Tamil Nadu women top the list of MUDRA loan scheme beneficiaries
• Women of Tamil Nadu have topped the list of women borrowers under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) since its inception.
• More than 15 crore loans amounting to ₹4.78-lakh-crore have been disbursed to women borrowers under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY).
• As on March 31, 2020 women in Tamil Nadu had availed Rs. 58,227 crore loan from the scheme followed by West Bengal Rs. 55,232 crore, Karnataka Rs. 47,714 crore, Bihar Rs. 44,879 crore and Maharashtra Rs. 42,000 crore loan.
NITI Aayog releases report on Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2020
• NITI Aayog has released the report on Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2020 in partnership with the Institute of Competitiveness. The report evaluates the export preparedness and performance of Indian states.
• It aims to identify the challenges and opportunities; improve the effectiveness of government policies; and promote a facilitative regulatory framework.
• Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu occupied the top three ranks in the Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2020.
Tata Group to launch “Super App” for digital services
• Tata Group is launching a new app named “Super App” purported to bring together the country’s disparate sales sector to offer a range of consumer goods.
• The app will put the conglomerate in competition with giants of the region like Reliance Industries and global titans like Amazon.
• The app will offer food and grocery ordering, fashion and lifestyle, consumer electronics and consumer durables, insurance and financial services, education, healthcare and bill payments.

RBI predicts India’s growth at (-) 4.5% for 2020-21
• The Reserve Bank of India has projected the country’s growth rate at (-) 4.5 percent for 2020-2021. In an annual report released by the bank on August 25, 2020, the global growth rate has been projected between (-) 6.0 percent and (-) 7.6 percent.
• The report also informed that the expected headline inflation will remain elevated in the current year but is likely to ease in the second half of the fiscal. While mentioning that it is difficult to accurately assess the economic impact of C-19 pandemic as the dynamics have still been evolving.
• Reserve Bank of India in its report mentioned that it looks like that the decline in economic activity had reached its trough in the April-June quarter of 2020-2021 and has recovered thereafter at a gradual pace.

• Former President of the Republic of Congo, Pascal Lissouba passed away. He served as the president from 1992 to 1997.
• He became the minister of agriculture in 1960 after Congo became an independent country.

James Anderson first-ever fast bowler to take 600 wickets in Test Cricket
• England's James Anderson has become the first-ever fast bowler to take 600 Test wickets. 38 year-old Anderson created history during England's third test match against Pakistan on August 25, 2020 in Southampton.
• He reached the milestone when he dismissed Pakistan's Azhar Ali and claimed his 600th Test wicket.
• Overall he is the 4th bowler to take 600 test wickets after 3 spinners Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, and Anil Kumble.
Indian Table Tennis star Poulomi Ghatak announced retirement
• Indian Table Tennis star, Poulomi Ghatak has announced retirement. The Kolkata-born athlete is a seven-time national champion, winning between 1998 and 2016.
• She had represented India at the Commonwealth Games in 2006 and Commonwealth championships between 2000 and 2008. She entered the Olympics in Sydney for the first time when she was 16.

• Rajiv Srivastava, the Managing Director & CEO of Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) has resigned on August 24, 2020 from the board of the company with immediate effect, due to his personal reasons.
• The board of directors of the company have given Satyanarayan Goel the additional charge of Managing Director and CEO for an interim period.
Vinay Tonse becomes new MD and CEO of SBI Mutual Fund
• Vinay Tonse has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Mutual Fund (MF).
• He will replace Ashwani Bhatia, who has been now appointed as the managing director (MD) of State Bank of India.

तमिलनाडु मुद्रा योजना के तहत महिलाओं को ऋण देने में रहा शीर्ष पर
• वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा राज्यसभा में प्रस्तुत किए गए आंकड़ों के अनुसार, तमिलनाडु प्रधान मंत्री मुद्रा योजना (PMMY) के तहत महिलाओं को ऋण देने की सूची में सबसे ऊपर है। इसके बाद पश्चिम बंगाल और कर्नाटक का स्थान है। वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा प्रस्तुत किए आंकड़ों के अनुसार, प्रधानमंत्री मुद्रा योजना की शुरुआत के बाद से महिला उधारकर्ताओं के लिए लगभग 4.78 लाख करोड़ रुपये के लगभग 15 करोड़ ऋण वितरित किए गए थे।
• 31 मार्च, 2020 तक, तमिलनाडु ने 58,227 करोड़ रुपये का लाभ उठाया था। अन्य राज्यों द्वारा प्रदान किए गए ऋण इस प्रकार हैं
पश्चिम बंगाल: 55,232 करोड़ रुपये
कर्नाटक: 47,714 करोड़ रुपये
बिहार: 44,879 रुपये
महाराष्ट्र: 42,000 करोड़ रुपये
• उपरोक्त सभी राज्यों में महिलाओं के लिए 52% मुद्रा ऋण प्राप्त हुए हैं। ऋणों का लाभ कृषि, सेवाओं, व्यापार, प्रसंस्करण, विनिर्माण आदि से संबंधित गतिविधियों के लिए लिया गया था, मुद्रा योजना के तहत प्रदान किए गए कुल ऋणों में से 70% उधारकर्ता महिलाएं थीं।
नीति आयोग ने एक्सपोर्ट प्रिपेडेन्स इंडेक्स (EPI) 2020 पर रिपोर्ट की जारी
• नीति आयोग ने प्रतिस्पर्धात्मकता संस्थान (Institute of Competitiveness) की साझीदारी में निर्यात तैयारी सूचकांक (Export Preparedness Index) 2020 पर रिपोर्ट जारी की है। इस रिपोर्ट में भारतीय राज्यों की निर्यात तैयारी और प्रदर्शन का मूल्यांकन किया गया है। इसका उद्देश्य चुनौतियों और अवसरों की पहचान करना, सरकारी नीतियों की प्रभावोत्पादकता को बढ़ाना और एक सुविधाजनक नियामकीय संरचना को प्रोत्साहित करना है। गुजरात, महाराष्ट्र और तमिलनाडु निर्यात तैयारी सूचकांक (EPI) 2020 में शीर्ष तीन स्थान पर है।

