditionally been organic and the consumption of chemicals is far less than the rest of the country. The tribal and island territories are also being encouraged to take forward their organic methods.

• The World Senior Citizen Day is observed globally on 21st August every year. This day is celebrated to raise awareness about issues affecting older people, such as deterioration with age and the abuse of the elderly and support, honour and show appreciation to seniors and to recognize their achievements.

• The Day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 14, 1990.

• The World Senior Citizen’s Day also recognises and acknowledges the contributions of older people to society.

International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism

• The International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism is a UN recognised day observed on August 21 to pay tribute to the individuals across the globe who have been attacked, injured, traumatized or lost their lives because of terrorist attacks.

• The day was designated by United Nations General Assembly in 2017 and first time the day was observed in 2018.

• दिग्गज टेक कंपनी एप्पल (Apple) का मार्केट कैप 2 ट्रिलियन डॉलर पहुंच गया है। यह मुकाम हासिल करने वाली वह अमेरिका की पहली कंपनी है। कंपनी ने दो साल पहले ही 1 ट्रिलियन डॉलर का मार्केट कैप हासिल किया था। नैसडैक पर बुधवार के सुबह कारोबार के दौरान एप्पल का शेयर 467.77 डॉलर पर पहुंच गया और इसके साथ ही कंपनी का मार्केट कैप 2 ट्रिलियन डॉलर पहुंच गया। आईफोन बनाने वाली यह कंपनी 12 दिसंबर 1980 को पब्लिक हुई थी और उसके बाद से कंपनी का शेयर 76,000 परसेंट चढ़ चुका है।

• एप्पल की स्थापना दिवंगत स्टीव जॉब्स ने 1976 में पर्सनल कम्प्यूटर्स की बिक्री के लिए किया था और अब इसने 2 ट्रिलियन डॉलर का मार्केट कैप हासिल कर लिया। यह राशि अमेरिका के पिछले साल के कर संग्रह की आधी राशि से थोड़ा अधिक है।

• एप्पल ने दो साल पहले 1 ट्रिलियन डॉलर का मार्केट कैप हासिल किया था। यूएस स्टील ने 1901 में 1 बिलियन डॉलर का मार्केट कैप हासिल किया था।

• भारत, ऑस्ट्रेलिया और जापान ने चीन पर निर्भरता को कम करने के लिए एक त्रिपक्षीय आपूर्ति श्रृंखला लचीलापन पहल (SCRI) के शुभारंभ के लिए विचार-विमर्श शुरू किया है। जो पहल जापान द्वारा पहली बार प्रस्तावित की गई थी, उसे अंजाम दिया जा सकता है।

• Google ने भारत में Google कोरमो जॉब्स ’नाम से अपना रोजगार एप्लिकेशन लॉन्च किया है। यह लाखों भारतीयों को प्रवेश स्तर की नौकरियों को प्राप्त करने में मदद करेगा। कोरमो जॉब्स उन हजारों लोगों को एंट्री-लेवल जॉब देने में मदद करेंगे, जो जॉब की तलाश में हैं जिनकी महामारी के कारण नौकरी से हाथ धोना पड़ा है।

इंदौर ने पाया स्‍वच्‍छता सर्वेक्षण 2020 में पहला स्‍थान

• मध्य प्रदेश के इंदौर शहर को स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण 2020 के तहत भारत के सबसे स्वच्छ शहर का दर्जा दिया गया है। इसने लगातार चौथे साल सबसे स्वच्छ शहर का खिताब जीता है।

• 2020 स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण वार्षिक अभ्यास का 5 वां संस्करण है और इसमें 4,242 शहर शामिल हैं। परिणाम 20 अगस्त को केंद्रीय आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्री (MoUHA), हरदीप सिंह पुरी द्वारा घोषित किए गए थे।

• सूरत (गुजरात) और नवी मुंबई (महाराष्ट्र) रैंकिंग में क्रमशः दूसरे और तीसरे सबसे साफ शहर हैं।

भारत जैविक किसानों के मामले में विश्‍व में नम्बर वन

• भारत को जैविक किसानों की संख्या में पहले स्थान पर रखा गया है और जैविक खेती के मामले में नौवें स्‍थान पर रखा गया है।

• सिक्किम पूरी तरह से जैविक बनने वाला दुनिया का पहला राज्य बन गया है। उत्तराखंड और त्रिपुरा सहित अन्य राज्यों ने भी समान स्थिरता के लक्ष्य निर्धारित किए हैं।

Cabinet approves setting up of National Recruitment Agency

• The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal to set up a National Recruitment Agency (NRA).

• NRA will be the nodal agency to conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for jobs in the government and state-owned banks. NRA will comprise of representatives of Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Finance/Department of Financial Services, the SSC, RRB as well as IBPS.

