Siachen avalanche survivor Lance Naik Hanamanthappa passed away.

 The sole Siachen survivor, Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad passed away, three days after he was discovered supernaturally alive under 35 feet of ice for six long days in the misleading Siachen icy mass.

 Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar included, "The country salutes him." Indian Army boss General Dalbir Singh said: "The warrior in him will keep on moving eras." Besides the armed force boss and Parrikar, Congress VP Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal laid wreaths on the body at Delhi Cantonment. Koppad's wife Mahadevi and two-year-old girl Netra were available.
