Sahitya Akademi Award 2016 announced

Sahitya Akademi on 21 December 2016 announced the Sahitya Akademi Awards for the year 2016 in 24 languages. Eight books of poetry, seven books of short stories, five books of novel, two books of criticism, one book of essays and a book of play have won the prestigious awards for the year.
●   The awards were recommended by distinguished jury members representing 24 Indian languages and approved by the Executive Board of the Sahitya Akademi, under the Chairmanship of Dr. Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, President of the Akademy.
●   The prestigious award will be presented to the winners at a special function to be held on 22 February 2017 in New Delhi. The Award includes a casket containing an engraved copper-plaque, a shawl and a cheque of Rs. 100000.
●
●   The Sahitya Akademi Award is a literary honour in India.
●   It is conferred annually on writers of the most outstanding books of literary merit published in any of the major Indian languages recognised by the Sahitya Akademi.
●   The Award was established in 1954.
●   Indian film-maker Satyajit Ray is designer of the plaque awarded by the Sahitya Akademi.

साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार 2016 की घोषणा

साहित्य अकादमी द्वारा 21 दिसंबर 2016 को भारतीय भाषाओं के लेखकों के लिए साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कारों की घोषणा की गयी. साहित्य अकादमी द्वारा 24 भारतीय भाषाओं में पुरस्कारों के लिए नाम जारी किये गये.
●   इन पुरस्कारों में पांच उपन्यास, सात कहानी संग्रह, एक निबंध संग्रह, आठ कविता संग्रह, दो समालोचना और एक नाटक को पुरस्कार हेतु चयन किया गया है.
●   हिंदी भाषा के लिए प्रसिद्ध लेखिका नासिरा शर्मा को उनके उपन्यास ‘पारिजात’ हेतु चयनित किया गया. नासिरा ने अब तक 10 कहानी संकलन, छह उपन्यास तथा तीन लेखों के संकलन की रचना की है. उन्होंने राजस्थानी लेखकों की रचनाओं का संपादन भी किया.
●   वर्ष 1948 में इलाहाबाद में जन्मी नासिरा शर्मा ने फ़ारसी भाषा एवं साहित्य में स्नातकोतर डिग्री हासिल की. उन्होंने हिंदी, उर्दू, फारसी, अंग्रेजी तथा पश्तो भाषाओं में महारत हासिल है.
●   अंग्रेजी भाषा के साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार हेतु जेरी पिंटो को उनके उपन्यास 'एम एंड द बिग हूम' के लिए चयनित किया गया.
●   साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार में एक उत्कीर्ण ताम्रफलक, शॉल और एक लाख रुपये की राशि प्रदान की जाती है. यह पुरस्कार 22 फरवरी 2017 को नई दिल्ली में आयोजित विशेष समारोह में प्रदान किए जाएंगे. पुस्कारों की घोषणा साहित्य अकादमी के सचिव डॉ. के श्रीनिवास राव ने की. यह पुरस्कार 1 जनवरी 2010 से 31 दिसंबर 2014 के दौरान प्रकाशित कृतियों में श्रेष्ठ कृतियों को दिया गया.

Maneka Sanjay Gandhi gives away National Level Awards to 97 Anganwadi workers from across the country

The Minister of Women & Child Development, Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi gave away National Awards to Anganwadi workers for exceptional achievement for the year 2014-15 and 2015-16 in the presence of Minster of State for Women & Child Development, Smt Krishna Raj. The Awards were given away at a function in New Delhi today. A total of 97 Anganwadi workers (49 for the year 2014-15 and 48 for 2015-16) from different states/UTs were conferred National level awards for the above years. Representatives from various States/UTs and heads of various organizations under the Ministry were also present at the function.
●   Smt Maneka Gandhi exhorted the anganwadi wokers to ensure the following:
●   Spread awareness about BBBP for giving good nutrition & education to the girl child.
●   Ensure that every child & every parent has an AADHAR Card.
●   Give education about cashless payments especially in the villages.
●   Selection of Anganwadi workers for the National Level Awards has been done out of State level awardees and their performance has been judged on the basis of contribution to (i) Supplementary Nutrition; (ii) Child Care; (iii) Convergence with Health Department; (iv) Pre-School Education; (v) Nutrition and Health Education (NHED); (vi) Community Participation; (vii) Cleanliness & Hygiene; and (viii) Innovations.
●   The Award comprises of Rs.25,000/- cash and a citation. National level Awards to AWWs for the year 2011-12, 2012-13 & 2013-14 were given to 118 awardees during a function held last year at New Delhi. Thus, awards pertaining to the last five years have been given.