• NRA is expected to be a specialist body which will offer the state-of-the-art technology and best practices to the field of Central Government recruitment. A sum of Rs. 1517.57 crore has been sanctioned by the Government of India for the National Recruitment Agency (NRA).

• The NRA will hold online exams every year for non-gazetted government posts and each district will have at least one exam centre. The score in these exams would be valid for three years and the candidate would have the option of taking the exam again to improve the score. The best of the three scores would be used during the selection process.

• Fino Payments Bank has launched Jan BachatKhata (JBK), which is an Aadhaar Authentication based digital savings account that brings neo-banking experience to consumers.

• Under the JBK, customers can transact at a Fino branch or merchant point with fingerprint and OTP combination, while at non-Fino points they need Aadhaar authentication.

• Earlier, Fino Payments Bank had introduced Shubh and Bhavishya, subscription-based savings accounts targeted at specific customer segments.

• Neo bank means– A bank without any branches. A bank that is entirely online rather than being physical. Neo banking provides complete digital banking experience through mobile applications.

Reliance Retail acquires majority stake in online pharmacy Netmeds for Rs 620 crore

• Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL), the subsidiary company of Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has acquired a majority equity stake in online pharmacy Vitalic Health Pvt Ltd and its subsidiaries (commonly known as Netmeds) for a cash consideration of around Rs 620 crore ($83.08 million).

• The announcement regarding this was made by the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). Reliance Retail Director Isha Ambani stated that the deal is in line with the commitment to provide digital access to all in the country.

• Chennai-based Netmeds is a licensed e-pharma portal, incorporated in 2015, that offers authenticated prescription and over the counter (OTC) medicine along with other health products in India.

Computer Scientist Russell A. Kirsch, who Invented Pixel, passes away

• Computer scientist Russell A. Kirsch, the inventor of the pixel, and developer of the first digital photograph. has passed away. He was 91 years old.

• His pioneering contributions to computer science made digital imaging possible.

• He created a small, 2-by-2-inch black-and-white digital image of his son, which was among the first images ever scanned into a computer. Pixels are the digital dots that are used to display photos, video and more on phone as well as computer screens.

केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने सरकारी नौकरियों के लिये राष्ट्रीय भर्ती एजेंसी के गठन को मंजूरी दी

• केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने सरकारी नौकरियों के लिये साझा पात्रता परीक्षा आयोजित करने के वास्ते राष्ट्रीय भर्ती एजेंसी के गठन के प्रस्ताव को बुधवार को मंजूरी दे दी।केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने यह जानकारी दी। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में हुई केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल की बैठक में यह निर्णय किया गया। बैठक के बाद सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्री जावड़ेकर ने संवाददाताओं को बताया ‘‘युवाओं को फिलहाल नौकरी के लिये कई अलग अलग परीक्षाएं देनी पड़ती हैं।

• ऐसी परीक्षाओं के लिये अभी लगभग 20 भर्ती एजेंसियां हैं और परीक्षा देने के लिए अभ्यर्थियों को दूसरे स्थानों पर भी जाना पड़ता है।’’ उन्होंने कहा कि इस संबंध में परेशानियां दूर करने की मांग काफी समय से की जा रही थी। इसे देखते हुए मंत्रिमंडल ने साझा पात्रता परीक्षा लेने के लिये ‘राष्ट्रीय भर्ती एजेंसी’ के गठन का निर्णय किया है। जावड़ेकर ने कहा कि इससे अभ्यर्थियों को नौकरियों के लिए एक साझा परीक्षा देने की सहूलियत मिलेगी और उनका समय और पैसा बचेगा।

• केंद्रीय मंत्री जितेन्द्र सिंह ने इस निर्णय को ऐतिहासिक बताया और कहा कि प्रारंभ में तीन एजेंसियों की परीक्षाएं राष्ट्रीय भर्ती एजेंसी के दायरे में आयेंगी लेकिन बाद में अन्य एजेंसियों को भी इसके दायरे में लाया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के अभ्यर्थियों, महिलाओं, दिव्यांगों को विभिन्न नौकरियों के लिये परीक्षा देने के लिए लम्बी दूरी तय करने की परेशानी से मुक्ति मिलेगी। एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि शुरू में इसके दायरे में रेलवे भर्ती परीक्षा, बैंकों की भ*र्ती परीक्षा और कर्मचारी चयन आयोग (एसएससी) आयेंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि इस परीक्षा में हासिल अंक तीन साल तक मान्य होंगे। परीक्षा आयोजित करने के लिये हर जिले में कम से कम एक परीक्षा केंद्र स्थापित किया जायेगा। राष्ट्रीय भर्ती एजेंसी (एनआरए) ग्रुप बी और ग्रुप सी (गैर तकनीकी) पदों के लिये साझा पात्रता परीक्षा के जरिये उम्मीदवारों की छंटनी (स्क्रिनिंग) करेगी। एनआरए एक सोसाइटी होगी जिसके एक अध्यक्ष होंगे और सरकार में सचिव स्तर के होंगे।

• रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड, कर्मचारी चयन आयोग और इंस्टीट्यूट आफ बैकिंग पर्सनल सेलेक्शन (आईबीपीएस) के प्रतिनिधि इसके संचालक मंडल में शामिल होंगे। आधिकारिक बयान के अनुसार, एनआरए अत्याधुनिक प्रौद्योगिकी से युक्त एक विशेषज्ञ निकाय होगा। बहरहाल, सिंह ने बताया कि आने वाले समय में इस परीक्षा में शामिल होने वाले अभ्यार्थियों को प्रदान सीईटी स्कोर को केंद्र सरकार, राज्य सरकार, केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों, सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उद्यम, निजी क्षेत्र की अन्य भर्ती एजेंसियों के साथ साझा किया जा सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे लागत कम करने के साथ भर्ती में लगने वाले समय को भी बचाया जा सकता है।

• सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय भर्ती एजेंसी के गठन के लिये 1,517.57 करोड़ रूपये मंजूर किये हैं और इसका मुख्यालय दिल्ली में होगा। एनआरए स्थापित करने के अलावा देश के 117 आकांक्षी जिलों में परीक्षा केंद्र भी स्थापित किए जाएंगे। केंद्रीय मंत्री जितेन्द्र सिंह ने कहा कि प्रारंभिक योजना देशभर में 1000 परीक्षा केंद्र स्थापित करने की है।

India’s GDP to contract 16.5 per cent in April-June quarter

• State Bank of India’s research report Ecowrap expects the country’s GDP to contract by 16.5 per cent during the first quarter of the current fiscal.

• Earlier in May, Ecowrap had estimated Q1 FY21 GDP contraction at over 20 per cent and now pegs it at much lower contraction of 16.5 per cent for the quarter.

RBI releases framework for authorisation of pan-India Umbrella Entity for Retail Payments

• Reserve Bank of India has released the ‘framework for authorization of pan-India Umbrella Entity for Retail Payments’ in India.

• This means that RBI has allowed companies/entities to apply to RBI to set-up pan-India umbrella entity/entities focussing on retail payment systems in India. After receiving approval from RBI, the entity may start functioning as an Umbrella Entity for Retail Payments in India just like NPCI.

• Presently NPCI is the only Umbrella Entity for Retail Payments in India.

Dream 11 wins title sponsorship rights of IPL 2020

• The title sponsorship rights of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has been bagged by the fantasy gaming start-up “Dream 11“. The fantasy gaming start-up has bagged the title sponsorship rights for Rs 222 crore.

Satya Pal Malik appointed as Governor of Meghalaya

• Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Goa, has been appointed as the Meghalaya Governor, succeeding Tathagata Roy. Roy completed his 5-year tenure by serving as Tripura Governor for 3 years and the Governor of Meghalaya for the remaining two years.

• Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has been asked to perform duties of Goa Governor for the time being.

SEBI appoints G P Garg as Executive Director

• The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said it has appointed G P Garg as executive director (ED).

• Prior to his promotion as ED, Garg was Chief General Manager in Sebi and has handled several assignments since joining in January 1994.

IIT Madras Tops Atal Rankings (ARIIA) 2020

• The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has retained the top position in the ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements,’ (ARIIA) 2020 for being the best centrally funded institution in India.

• The premier institute has topped in the list of top centrally funded innovative educational institutes in India for the second consecutive year.IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IISc Bengaluru and IIT Kharagpur are the among the top five centrally funded institutions in the list respectively.

• The ARIIA ranking was launched in 2019 by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education. The objective of ARIIA is to rank higher education institutions and universities in India as per Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Startup, and Development amongst faculty and students.

जीडीपी में आ सकती है 16.5 प्रतिशत की गिरावट: एसबीआई रिपोर्ट

• चालू वित्त वर्ष की पहली तिमाही में जीडीपी में 16.5 प्रतिशत की गिरावट की आशंका।

• कॉरपोरेट जीवीए वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 में आय में गिरावट के मुकाबले बेहतर रहा है।

• अब तक करीब 1,000 सूचीबद्ध इकाइयों ने पहली तिमाही के वित्तीय परिणाम की घोषणा की है।

• भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) के अर्थशास्त्रियों ने चालू वित्त वर्ष की पहली तिमाही में देश के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) में 16.5 प्रतिशत की गिरावट की आशंका जताई है। इससे पहले, मई में एसबीआई रिपोर्ट में चालू वित्त वर्ष की पहली तिमाही में जीडीपी में 20 प्रतिशत से अधिक की गिरावट की आशंका जताई गई थी। हालांकि वर्तमान अनिश्चित परिदृश्य में कुछ शर्तों के साथ अब इसमें 16.5 प्रतिशत की गिरावट का अनुमान जताया गया है।

खुदरा भुगतान प्रणालियों के परिचालन के नियम जारी, आरबीआई ने आवेदन आमंत्रित किये

• रिजर्व बैंक ने मंगलवार को अखिल भारतीय स्तर पर खुदरा भुगतान प्रणालियों के संचालन के लिये छत्र-इकाई स्थापित/ परिचालित करने के नियम जारी किए और काम शुरू करने की इच्छुक कंपनियों से 26 फरवरी 2021 तक आवेदन आमंत्रित किये हैं। छत्र इकाई अपने नाम के तहत खुदारा बाजार में विभिन्न प्रणालियों की स्थापना, प्रबंध और परिचालन कर सकेगी।

• रिजर्व बैंक की रूपरेखा के अनुसार राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर इस प्रकार की खुदरा भुगतान प्रणाली का संचालन करने के लिये आवेदन करने वाली कंपनी की नेटवर्थ 500 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक होनी चाहिये। ऐसी कंपनी को खुदरा भुगतान के क्षेत्र में एटीएम, खुदरा बिक्री केन्द्रों, आधार आधारित भुगतान और प्राप्ति सेवाओं सहित समूचे खुदरा क्षेत्र की नई भुगतान व्यवस्था का संचालन और व्यवस्था देखनी होगी।

• कंपनी इस प्रकार के भुगतान केन्दों की स्थापना करने से लेकर उनकी देखरेख और परिचालन के लिये जवाबदेह होगी। रिजर्व बैंक की इस संबंध में जारी विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है, ‘‘रिजर्व बैंक इस प्रकार की व्यापक इकाई स्थापित करने वालों से आवेदन आमंत्रित करता है।

• ये आवेदन 26 फरवरी 2021 को सामान्य कामकाज का समय समाप्त होने से पहले उपलब्ध कराये गये फार्म- ए में भरकर सौंप दिये जाने चाहिये। रिजर्व बैंक के अनुसार - इस प्रकार की वृहद इकाई को बैंकों और गैर- बैंकों के लिये क्लयरिंग और निपटान प्रणाली का परिचालन करने की भी अनुमति होगी। इसमें उसे निपटान, तरलता और परिचालन संबंधी जोखिमों की पहचान और उन्हें व्यवस्थित भी करना होगा। इसके साथ ही पूरी प्रणाली की ईमानदारी और सत्यनिष्ठा को बनाये रखना होगा।

• फुटबॉल में, मैनचेस्टर सिटी के मिडफील्डर केविन डी ब्रुने को सीजन 2019-20 के प्रीमियर लीग प्लेयर के रूप में नामित किया गया है।

Dream-11 बना IPL 2020 का टाइटल स्पॉन्सर, 222 करोड़ में खरीदे राइट्स

• फेंटेसी खेल प्लेटफॉर्म ड्रीम11 ने चीनी कंपनी वीवो की जगह लगभग साढे चार महीने के करार के लिए 222 करोड़ रुपये की बोली के साथ इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) का टाइटिल प्रायोजन अधिकार हासिल किया। ड्रीम11 पहले से ही पिछले कुछ वर्षों से आईपीएल के प्रायोजन से जुड़ा है। आईपीएल अध्यक्ष बृजेश पटेल ने बताया, ‘‘ड्रीम11 ने 222 करोड़ रुपये की बोली के साथ अधिकार हासिल किए है।

• जबकि दो शिक्षा प्रौद्योगिकी कंपनियां बायजूस (201 करोड) और अनएकेडमी (170 करोड़) क्रमशः दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर रहें। भारत और चीन के बीच सीमा पर गतिरोध के कारण वीवो और बीसीसीआई ने इस सत्र के लिए प्रति वर्ष 440 करोड़ रुपये के करार को निलंबित कर दिया था।

नियुक्ति और इस्तीफे

अशोक लवासा ने भारत के चुनाव आयुक्त पद से दिया इस्तीफा

• भारत के चुनाव आयुक्त अशोक लवासा ने अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। उन्होंने राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद को अपना इस्तीफा सौंप दिया है। लवासा ने इस्तीफा सितंबर 2020 से फिलीपींस स्थित एशियाई विकास बैंक में उपाध्यक्ष के रूप में शामिल होने के लिए दिया है। वह निजी क्षेत्र के संचालन और सार्वजनिक-निजी भागीदारी के प्रभारी दिवाकर गुप्ता का स्थान लेंगे।

