Shri A.K.Mital reappointed as Chairman, Railway Board
The current Chairman Railway Board Shri A.K.Mital has been reappointed as the new Chairman, Railway Board for a period of 2 years i.e. till he attains the age of 62 years, w.e.f. 01.08.2016.
• Shri A.K. Mital was appointed as Chairman, Railway Board on 31st December 2014. Prior to this appointment, Shri A.K.Mital was Member Staff, Railway Board.
• Earlier, he served as General Manager of South Western Railway-SWR (Headquarters Hubli) and was also looking after the additional charge of General Manager, South Central Railway- SCR (Headquarters Secunderabad).
• Born on 7th July 1956, Shri Mital is a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.). An Officer of 1976 batch of Indian Railways Service of Stores (IRSS), Shri A.K. Mital has worked on various important posts on Indian Railways.
• He was Director/Stores, Executive Director/Vigilance and Executive Director/Stores in Railway Board, Ministry of Railways. He has worked as Chief Material Manager in Northern Railway.
• He was Divisional Railway Manager of Izzatnagar Division in North Eastern Railway and Controller of Stores in South Central Railway/Secunderabad and Diesel Locomotive Works/Varanasi.
• Before joining Railway Board as Member Staff, he was General Manager of South Western Railway/Hubli.
• He has also held additional charge of three major Railways viz., Southern Railway, South Central Railway and Central Railway as General Manager for more than 12 months.
• Shri Mital has undergone training in USA and France.
रेलवे बोर्ड के वर्तमान अध्यक्ष श्री ए.के. मित्तल को फिर से दो साल के लिए रेलवे बोर्ड का चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया गया है। श्री ए.के. मित्तल 62 वर्ष की आयु पूरी होने तक चेयरमैन रहेंगे उनका कार्यकाल 1 अगस्त, 2016 से शुरू होगा।
• श्री ए.के.मित्तल को 31 दिसंबर, 2014 को रेलवे बोर्ड का चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया गया था। इस नियुक्ति से पहले श्री मित्तल रेलवे बोर्ड में सदस्य थे।
• साथ ही वह दक्षिण-पश्चिम रेलवे (निदेशालय हुबली) के प्रबंध निदेशक और दक्षिण मध्य रेलवे (हेड क्वार्टर सिकंदराबाद) के प्रबंध निदेशक का अतिरिक्त प्रभार भी संभाल चुके हैं।
• 7 जुलाई, 1956 को जन्में श्री मित्तल ने इंजीनियरिंग में स्नातक की डिग्री ली है। भारतीय रेलवे स्टोर्स सेवा के 1976 बैच के अधिकारी श्री मित्तल ने रेलवे में कई महत्वपूर्ण पदों पर काम किया है।
• वह स्टोर्स के निदेशक, सतर्कता विभाग में कार्यकारी निदेशक और रेलवे बोर्ड में स्टोर्स के अधिशासी निदेशक भी रहे। साथ ही उत्त्री रेलवे में उन्होंने चीफ मेटेरियल मैनेजर के तौर पर भी अपनी सेवाएं दीं।
• श्री मित्तल उत्तरी-पूर्वी रेलवे में इज्जत नगर खंड के डिविजनल मैनेजर और दक्षिणी मध्य रेलवे/सिकंदराबाद व डीजल लोकोमोटिव वर्क्स/वाराणसी में स्टोर के नियंत्रक रहे।
• रेलवे बोर्ड में सदस्य नियुक्त होने से पहले श्री मित्तल दक्षिण-पश्चिम रेलवे/हुबली के प्रबंध निदेशक थे।
• इसके साथ ही साथ रेलवे के तीन बड़े जोन दक्षिण रेलवे, दक्षिण मध्य रेलवे और मध्य रेलवे में प्रबंध निदेशक की अतिरिक्त जिम्मेदारी का निर्वाहन भी श्री मित्तल ने किया।
• इन सभी महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेदारियों के साथ-साथ श्री मित्तल ने अमरीका और फ्रांस से 12 महीने से ज्यादा समय तक प्रशिक्षण हासिल किया।
