Senior IPS officer Archana Ramasundaram was appointed as the Director of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), New Delhi.

The Centre has approved an anti-chit fund bill passed by West Bengal Assembly in 2013, state Finance Minister Amit Mitra said. Centre has given green signal to West Bengal Protection of Interest of Depositors in Financial Establishments Bill. The Centre has also agreed to the state government?s proposal of having provisions for strong punishment in such financial crimes, which was also in the Bill.

Pradeep Kumar Sinha, an IAS officer of 1977 batch, UP cadre, assumed charge as Cabinet Secretary. He takes over from Ajit Kumar Seth. P.K. Sinha was earlier OSD in the Cabinet Secretariat. He has served in different capacities in the Government of India as well as in the States.

Globally published photojournalist Chandu Mhatre, who photographed major political news stories of India for the past four decades passed away. He died because of heart attack. 

Creator of world famous Rock Garden Nek Chand passed away in a hospital in Chandigarh. He was 90. He built the Chandigarh's iconic Rock Garden from waste and other unused household materials. Spread over an area of 40-acres, the garden was inaugurated in 1976.

Zimbabwe's Government has decided to end the local currency (Zimbabwean Dollar) by September 2015. This process starts from 15 June 2015 and people can exchange this currency with American dollar from their respective banks. Bank accounts with balances of up to 175 quadrillion Zimbabwean dollars to be paid just US$ 5 in the exchange. This is due to the fact that the Zimbabwean dollar has become almost worthless

ISRO,the Indian space agency's low-cost Mangalyaan Mars Orbiter Mission has been presented with the Space Pioneer award for the year 2015 by the US National Space Society. Space Pioneer award for the year 2015 was presented to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in the Science and Engineering category during the 34th Annual International Space Development Conference held at Toronto in Canada during May 20-24, 2015. National Space Society (NSS) of USA presented the award in recognition of ISRO's efforts in accomplishing Mars Mission in its very first attempt.