• अशोक लवासा हरियाणा कैडर (बैच 1980) के एक सेवानिवृत्त भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (IAS) अधिकारी हैं, जिन्होंने 23 जनवरी, 2018 को भारत के चुनाव आयुक्त के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण किया था। उन्हें सुशासन और नीति सुधार की पहल में अपने योगदान के लिए जाना जाता हैं। उन्हें वर्ष 2019 में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के साउथर्न क्रॉस विश्वविद्यालय ने International Alumnus Impact Award से सम्मानित किया था।

सत्य पाल मलिक को नियुक्त किया गया मेघालय का नया राज्यपाल

• राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद द्वारा 18 अगस्त 2020 को सत्य पाल मलिक को मेघालय का नया राज्यपाल नियुक्त किया गया है। इससे पहले, वह गोवा के राज्यपाल के रूप में कार्य कर रहे थे।

• सत्य पाल मलिक, तथागत रॉय का स्थान लेंगे जिन्होंने राज्यपाल के रूप में अपना 5 साल का कार्यकाल पूरा कर लिया है, जिसमे उन्होंने 3 साल तक त्रिपुरा और शेष 2 साल मेघालय के राज्यपाल के रूप में कार्य किया था। इसके अलावा, महाराष्ट्र के राज्यपाल भगत सिंह कोश्यारी को अपने कर्तव्यों के अलावा, गोवा के राज्यपाल का अतिरिक्त प्रभार सौंपा गया है।

सेबी ने जीपी गर्ग को बनाया अपना नया कार्यकारी निदेशक

• भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (सेबी) ने जीपी गर्ग को अपना कार्यकारी निदेशक (ईडी) नियुक्त किया है। इससे पहले, वह सेबी में मुख्य महाप्रबंधक थे और उन्होंने जनवरी 1994 में शामिल होने के बाद से कई पदों पर कम कर चुके हैं। वह देश में वित्तीय साक्षरता और निवेशक शिक्षा पर सेबी की पहल के साथ जुड़े रहे हैं।

Atal ARIIA 2020: लिस्ट घोषित, IIT मद्रास बना सर्वश्रेष्ठ इंस्टीट्यूट

• भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति एम वेंकैया नायडू ने शिक्षण संस्थानों के लिए अटल रैंकिंग ऑफ इंस्टीट्यूशन ऑन इनोवेशन अचीवमेंट ( ARIIA 2020) लिस्ट की घोषणा कर दी है। ARIIA रैंकिंग 2020 के तहत, पिछले साल की तरह ही इंडियन इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी (IIT-Madras) को संस्थान को सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्थान दिया गया है।

• NIRF रैंकिंग में IIT-Madras को सर्वश्रेष्ठ संस्थान का स्थान दिया गया था। कुल 10 संस्थानों के लिए रैंक की घोषणा की गई. IIT-मद्रास के बाद IIT-बॉम्बे और IIT दिल्ली का स्थान रहा। रैंक 4 और 5 में क्रमशः IISc और IIT-खड़गपुर रहे हैं।

• महामारी के कारण सोशल डिटेस्टिंग का ध्यान रखते हुए घोषणा एक वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के माध्यम से की गई। जिसमें उप-राष्ट्रपति के अलावा, शिक्षा मंत्री रमेश पोखरियाल निशंक, राज्य मंत्री संजय शामराव धोत्रे और उच्च शिक्षा सचिव अमित खरे ने हिस्सा लिया था।

• प्रत्‍येक वर्ष 19 अगस्त को विश्व मानवतावादी दिवस के रूप में मनाते हैं । यह दिन उन लोगों की याद में मनाया जाता है, जो रियल लाइफ हीरो (#reallifeheroes) होते हैं, यानी ऐसे लोग जो कठिन से कठिन परिस्थितियों में भी लोगों की मदद करने में अपना जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं। विश्व स्तर पर मानवता या मानवीय उद्देश्यों के कारण दूसरों की मदद के लिए अपनी जान भी गंवा देने को तैयार रहते हैं।

• इस वर्ष हम 11वां विश्व मानवतावादी दिवस (World Humanitarian Day 2020) मना रहे हैं और ऐसे समय में जब विश्‍व महामारी से लड़ रहा है, हमारे मानवतावादी (Humanitarians) अभी भी इन कठिन समय के दौरान जरूरतमंद लोगों की मदद कर रहे हैं। 63 देशों में संकट में फंसे लोगों की मदद के लिए अभूतपूर्व बाधाएं पार करके मानवीय कार्यकर्ता आगे आ रहे हैं और साथ दे रहे हैं।

GoI launches National Digital Health Mission

While addressing the nation on 15 August 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of a new campaign called National Digital Health Mission, under which all Indians will be given health IDs.
This Health ID will work as each Indian’s health account. Every test, disease and diagnosis, medicines prescribed by doctors and medical reports along with medicines will be stored in every citizen’s health ID.
The National Digital Health Mission (NDHM), has been launched under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
It is expected to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of health services in the country.