टाटा समूह ने डिजिटल सेवाओं के लिए "Super App'' लॉन्च की
• टाटा समूह ने उपभोक्ता उत्पाद की एक श्रृंखला पेशकश करने के लिए देश के असमान बिक्री क्षेत्र को एक साथ लाने के लिए “Super App” नाम से एक नया ऐप लॉन्च किया है। यह ऐप रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज और अमेजन जैसे वैश्विक दिग्गजों को इस क्षेत्र में टक्कर देगा।
• यह ऐप खाने-पीने ऑर्डरिंग, फैशन और जीवन शैली, उपभोक्ता इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और अन्य उपभोक्ता उत्पाद, बीमा और वित्तीय सेवाएं, शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य सेवा और बिल भुगतान जैसी सेवाए मुहैया कराएगा।
बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था
FY21 में (-) 4.5% रह सकती है GDP ग्रोथ: RBI
• रिजर्व बैंक ने अनुमान जताया है कि भारत की जीडीपी ग्रोथ वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 में (-) 4.5% रह सकती है। ग्लोबल ग्रोथ को लेकर आरबीआई का अनुमान है कि यह सिंगल हिट सिनेरियो में (-) 6.0% फीसदी और डबल हिट सिनेरियो में (-) 7.6% रह सकती है। आरबीआई के अनुसार 68 दिनों के C-19 से आय में नुकसान (कैपिटल और लेबर) के कारण मैन्युफैक्चरिंग और माइनिंग सेक्टर्स को 2.7 लाख करोड़ रुपये तक का झटका लग सकता है।
• रिजर्व बैंक ने 2019-20 की वार्षिक रिपोर्ट पेश की। इसके एक हिस्से ‘आकलन और संभावनाएं’ में आरबीआई ने कहा है कि महामारी के बीच भारत को सतत वृद्धि की राह पर लौटने के लिए गहरे और व्यापक सुधारों की जरूरत है। केंद्रीय बैंक ने आगाह किया है कि इस महामारी की वजह से देश की संभावित वृद्धि दर की क्षमता नीचे आएगी। महामारी ने वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था को बुरी तरह से तोड़ दिया है। भविष्य में वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था का आकार इस बात पर निर्भर करेगा कि इस महामारी का फैलाव कैसा रहता है, यह महामारी कब तक रहती है और कब तक इसके इलाज का टीका आता है।

• राष्ट्रीय ई-गवर्नेंस डिवीजन (NeGD), इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और आईटी मंत्रालय (MeitY) ने CSC (कॉमन सर्विस सेंटर) e Governance Services India Limited के साथ भागीदारी की है।
• साझेदारी का उद्देश्य 3.75 लाख सीएससी के नेटवर्क के माध्यम से नागरिकों को UMANG सेवाओं के वितरण को सक्षम करना है।

• भारत सरकार के नवरत्न NLC इंडिया लिमिटेड (NLCIL) ने "स्वच्छता ही सेवा कार्यक्रम" के कार्यान्वयन में अत्यंत मूल्यवान योगदान देने के लिए पुरस्कार जीता है। एनएलसीआईएल के सीएमडी राकेश कुमार ने एनएलसीआईएल के प्रयासों को पूरी नेवेली को प्लास्टिक-मुक्त, स्वच्छ और हरे-भरे परिसर में बदलने और "स्वच्छता ही सेवा 2019" पुरस्कार की घोषणा करने का प्रयास किया था।

कांगो के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति पास्कल लिसौबा का निधन
• कांगो गणराज्य के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति पास्कल लिसौबा (Pascal Lissouba) का निधन हो गया। वह 1960 में कांगो के स्वतंत्र देश बनने के बाद कृषि मंत्री बने थे। उन्होंने 1992 से 1997 तक राष्ट्रपति के रूप में कार्य किया था। उन्होंने अल्फोंस मासम्बा डिबेट के राष्ट्रपति काल में प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया था।
• कांगो गणराज्य के हाई कोर्ट ने 2001 में देशद्रोह और भ्रष्टाचार के लिए पास्कल लिसौबा को 30 साल की सजा सुनाई थी।

• भारतीय टेबल टेनिस स्टार, पोलोमी घटक ने सन्यास की घोषणा की है। कोलकाता में जन्मी एथलीट सात बार की राष्ट्रीय चैंपियन हैं, जो उन्होने 1998 और 2016 के बीच जीती थी।
• उन्हाने 2006 और कॉमनवेल्थ चैंपियनशिप में 2000 और 2008 के बीच भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया था। उन्हाने 16 साल की उम्र में पहली बार सिडनी में ओलंपिक में प्रवेश किया था।