श्रीमती मेनका गांधी ने देश भर के 97 आंगनबाड़ी कर्मियों को राष्ट्रीय स्तर के पुरस्कार प्रदान किए

महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्री श्रीमती संजय मेनका गांधी ने वर्ष 2014-15 और 2015-16 में असाधारण कार्यों के लिए आंगनबाड़ी कर्मियों को महिला एवं बाल विकास राज्य मंत्री श्रीमती कृष्णा राज की उपस्थिति में राष्ट्रीय स्तर के पुरस्कार प्रदान किए। यह पुरस्कार राजधानी में आयोजित एक समारेह में दिए गए। समारोह में विभिन्न राज्यों तथा केन्द्र शासित प्रदेशों के कुल 97( वर्ष 2014-15 के लिए 49 और 2015-16 के लिए 48 ) आंगंनबाड़ी कर्मियों को ये पुरस्कार दिए गए। पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह में राज्यों तथा केन्द्र शासित प्रदेश के प्रतिनिधि और विभिन्न संस्थानों के प्रमुखों ने भाग लिया।
●   श्रीमती मेनका गांधी ने निम्न उद्देश्यों को हासिल करने के लिए आंगनबाड़ी कर्मियों का आह्वान किया :
●   बच्च्यिों को अच्छा पोषक पदार्थ और उनकी शिक्षा देने के लिए बीबीबीपी के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाना
●   यह सुनिश्चित करना कि हम बच्चे और उसके माता-पिता के पास आधार कार्ड हो
●   गांवों में विशेष तौर पर कैशलेस भुगतान के बारे में लोगों को शिक्षित करना
●   राष्ट्रीय स्तर के पुरस्कार के लिए आंगनबाड़ी कर्मियों का चयन राज्य स्तर के पुरस्कार पाने वाली कर्मियों और उनके (i)पूरक पोषण (ii बच्चों की देखभाल (iii) स्वास्थ्य विभाग के साथ तालमेल(iv) स्कूल पूर्व शिक्षा (v) पोषण एवं स्वास्थ्य शिक्षा (एनएचईडी) (vi) सामुदायिक भागीदारी (vii) स्वच्छता एवं स्वास्थ्य और (viii) नवाचारों के क्षेत्र में दिए गए उनके योगदान के आधार पर किया जाता है।
●   इस पुरस्कार में 25,000 रुपये नकद और एक प्रमाण पत्र दिया जाता है। वर्ष 20111-12, 2012-13 और 2013-14 के लिए 118 अंगनबाड़ीकर्मियों को पिछले साल राजधानी में आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम यह पुरस्कार दिया गया था। इस तरह पिछले पांच साल के लिए सभी विजेताओं को यह पुरस्कार दिए जा चुके हैं।

Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Law and Justice presented ‘’Digital India Awards’’ to the distinguished winners here yesterday. The Government of India has initiated the ambitious programme of “Digital India” on its axiom of “Minimum Government and Maximum Governance”. To facilitate Government of India’s effort to promote and uphold the use of World Wide Web for enhancing efficiency and transparency of Government Machinery and encouraging its speedy transition towards Digital India.
●   For Most Innovative Citizen Engagement, MyGov won the Platinum Award. Online Management, Monitoring and Accounting System (OMMAS) for Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) won the Gold Award. The Silver Award was won by Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation. The Jury Choice was given to IT Initiatives of SimhasthKumbh, Ujjain.
●   In the Outstanding Digital Initiative by Local Body Platinum Award was bagged by Surat Municipal Corporation, followed by Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and Web and Mobile based Integrated Complaint Logging and Resolution Tracking System - Madurai Corporation winning the Gold and Silver award respectively.
●   The Jury Choice was given e-NagarSewaUP – Electronic Workflow based Reform for ULBs in Uttar Pradesh.
●   For Best Mobile App, Citizen Cop Mobile App Chattisgarh won the Platinum Award. Mid-Day Meal Mobile App, Himachal Pradesh won the Gold Award. The Silver Award was won by GARV - GrameenVidyutikaran App Ministry of Power.
●   For Web Ratna - Ministry / Department category, the Platinum was bagged by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Gold by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Silver by Ministry of External Affairs.
●   For Web Ratna - State/ UT category the Platinum award has been won by Rajasthan followed by Tamil Nadu and Haryana in the Gold and Silver section respectively. For Web Ratna - District category the Platinum award has been won by Website of Collectorate, North Goa, followed by e-Governance friendly website & Initiatives of District Kupwara, J&K and district administration Udham Singh Nagar website, Uttarakhand in the Gold and Silver section respectively.