All villages to be connected with optical fibre in next 1,000 days: PM Modi

PM Modi in his speech of Independence Day 2020, made the announcement that the project to connect all the villages of India with optical fibre network will be completed in the next 1,000 days.
Under this project, more than six lakh villages will be connected with optical fibre network in the coming 1,000 days in India.
Apart from this, a high-speed internet connectivity via submarine optical fibre cable will be extended to Lakshadweep in the next 1,000 days to provide high-speed internet services in the region.

NITI Aayog’s AIM, NASSCOM launch Artificial Intelligence Step-up modules for school students

On August 14, 2020 National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog)’s Atal Innovation Mission(AIM) in collaboration with National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) has launched Artificial Intelligence(AI) based Step-up module for school students.
The module was launched in a virtual platform attended by CEO NITI Aayog Mr Amitabh Kant, Mission Director Atal Innovation Mission Mr R Ramanan and NASSCOM President Debjani Ghosh.

Barclays Slashes India’s GDP growth to -6% in FY21

Barclays has predicted India’s GDP to contract by 6% in 2020-21 (FY21). Earlier it had estimated a contraction of 3.2%.
The reason for this downward revision of GDP is India’s rising C-19 infection curve.
For FY22, Barclays has predicted India’s GDP at 7% as compared to 7.4% earlier.

LIC starts ‘Special Revival Campaign’ to revive lapsed policies

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced a special scheme to revive lapsed policies named ‘Special Revival Campaign’.
Those policies that have lapsed during the premium- paying term and not completed policy term as on the date of revival, are eligible to be revived during the campaign.
The campaign is launched to benefit those policyholders who were not able to pay the premium due to unavoidable circumstances and their policy lapsed.
The policies of specific eligible plans can be revived within five years from the date of the first unpaid premium subject to certain terms and conditions.

MS Dhoni retires from international cricket

Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni announcement his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020. The 39-year-old World Cup-winning captain made the announcement through his social media account.
Dhoni shared this information on Instagram on August 15, 2020 as- “Thanks. Thanks for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired”
Dhoni is the only Captain to win all three major International Cricket Council (ICC) trophies — the World Cup, the World Twenty20 and the Champions Trophy.
Since he has announced retirement from International cricket, he will continue to play for Indian Premier League (IPL).
Dhoni has been the recipient of many awards including the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2009 (the first player to win the award twice), the Rajiv Gandhi KhelRatna award in 2007 and the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour, in 2009. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has emerged as one of India's most successful cricket captains.

Suresh Raina retires from International Cricket

Suresh Raina, a renowned Indian Cricket player has announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020.
His announcement came right after MS Dhoni's announcement of retirement from international cricket. Suresh Raina informed about his decision through his Instagram account, which shocked millions of his fans all around the country.
He also especially acknowledged playing with MS Dhoni and mentioned that with pride he has decided to join in the journey of retirement with the former captain of the Indian Cricket team.
Suresh Raina became the first batsman in the world and the first Indian to hit the T20I century. He is also the only Indian to score centuries in both T20I and ODI World Cup.

राष्ट्रीय डिजिटल स्वास्थ्य मिशन लांच किया गया

15 अगस्त 2020 को, पीएम मोदी ने 74वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह में अपने संबोधन के दौरान राष्ट्रीय डिजिटल स्वास्थ्य मिशन को लांच किया।

इस मिशन के तहत, प्रत्येक भारतीय को हेल्थ आईडी कार्ड प्रदान किया जाएगा। आईडी कार्ड में व्यक्ति की पिछली चिकित्सा स्थिति, उपचार और निदान के बारे में सभी प्रासंगिक जानकारी होगी। मिशन पूरी तरह से तकनीक आधारित है।

इस मिशन का उद्देश्य भारत में स्वास्थ्य देखभाल की दक्षता, प्रभावशीलता और पारदर्शिता में सुधार करना है। इसे प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना या आयुष्मान भारत के तहत संचालित किया जाएगा।

कार्ड रखने वाले नागरिक अस्पतालों में अपनी यात्रा के दौरान डॉक्टरों और स्वास्थ्य देखभाल प्रदाताओं के लिए एक बार का उपयोग करने की अनुमति देंगे।

