The first Mega Food Park (M.F.P.) of Madhya Pradesh initiated at Panwa town in Kasarwad tehsil of Khargone area.
The MFP, named after Indus, was initiated by Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries.
Points of interest identified with the Mega Food Park:
• It was set up by M/s Indus uber Food Part Pvt. Ltd at an expected expense of 127.70 crore rupees in a region of 53.78 sections of land.
• It has a Central Processing Center at Khargone and three Primary Processing Centers are being set up at Media, Ratlam and Ujjain to give solid in reverse linkages. It is required to give immediate and aberrant vocation to around 6000 individuals and advantage around 25000 to 30000 ranchers in its catchment region.
• It will have offices of 3000 MT Cold Storage, 9000 MT Dry Warehouse, Instant Quick Freeze (IQF) 5 MT for every hour, present day Quality Control lab and other handling offices for foods grown from the ground.
• It will make a present day base for capturing post-harvest misfortunes of green and non-plant deliver and give the impulse to the development of nourishment preparing division in Madhya Pradesh.
• It will help in giving better costs to ranchers, lessen wastage of perishables and increase the value of farming produce.
• It will help in making colossal open doors for business and work for the young of the State.
• It will advantage the general population of Khargone region and the general population of close-by regions of Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dhar, Khandwa, Dewa and Barwani also.