संचार एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी और विधि एवं न्याय मंत्री श्री रवि शंकर प्रसाद ने कल यहां विशिष्ट विजेताओं को ‘डिजिटल इंडिया पुरस्कार’ प्रदान किये। भारत सरकार ने ‘न्यूनतम सरकार और अधिकतम शासन’ के अपने सिद्धांत के मद्देनजर महत्वाकांक्षी कार्यक्रम ‘डिजिटल इंडिया’ शुरू किया है।
●   अनुकरणीय ऑनलाइन सेवा श्रेणी में उत्तर प्रदेश के वाणिज्यिक कर विभाग से जुड़े व्यास- वर्नीज याकर ऑटोमेशन सिस्टम को प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ है। वहीं, गुजरात के वाणिज्यिक कर विभाग के ई-परमिट और पंजाब निवेश संवर्धन ब्यूरो के वन स्टॉप क्लीयरेंस सिस्टम क्रमश: स्वर्ण एवं रजत पुरस्कार जीतने में सफल रहे हैं।
●   ओपन डाटा चैंपियन श्रेणी में भारत के महापंजीयक कार्यालय ने प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार जीता है। स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण और विपणन एवं निरीक्षण निदेशालय स्वर्ण पुरस्कार जीतने में सफल रहा है, जबकि राज्य सभा और राष्ट्रीय अपराध रिकॉर्ड ब्यूरो ने रजत पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया है।
●   सबसे अभिनव नागरिक भागीदारी के लिए माईगव (MyGov) ने प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार जीता है। प्रधानमंत्री ग्राम सड़क योजना (पीएमजीएसवाई) से जुड़ी ऑनलाइन प्रबंधन, निगरानी एवं लेखांकन प्रणाली (ओएमएमएएस) ने स्वर्ण पुरस्कार हासिल किया है, जबकि रजत पुरस्कार कोयंबटूर शहर नगर निगम को प्राप्त हुआ है। ज्यूरी च्वाइस सिंहस्थ कुंभ, उज्जैन की आईटी पहल को हासिल हुई।
●   स्थानीय निकाय की उत्कृष्ट डिजिटल पहल श्रेणी में प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार सूरत नगर निगम ने जीता। ग्रेटर विशाखापत्तनम नगर निगम और वेब एवं मोबाइल आधारित एकीकृत शिकायत संलेखन एवं समाधान ट्रैकिंग सिस्टम - मदुरै निगम को क्रमश: स्वर्ण एवं रजत पुरस्कार हासिल हुये हैं।
●   सर्वोत्तम मोबाइल एप श्रेणी में प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार सिटीजन कॉप मोबाइल एप छत्तीसगढ़ को हासिल हुआ। मिड-डे मील मोबाइल एप, हिमाचल प्रदेश ने स्वर्ण पुरस्कार जीता, जबकि रजत पुरस्कार विद्युत मंत्रालय के गर्व अर्थात ग्रामीण विद्युतीकरण एप को प्राप्त हुआ।
●   वेब रत्न - मंत्रालय/विभाग श्रेणी में प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय ने जीता, जबकि स्वर्ण एवं रजत पुरस्कार क्रमश: स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय और विदेश मंत्रालय को प्राप्त हुये।
●   वेब रत्न - राज्य/केन्द्र शासित प्रदेश श्रेणी में प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार राजस्थान ने जीता, जबकि तमिलनाडु और हरियाणा क्रमश: स्वर्ण एवं रजत पुरस्कार जीतने में सफल रहे। वेब रत्न - जिला श्रेणी में प्लेटिनम पुरस्कार कलेक्ट्रेट, उत्तरी गोवा की वेबसाइट को प्राप्त हुआ है, जबकि जम्मू-कश्मीर के कुपवाड़ा जिले की ई-गवर्नेंस अनुकूल वेबसाइट एवं पहलों को स्वर्ण पुरस्कार तथा उत्तराखण्ड के उधम सिंह नगर जिला प्रशासन की वेबसाइट को रजत पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ है।

Shah Rukh Khan chosen for Yash Chopra Memorial Award

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan featured in some of the biggest hits helmed by filmmaker Yash Chopra.
●   Now he has been selected for an award instituted in the memory of late Bollywood legend.
●   The 'Badshah of Bollywood" will receive the fourth National Yash Chopra Memorial Award.
●   The award jury, comprising Chopra's wife Pamela, filmmaker Boney Kapoor, Simi Garewal, Padmini Kohlapuri, Subbarami Reddy, Any and Shashi Ranjan, announced.
●   The award - whose previous recipients were Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchanand Rekha - will be presented on February 25.
●   Pamela said the two biggest reasons why the 51-year- old actor was chosen are that he was extremely close to Chopra - he did four films with Shah Rukh, which were all big hits - and also because of the iconic status that SRK enjoys.