गोपनीय चिकित्सा डेटा तक पहुंचने की अनुमति रोगी द्वारा स्वयं प्रत्येक यात्रा के लिए प्रदान की जाएगी। इसके द्वारा रोगी की गोपनीयता को बनाए रखा जाता है। डिजिटल रिकॉर्ड तक पहुंच का नियंत्रण पूरी तरह से रोगी के हाथ में है। डॉक्टर हर बार केवल मरीजों की इच्छा पर मेडिकल रिकॉर्ड तक पहुंच सकते हैं।

मिशन रोगियों को दूरस्थ रूप से स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं का उपयोग करने की अनुमति देता है। इसमें टेली-परामर्श और ई-फ़ार्मेसी भी शामिल हैं।

सभी गांव 1,000 दिन में आप्टिकल फाइबर नेटवर्क से जुड़ जाएंगे, नई साइबर सुरक्षा नीति जल्द: मोदी

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शनिवार को कहा कि गांवों में तीव्र गति वाले इंटरनेट सुविधा के लिये देश के सभी छह लाख गांवों को आप्टिकल फाइबर नेटवर्क से जोड़ने का काम अगले 1,000 दिनों में पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। साइबर सुरक्षा की चिंता के बीच उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि सरकार जल्द ही नई साइबर सुरक्षा नीति लायेगी।

प्रधानमंत्री ने 74वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस के मौके पर ऐतिहासिक लालकिले की प्राचीर से राष्ट्र को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, ‘‘साल 2014 से पहले देश की सिर्फ 5 दर्जन पंचायतें ऑप्टिल फाइबर से जुड़ी थीं। पिछले पांच वर्ष में डेढ़ लाख ग्राम पंचायतों को तीव्र इंटरनेट सुविधा उपलब्ध कराने वाली आप्टिकल फाइबर सुविधा से जोड़ा गया है।’’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘आने वाले 1,000 दिनों में देश के हर गांव को ऑप्टिकल फाइबर से जोड़ने का काम पूरा कर लिया जाएगा।’’ प्रधानमंत्री ने यह भी कहा कि अगले तीन साल के भीतर लक्षद्वीप को भी तेज गति इंटरनेट की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराने के लिये आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल से जोड़ दिया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले सप्ताह अंडमान निकोबार द्वीप समूह को आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल से जोड़ा गया है।

‘‘अब अंडमान निकोबार को भी चेन्नई और दिल्ली जैसी इंटरनेट की सुविधा उपलब्ध करा दी गई है।’’ मोदी ने कहा, ‘‘अगले 1,000 दिन में लक्षद्वीप को भी तेज इंटरनेट की सुविधा से जोड़ने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।’

’ प्रधानमंत्री ने हाल ही में अंडमान निकोबार द्वीपसमूह के लिये सबमैरीन आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया। कुल 2,312 किलोमीटर लंबी चेन्नई-अंडमान-निकोबार द्वीपसमूह के बीच समुद्र के अंदर बिछायी गयी आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल परियोजना से केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में ब्रॉडबैंड कनेक्शन की गति देश के अन्य भागों की तरह हो गयी है।

NITI Aayog ने स्कूल के छात्रों के लिए AI मॉड्यूल लॉन्च किया

स्कूली छात्रों को आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (एआई) और आधुनिक जीवन में इसके व्यावहारिक अनुप्रयोगों से परिचित करने के प्रयास में, NITI Aayog के अटल इनोवेशन मिशन (AIM), NASSCOM के सहयोग से, देश भर के स्कूली छात्रों के लिए आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस स्टेप-अप मॉड्यूल शुरू किया है।

नवीनतम मॉड्यूल एआई बेस मॉड्यूल का पालन करते हैं जो एनआईटीआईयोग द्वारा इस साल फरवरी में लॉन्च किए गए थे। एनआईटीआईयोग द्वारा जारी एक प्रेस नोट के अनुसार, लर्न इट्स योर सेल्फ एडवांस्ड मॉड्यूल्स की मदद से छात्र अपने ज्ञानकोष एआई और उसके अनुप्रयोगों का विस्तार कर पाएंगे।

जो मॉड्यूल छात्रों को आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस की गहरी समझ प्रदान करने के लिए डिज़ाइन किए गए हैं, वे ग्राफिक-आधारित हैं जो विभिन्न ग्रामीण और शहरी पृष्ठभूमि के छात्रों को मॉड्यूल को प्रभावी ढंग से समझने में मदद करेंगे। यहां तक कि जो छात्र फरवरी में जारी किए गए बुनियादी मॉड्यूल को पूरा नहीं कर पाए, वे स्टेप-अप मॉड्यूल को भी समझ पाएंगे क्योंकि बुनियादी परिभाषाओं और अवधारणाओं को भी मॉड्यूल में विस्तृत रूप से समझाया गया है।

