Three Economists added to MPC
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has appointed three economists as the external appointees on the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
• They are Pami Dua, Chetan Ghate and Ravindra Dholakia.
• Pami Dua is an expert on econometrics and forecasting, has a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics.
• Chetan Ghate is a macroeconomist and a professor at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Delhi.
• Ravindra Dholakia is a faculty member of Economics at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.
• With this, MPC consists of three Reserve Bank of India (RBI) representatives and three external appointees.
• They will work to decide interest rates.
• MPC under the RBI will decide monetary policy by setting interest rates.
• It aims to bring significant changes in the power the RBI governor while deciding interest rates.
मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति (एसीसी) ने मौद्रिक नीति समिति (एमपीसी) में बाहर से तीन अर्थशास्त्रियों को नियुक्त किया है।
• ये तीन लोग हैं पामी दुआ, चेतन घाटे और रविंद्र ढोलकिया ।
• पामी दुआअर्थमिति और भविष्यवाणी पर एक विशेषज्ञ है, और इन्होने पीएच.डी. लंदन स्कूल ऑफ इकॉनॉमिक्स से किया है ।
• चेतन घाटे एक मैक्रोइकोनॉमिस्ट और भारतीय सांख्यिकी संस्थान (आईएसआई), दिल्ली में एक प्रोफेसर है।
• रविंद्र ढोलकिया भारतीय प्रबंधन संस्थान (आईआईएम), अहमदाबाद में अर्थशास्त्र के एक संकाय सदस्य है।
• इस के साथ एमपीसी में भारत के तीन रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) के बी बाहर के तीन प्रतिनिधि नियुक्त हो गये।
• ये सभी ब्याज दरों के बारे में फैसला करने के लिए काम करेंगे।
• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक के तहत एमपीसी ब्याज दर मौद्रिक नीति तय करेगा।
• यह रिजर्व बैंक के ब्याज दरों में निर्णायक फैसला लेंगे और ताकि गवर्नर बाकी काम देख सकें ।
