'Visaranai' India's Official Entry to Oscars 2017

Visaranai, the Tamil docu-drama crime thriller, has been chosen India’s official entry to Best Foreign Language Film category at the 89th Academy Awards to be held in 2017.
•   The national award-winning film, directed by Vetrimaran, and produced by actor Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, documents four migrant workers who suffer police brutality and corruption after being jailed on false charges.
•   Part of the film is based on true events recorded in novel Lock Up, written by M. Chandrakumar, an autorickshaw driver from Coimbatore.
•   Dhanush said it was a proud and joyous moment for his production house and director Vetrimaran.
•   The last Tamil movie that made it to the list as official entry to the Oscars was Hey Ram, directed by, and starring Kamal Haasan.
•   The film was simultaneously made in Hindi in 2000.

ऑस्कर 2017 में ‘विसरनई’ होगी भारत की आधिकारिक प्रविष्टि

राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार जीतने वाली तमिल फिल्म ‘विसरनई’ 2017 के 89वें ऑस्कर पुरस्कारों की विदेशी भाषा फिल्म श्रेणी में भारत की आधिकारिक प्रविष्टि होगी.
•   राष्ट्रीय अवार्ड जीतने वाली ये फिल वेत्रीमरन द्वारा निर्देशित है और इसके निर्माता अभिनेता धनुष की वंडरबार फिल्म्स है जो एक कामगार व्यक्ति पर पुलिस की बर्बता को दर्शाता है
•   वेत्रिमारन इसके लेखक और निर्देशक हैं. फिल्म एम चंद्रकुमार के उपन्यास 'लॉक अप' पर आधारित है जो कोएमबटोर में रिक्शा चलाते हैं .'विसरनई' पुलिस की बर्बरता, भ्रष्टाचार और अन्याय को दिखाती है.
•   धनुष ने कहा कि यह उनके प्रोडक्शन हाउस और निर्देशक वेत्रिमारण के लिए एक गर्व और खुशी का क्षण था।
•   इससे पहले ऑस्कर के लिए आधिकारिक प्रविष्टि पाने वाली तमिल फिल्म थी हे राम जिसके निर्देशक और अभिनेता कमल हसन थे।
•   फिल्म को 2000 में हिंदी में बनाया गया था।