बैंक ने तय किया है कि आज से अगले कुछ महीनों तक उनके जितने ग्राहक पहला डिजिटल बैंकिंग लेन देन करेगा, प्रति यूजर 5 रुपये पीएम केअर्स फंड (PN Cares Fund) में दान दिया जाएगा
यह योगदान यूपीआई सेवा को डाउनलोड एवं एक्टिव करने पर भी दिया जाएगा

बार्कलेज ने भारत की जीडीपी वृद्धि को वित्त वर्ष 21 में -6% तक घटाया

बार्कलेज ने 2020-21 (FY21) में भारत के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद का 6% तक अनुबंध करने की भविष्यवाणी की है। पहले इसने 3.2% के संकुचन का अनुमान लगाया था।
जीडीपी के इस नीचे संशोधन का कारण भारत का बढ़ता C-19 संक्रमण वक्र है।
वित्त वर्ष 2022 के लिए, बार्कलेज ने पहले 7.4% की तुलना में भारत की जीडीपी 7% की भविष्यवाणी की है।

LIC ने लैप्स पॉलिसीस को दोबारा चालू करने के लिए शुरू की विशेष योजना

भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम (LIC) ने लैप्स (रुकी हुई) पॉलियों को फिर से चालू करने के लिए ‘Special Revival Campaign’ नामकएक विशेष योजना शुरू करने की घोषणा की है। यह अभियान 10 अगस्त से 9 अक्टूबरतक चलाया जाएगा, जिसके दौरान ग्राहक अपनी लैप्स पॉलिसीको दोबारा चालू कर सकते हैं।

विशिष्ट पात्र योजनाओं की पॉलिसीस को कुछ नियमों और शर्तों के तहत पहले अनपेड प्रीमियम की तारीख से पांच साल के भीतर पुनः चालू किया जा सकता है.

हालाँकि यह चिकित्सा आवश्यकताओं में कोई रियायत नहीं दी जा रही है, लेकिन अन्य उच्च जोखिम वाली योजनाओं के अलावा विलंब शुल्क में कुछ रियायतों की अनुमति दी जा सकती है।

जिन पॉलिसीसने प्रीमियम-भुगतान अवधि के दौरान चूक की है और पुनरीक्षण की तारीख के अनुसार पॉलिसी अवधि पूरी नहीं की है, वे अभियान के दौरान पुनर्जीवित होने के पात्र हैं।

यह अभियान उन पॉलिसीधारकों को लाभान्वित करने के लिए शुरू किया गया है जो अपरिहार्य परिस्थितियों के कारण प्रीमियम का भुगतान करने में सक्षम नहीं थे और उनकी पॉलिसी लैप्स हो गई थी। कवर को बहाल करने के लिए हमेशा पुरानी पालिसी को पुनः शुरू करना बेहतर समझा जाता है।

एमएस धोनी ने अंतरराष्‍ट्रीय क्रिकेट से लिया संन्यास

पूर्व भारतीय कप्तान, एमएस धोनी ने 15 अगस्त, 2020 को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से संन्यास की घोषणा की। 39 वर्षीय विश्व कप विजेता कप्तान ने अपने सोशल मीडिया अकाउंट के माध्यम से घोषणा की।

धोनी ने 15 अगस्त, 2020 को इंस्टाग्राम पर यह जानकारी साझा की।

धोनी तीनों प्रमुख अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद (ICC) ट्रॉफ़ी जीतने वाले एकमात्र कप्तान हैं - विश्व कप, विश्व ट्वेंटी 20 और चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी।

उन्होंने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से सन्‍यास की घोषणा की है, वह इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) के लिए खेलना जारी रखेंगे।

सुरेश रैना ने इंटरनैशनल क्रिकेट से सन्‍यास लिया

एक प्रसिद्ध भारतीय क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी सुरेश रैना ने 15 अगस्त 2020 को अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से संन्यास लेने की घोषणा की है।
एमएस धोनी द्वारा अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से संन्यास की घोषणा के ठीक बाद उनकी घोषणा हुई। सुरेश रैना ने अपने इंस्टाग्राम अकाउंट के जरिए अपने फैसले की जानकारी दी, जिसने देश भर में उनके लाखों प्रशंसकों को चौंका दिया।
उन्होंने विशेष रूप से एमएस धोनी के साथ खेलना स्वीकार किया और उल्लेख किया कि गर्व के साथ उन्होंने भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के पूर्व कप्तान के साथ सन्‍यास की यात्रा में शामिल होने का फैसला किया है।
सुरेश रैना विश्‍व कप के पहले बल्लेबाज और T20 शतक लगाने वाले पहले भारतीय बने। वह T20 और ODI विश्व कप दोनों में शतक बनाने वाले एकमात्र भारतीय भी हैं।