●   यह अवॉर्ड शाहरूख़ खान को दिया जाएगा। इससे पहले यह अवॉर्ड लता मंगेशकर, अमिताभ बच्चन और रेखा को मिल चुका है।
●   25 फरवरी को यह अवॉर्ड शाहरूख़ को मिलेगा। मतलब शहंशाह के बाद अब बादशाह को यह अवॉर्ड मिलने जा रहा है।
●   पुरस्कार जूरी में , चोपड़ा की पत्नी पामेला, फिल्म निर्माता बोनी कपूर, सिमी ग्रेवाल, पद्मिनी कोहलपुरी, सुब्बारामी रेड्डी, शशि रंजन शामिल हैं।
●   पुरस्कार पहले लता मंगेशकर, अमिताभ बच्चन और रेखा को मिल चुका है ।
●   पामेला ने कहा कि 51 वर्षीय अभिनेता को चुनने के पीछे 2 कारण हैं , एक तो ये की वो चोपड़ा के बेहद करीब हैं दूसरा उनके साथ शाहरुख़ ने 4 बहुत बड़ी हिट फिल्में दी हैं ।

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights gets SKOCH Awards for POCSO e-Box

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) of Ministry of Women and Child Development has been conferred the Skoch Silver and Skoch Order-of Merit award. The award was received by NCPCR Chairperson Smt. Stuti Kacker from Sh. Ajay Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & IT at an event attended by representatives of Technology Companies, Govt. Departments, Public Sector Undertaking, Research Organisations in New Delhi last week.
●   The two awards were received by NCPCR for applying technology to develop an electronic drop box, POCSO e-Box for registering complaints on Child Sexual Abuse. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Kacker said that everybody should stand up against Child Sexual Abuse, a heinous crime that leaves permanent scars on the psyche of the child.
●   The competition saw more than 3000 participants and NCPCR’s project, POCSO e-box was considered among the top 30 entries.
●   POCSO e-box is a unique endeavour by NCPCR for receiving online complaint of Child Sexual Abuse directly from the victim. The system maintains confidentiality of the victim/ complainant. Through a well defined procedure complaints are directly followed up by a team which counsels the victim, providing further guidance for required legal action.
●   Through a short animation film embedded in the e-box it assures the victim not to feel bad, helpless or confused as it’s not her fault. With the e-box, it is easy to register complaint through a step-by-step guided process.
●   According to a study, conducted by Ministry of Women & Child Development during 2007, about 53% of children surveyed, reported having faced one or the other form of sexual abuse in their lifetime. It has been found that in most cases, the offender is a family member/near relative or an acquaintance. The child victim in such cases generally does not report such incidences.

