Sunil Bharti Mittal appointed Chairman of GSMA
Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, was on 27 October 2016 appointed as Chairman of GSMA.
● As GSMA Chairman, Mittal will oversee the strategic direction of the organisation.
● Mittal will succeed Jon Fredrik Baksaas, who will step down from the GSMA board at the end of 2016.
● On the other hand, the company re-elected Mari-Noëlle Jego-Laveissiere, Executive Vice President, Innovation, Orange Group as Deputy Chairman.
● It also elected the new members of the 26-member Board of the company.
● Mittal took over as Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) early this year.
● He is also a Trustee of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and on the Board of Qatar Foundation Endowment.

● इसके अतिरिक्त कंपनी ने मैरी नोइली जेगो को पुनः कार्यकारी उपाध्यक्ष निर्वाचित किया है. साथ ही कम्पनी के बोर्ड में 26 नए सदस्यों का भी चुनाव किया गया.
● सुनील भारती मित्तल एक भारतीय उद्योगपति, समाज सेवी और भारत के सबसे बड़े टेलीकॉम कंपनी एयरटेल के चेयरमैन हैं.
● वॉयस एवं डाटा ने मित्तल को वर्ष 2006 में “टेलीकॉम मैन ऑफ़ द ईयर” चयनित किया.
● उन्हें फ्रॉस्ट और सुलिवन एशिया प्रशांत आईसीटी पुरस्कार, 2006, में ‘सीईओ ऑफ़ द ईयर” सम्मानित किया गया.