राष्ट्रीय बाल अधिकार संरक्षण आयोग पोस्को ई-बॉक्स के लिए पुरस्कार से सम्मानित

महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत राष्ट्रीय बाल अधिकार संरक्षण आयोग (एनसीपीसीआर) को पोस्को ई-बॉक्स के लिए स्काच सिल्वर और स्काच आर्डर ऑफ मैरिट पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है। यह पुरस्कार पिछले सप्ताह नई दिल्ली में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय में अपर सचिव श्री अजय कुमार ने एनसीपीसीआर की अध्यक्ष श्रीमती स्तुति कक्कड़ को प्रदान किया। कार्यक्रम में टेक्नॉलोजी कंपनियों, सरकारी विभागों, सार्वजनिक क्षेत्रों के उपक्रमों और अनुसंधान संगठनों ने भाग लिया।
●   एनसीपीसीआर को यह पुरस्कार बाल यौन शोषण की शिकायत पंजीकृत करने के लिए इलेक्ट्रानिक ड्राप बॉक्स पोस्को ई-बॉक्स विकसित करने में प्रौद्योगिकी के उपयोग करने हेतु प्रदान किया गया है। इस अवसर पर अपने संबोधन में श्रीमती कक्कड़ ने कहा कि बच्चों के मन में हमेशा के लिए बुरा भाव छोड़ने वाले घिनोने बाल यौन शोषण के खिलाफ हर किसी को खड़ा होना चाहिए।
●   प्रतियोगिता में तीन हजार से अधिक प्रविष्टियां शामिल हुई और एनसीपीसीआर की परियोजना पोस्को ई-बॉक्स को 30 सर्वोच्च प्रविष्टियों में से प्रथम चुना गया।
●   पोस्को ई-बॉक्स, एनसीपीसीआर द्वारा बाल यौन शोषण के शिकार बच्चों से ऑनलाइन शिकायत प्राप्त करने का एक अनूठा प्रयास है। यह प्रणाली शिकायतकर्ता की गोपनीयता बरकरार रखती है। एक निर्धारित प्रक्रिया के तहत शिकायत को एक दल द्वारा देखा जाता है जो यौन शोषण के शिकार बच्चे को परामर्श प्रदान करने के साथ कानूनी प्रक्रिया पालन करने संबंधी दिशा-निर्देश प्रदान करता है।
●   ई-बॉक्स में एक लघु एनीमेशन फिल्मद्वारा यौन शोषण के शिकार बच्चों को सहायताहीन या दिग्भ्रमित और बुरा ना समझने जैसा आश्वासन दिया जाता है। ई-बॉक्स के द्वारा चरणबद्ध रूप से आसानी से शिकायत दर्ज की जा सकती है।
●   महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय द्वारा वर्ष 2007 में किए गए अध्ययन के अनुसार सर्वे किए गए बच्चों में से 53 प्रतिशत बच्चों ने अपने जीवनकाल में एक या अधिक बाल यौन शोषण का सामना किया था। अधिकतर मामलों में दोषी कोई पारिवारिक सदस्य/निकट का रिश्तेदार या जानने वाला व्यक्ति था। इस प्रकार के मामलों में सामान्य तौर पर बाल यौन शोषण के शिकार बच्चे ऐसी घटनाओं को दर्ज नहीं कराते।

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare won gold in the Web Ratna category in the recently concluded Digital India awards, 2016, conferred by the Ministry of Electronics & IT to promote more innovative e-governance initiatives by the government entities.
●   Hon'ble Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology and Law & Justice, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad presented the award. Digital India awards, earlier known as the Web Ratna Awards, were instituted under the Ambit of National Portal of India.
●   The award acknowledges exemplary initiatives of various government entities in the realm of e-governance. Shri Jitendra Arora, Director, e-Governance, at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare received the award.
●   Web Ratna award felicitates a Ministry or Department of the Government of India which has a comprehensive web presence and display the level of accountability in terms of quantity, quality, spectrum of coverage, and innovation ascertaining user satisfaction. Level of convenience provided to the citizen for availing the services, usability and accessibility are also assessed.

स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय ने अभी हाल में सम्पन्न हुए डिजिटल इंडिया पुरस्कार 2016 के वेब रत्न वर्ग में स्वर्ण पदक प्राप्त किया है। इन पुरस्कारों का आयोजन इलेक्ट्रॉनिक एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय ने किया था।
●   ये पुरस्कार सरकारी निकायों द्वारा ई-शासन पहलों को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए प्रदान किये जाते हैं।

●   The award was presented by former India captain Ajit Wadekar and former India player Madhav Apte at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai.
●   Gavaskar was presented with a citatation and a certificate which has details of all his 34 centuries.

●   Usain Bolt is a Jamaican sprinter.
●   He is regarded as the fastest human ever timed.
●   He is the first man to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time became mandatory.
●   He is also the world record holder as a part of the 4 × 100 metres relay. He is the reigning World and Olympic champion in these three events.
●   She competes in the 3000 metres, 5000 metres and 10000 metres events.
●   At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she set a new 10000 metres world record and won the gold in the event.

President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee presented the National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), 2016 to awardees at a function organized by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment here today on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3rd December). Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, Ministers of State of Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, Shri Ramdas Athawale also graced the occasion.
●   Minister of State of Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar said that according to census 2011, there are 2.68 crore Divyangjan in our country who exhibit great diversity in terms of quantum of Disability as well as type of Disabilities. He told about the achievements under various schemes being successfully implemented by the Department for empowerment of Divyangjan with specifically mentioning about the skill development programs, ADIP scheme and Accessible India Campaign.
●   On International Day of Persons with Disabilities i.e. 3rd December the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment presents National Awards on Individuals, Institutions, Organisations, State/District etc for their outstanding achievements and work done towards empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The National Award is presented in 14 broad categories –
●   Best Employees/Self Employed with disabilities;
●   Best Employers & Best Placement Officer or Agency;
●   Best Individual and Best Institution working for the Cause of Persons with Disabilities;

राष्ट्रपति श्री प्रणब मुखर्जी ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिव्यांगजन दिवस (3 दिसम्बर) के अवसर पर आज यहां सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता मंत्रालय के दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण विभाग द्वारा आयोजित एक समारोह में पुरस्कार विजेताओं को राष्ट्रीय दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण पुरस्कार- 2016 प्रदान किये। इस अवसर पर सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता मंत्री श्री थावरचंदगहलोत, सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता राज्य मंत्री श्री कृष्णपाल गुर्जर और श्री रामदास अठावले भी उपस्थित थे।
●   सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता राज्य मंत्री श्री कृष्णपाल गुर्जर ने कहा कि 2011 की जनगणना के अनुसार हमारे देश में 2.68 करोड़ दिव्यांगजन हैं। उन्होंने दिव्यांगजनों के सशक्तिकरण के लिए विभाग द्वारा कार्यान्वित की जा रही विभिन्न योजनाओं की उपलब्धियों के बारे में बताया। उन्होंने कौशल विकास कार्यक्रमों, एडीआईपी योजना और सुगम्य भारत अभियान का विशेष उल्लेख किया।
●   3 दिसंबर यानि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिव्यांग दिवस पर सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता मंत्रालय का दिव्यांग सशक्तिकरण विभाग दिव्यांगजनों के सशक्तिकरण की दिशा में कार्य करने वाले व्यक्तियों,संस्थाओं,संगठनों,राज्यों/जिलों की उत्कृष्ट उपलब्धियों के लिए राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार प्रदान करता है। राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार 14 श्रेणियों में प्रदान किये जाते हैं –
●   सर्वश्रेष्ठ दिव्यांग कर्मचारी/ निजी व्यवसायी;

Kolkata Only Indian City to receive Best Cities Award for Climate Change

Kolkata, along with 10 other cities from across the globe, has been honoured with the best cities of 2016 award in recognition of its inspiring and innovative programme with regard to solid waste management.
●   Kolkata is the only Indian city to receive the prestigious award. It received the award during the C40 Mayors Summit held in Mexico City.
●   The project involved 100 per cent door to door collection of solid waste, segregation and recycling by way of compositing which is sold in the market.
●   One significant aspect of this project is that ragpickers are part of it.
●   Other cities that won the award are Addis Adaba, Copenhagen, Curitiba, Sydney and Malborne, Paris, Portland, Seoul Shenzhen, and Yokohama.
●   The winning projects show that great progress is being made on every continent, and they serve as an inspiration to other cities.
●   They also show how cities can help the world meet the ambitious goals set a year ago in Paris.

ठोस अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन के सिलसिले में प्रेरणादायी और अभिनव कार्यक्रम चलाने के लिए कोलकाता और दुनिया के दस अन्य शहरों को इस श्रेणी में वर्ष 2016 के सर्वश्रेष्ठ शहर का पुरस्कार दिया गया है.
●   लाखों की आबादी वाले शहरों के मेयरों के अंतरराष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन के मौके पर जारी की गई प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है कि कोलकाता ठोस अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन सुधार परियोजना ने स्रोत पर ही कचरे को अलग करने और स्थानांतरण केन्द्रों पर अपशिष्ट पदार्थों के निपटारे की दिशा में 60-80 फीसदी का लक्ष्य प्राप्त किया.
●   इस सम्मेलन में भारत के कोलकाता, मुंबई, चेन्नई और नई दिल्ली जैसे शहरों ने हिस्सा लिया.
●   सी40 अध्यक्ष और रियो डि जिनेरियो के मेयर एडुआडरे पेस के हाथों पुरस्कार ग्रहण करने के बाद उत्तरपाड़ा नगरपालिका के अध्यक्ष दिलीप यादव ने मैक्सिको से बताया, ‘‘हमारे देश में, केवल कोलकाता महानगर को यह पुरस्कार मिला है.’’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘इससे हमें इस परियोजना को लेकर और सतत तरीके से काम करने की प्रेरणा मिलती है.’’ य
